As the dollar falls, it makes our exports cheaper and our imports more expensive. This should rapidly help out trade balance.

The trouble is the dollar's been falling pretty consistently for the past 10 years, while the trade deficit has been skyrocketing. This simply means the U.S. economy has been hemorrhaging capital overseas for quite some time now, and there is no silver lining to that cloud. Anyone who mentions exports in relation to the declining dollar is either uninformed or being disingenuous.
