    Eventually Gage or one of the other plasticity scientists should be recognized. Probably too soon though since we're only just beginning to scrape the surface of the ramifications of that momentous discovery.

    Perhaps Sharon Begley should be famiiiar with the work - and who accomplished it - before she writes about it. Szostak was not only a key collaborator in the discovery of telomeres, he intiated the collaboration. Szotsak, by the way, is also widely cited, along with Jerry Joyce and Larry Gold, for invitro selection.
    I suggest Begley check the Lasker Award for 2006, whose panel is widely regarded to be among the most knowledgeable and renowned in science. http://www.laskerfoundation.org/awards/2006_b_description.htm.
    If you want to promote women for the award, I all for it. Just get it right.
