Economically, America is in a little bit of trouble. The cost of health care has to be CUT! But the rationing of care is not politically palatable, so I guess the plan is to focus on expansion of coverage and consumer protections while giving the health care industry enough rope to hang themselves before the rationing begins (Look at what's happening with Obama's twin in Mass).

The reason the Dem establishment was so successful at lull the health care industry into "talks," was because of the very enticing carrot of having all of those new young policy holders tyranically forced into the system.

The fastest way to enroll all of these new customers is to have a strong mandate complete with consequences if you don't OBEY. That is why when the Senate softened the penalties on individuals with no insurance coverage - the industry immediately attacked the legislation. The end game will be the Public option and the business regulations that end up in the final bill (The stick). It's yet to be seen how Harry Reid is going to pull this off...

    Re: The Elections

Republicans will win the battle but Obama and Rahm will win the war! Dems may lose some seats but Obama's agenda might get passed through congress BEFORE the 2010 elections.

Considering that the health bill only passed by a couple of votes in the House, the elections were a clear victory for Obama. He brought the former republican congressman of NY-23 into the administration, so I guess that's why that obscure area in upstate NY got so much attention from the republican party's dear leader- Sarah Palin. The Tea bagger republicans brought that radical, secessionist, red confederate state nonsense to a northeastern union state and ended up losing that area to a Democrat for the first time.

At the end of the day, the NY/NJ/VA elections tell us that Democrats in former confederate states may be in trouble (For now). But I have a feeling that some Dems are going to say their final prayers, kiss their careers goodbye, and then go kamakaze on health-care... These noble Martyr's will be immortalized in history forever!

China will again be the big winner in the cap and trade deal, which will make the energy and labor cost in United States even higher and more manufacturing jobs, including the green jobs from the cap and trade bill, will move to China or other nations with cheaper labor and energy cost. Even on wind power which is doing well in Texas, China has planned to build a huge wind farm in Texas, with imported wind turbines made in China.
