    The author is really imaginative.

Since China's current top leaders are all "reformists" and none would fit neatly into the "hardliner" or "conservative" label, she craftily divide them into the "populist" and "elitist" camps. .

i think this author come from china after 6.4. she sounds as that. I would like to talk some about that. I have been through those years. could we leave that event apart and do not verdict it now. because no one could do that................but that is not because of that event, in your eyes chinese every movement is wrong...................... are there all darkness in your eyes? no bright???????? if it is as that, I think that event has covered you whole eyes.............otherwise, you should go to the doctor. your eyes have problem or your heart has problem............ If you are just an author writing some for live, that is ok, people could understand that if you are writing for sale.....for money. If you are a journalist, you lost your ethical to be a jourmalist. that is Justice, honest, factualism. you have put so much of your personal emotion into your reporting china and chinese event.................we do not want you to dress up China, just do not distorted the facts ..............since you left that place, how many time you have been there. So how could you be aware of people in there and events in there today????????????????????? I am wongering..................................

CHINA IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHERS

The author is totally off the mark. If you want to understand the big issues going on in China, read an article in South China Morning Post, called "China's Political Force."

If this author just try to wrote some for living, I could understand that. you could fool American but you would never fool us----Chinese or people traveal around. Do not forget that the world is more open . there are lot of chinese who could read in english and live everywhere of the world. and there are lot of people traveal around. I think you could get this job to write about china because of your background..............please to not cater others and give people the whole picture of china. the real pictures.......there are still alot of people could never go to that place. take off your sunglasses or any color glasses.................................................................................yes, there are some problems in china that as everywhere in the world. But do not neglect that today's china is better............................................. and the smiling faces on this land---china........we are happy......it is holiday............for all of chinese.........:-)

All of these are some of the inherent bias in the West .You are not a Chinese,so you do not know what do Chinese people want.In the past 60 tears, the government has given what we really want without much conflicts, all the Chinese people are feeling very happy, because it is evident and can not be ignored that the standard of living has greatly improved.

To those who've known China, this conflict of views has been going on for some time. We (as Americans) fail to respect the dialogue and diversity in their system simply waiving it off as one-party (much like we have 'one' constitution). This party has more people than most countries, and may or may not accurately reflect majority opinion (much like polls do here) even if not strictly a democracy in our sense. Any simplification of their system and reference to it as being a 'dictatorship' is really just china-bashing.
