When all is said and done it's best to buy a piece of Art because you love it. You might be stuck with it for a long time, so you best pick something you can live with. Buying art only to make a profit on it is dumb. High prices and loftier auction prices are subject to market corrections just like NYSE. Recently I bought a Ovation 1973 Pacemaker 12 string acoustic guitar on eBay. I'm thrilled to have it. It cost me 200.00 (USD). New it ain't - but it plays and sounds great. One mans trash, another mans treasure still rules the day.
