One hundred seventeen years, to be precise. And you thought the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan were never-ending—although at this rate, they might be. Iraq has now outlasted World War II, while in March Afghanistan will edge out Vietnam as the longest American war ever.

How could a news magazine of your stature forget the "Forgotten War" unless your understanding of the definition of the word "forgotten" is a verb and not an adjective, which then, of course, makes it an action word "to forget" and therefore you did it correctly by forgetting it. As far as responding to this comment, just forget it.
Oh, I almost forgot. I'm a Korean War veteran.

Perhaps a little more research needed to be done for this piece, maybe by a historian. As a veteran of the Korean War, I was surprised to see it misisng from the piece at 3 years 1 month and 7 days - 6/20/1950 to 7/27/1953.
