We only have one Commander in Chief. In the military chain of command, we never see press conferences where one star generals try to fry four star generals in the press. Everything is done with chain of command discipline. Any general who tries to run end games around the Commander in Chief needs to have his ears peeled back. McCrystal is overseeing Afghanistan and his vision is limited to that. Obama is overseeing ALL of America's interests at home and internationally and he is responsible to all Americans because we chose him to be the President of the United States. Lincoln had to fire some pretty important generals because their arrogance made them useless to the nation. I hope that McCrystal doesn't continue to try to challenge the President about who is in charge and who has the ultimate responsibility. We only have one President and his name is Barack Obama. He has the wisdom to look before he leaps. If George W. Bush had done that, we wouldn't have spent 1.5 trillion dollars in an unnecessary war in Iraq and Afghanistan would have been quashed when we had the chance early on. Surgeons cut. That's all they know how to do, so to them every solution is a cutting solution. That doesn't mean that you should let them cut on your body without careful consideration. Generals fight wars. That doesn't mean that we should give them ultimate power to decide the destiny of our entire country, it's young soldiers and our economy. That's what we have a President for and that's why he has surrounded himself with brilliant and experienced advisers. I'll string along with the President. If all of our Presidents had done all the things the generals pushed for, we would have had a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Who thinks that would have been a wiser way to end the cold war?

I am currently in the military and this seems like a simple discussion. Generals should be aloud to speak their minds. Once you stop listening to your Generals and start listening to the paper pushers you start losing the war. Right, wrong or indifferent Generals should be heard because they are the ones leading the men and women on the batllefield. They see what is going right and what is going wrong. I think Obama should make an informed decision himself and "stick to his guns" so to say. He did call this a "war of necessity" but now it seems like he is faltering

"When the rich wage war it's the poor that die", remember that President Obama, Senators, Representatives and civilians.

And for those of you who want to make this about money, what price do you put on a human life?
"Cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before. Like I'm stupid standing for what I'm standing for. Like this war is just a different brand of war, like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor. Like they understand you in the back of the jet. When you can't put gas in your tank. These f***ers are laughin their way to the bank and cashin the check, askin you to have some compassion and have some respect." (lyrics from Hands Held High by Linkin Park)
