Iranian Mullah pose no threat to US or any other countries and are not even near to build a nuclear bomb. In my opinion US must leaves Iran alone and play politics with lots of delicacy and patience. Mr. Zakaria dismisses too quickly the role of religion in government. Where does he think the radical egalitarianism upon which this country was founded came from? Everytime Obama passes a new bill I cringe. This Gov't med plan is going to cost us all more. Congress will have wonderful care, but our parents will be denied many needed operations because of their age and if you opt to pay for an operation with your own money you and the doctor will be arrested and fined.
The people in Canada are frightened because if we pass Gov't health care then they can't come to the US to buy their health care and can't get it from their Gov't run program. It will mean less revenue for the United States from Canada and it will mean a shortage of doctors in the US, do you really think a student will pay 50,000 for med school to be paid 22$ an hour? They'd never pay their student loans off! So the lines for treatment of what ails you will become astronomical and many people will suffer.
Everytime Obama says it's for our good I get an upset stomach. We lose our rights everyday with this administration and our once great country will fall once he's through. How can people still attempt to defend what Obama and congress are doing? Isn't anyone paying attention to the real facts??
He thinks we are stupid, he says it will be paid for by those that create the pollution, you see that means all of us, not the companies that make the energy. And those that pollute more than others can just trade it off to the company that has clean energy credits, while we pay through the nose!!! No one seems to understand this!!!

It is a good idea to practice common sense. It's about time. The supreme court usual 5 right wing votes shifted over not because of their change of ideology but because they read the political wind and do not want to further antogonize voters. They can see and feel the country's move and change in electing Obama by a considerable majority. They do not want to further cause damage to their republican right wing party for the upcoming 2010 elections. The civil rights vote was due to the same sentiments Thomas was the lone contemptuos naysayer in both decisions. There is no hope for him. This same bunch was previously always voting anti citizens and always voting pro authority (cops) adn acting like but aour hands our tied. what a load of BS. So much for anti empathy. How convenient that ther past decisions were around 80 to 90 % empathetic to big corporate business and anti citizen and individual rights. This was their interpretation of the constitution for the past 20 to 24 years. Look at these Supreme Court members portfolios and you will see their blue chip stock holdings. They all become millionaires while on the highest U. S. judicial bench.

I grew up with Michael Jackson in Gary, Indiana. I am now 50 so we may have attended Bannerker or Ernie Pyle Elementary schools together. I do remember that sand box we all played together in. I will miss Michael and prayers for the family that has to bury a son so ripe in age. Michael, may you rest in peace.

Why not writing an article about the number of movie when the lead male roles could be the female lead's grandparent! If you wrote an article like this about black people, you would be fired. I am chagrined at the new format for Newsweek. I no longer enjoy reading it. The other format was much more interesting and easier to read. We will continue getting Newsweek until our subscription runs out and then we will switch to TIME. I am disappointed, because I used to love getting Newsweek in the mailbox every week. The long, essay format and the absence of my favorite reporters just took all of the enjoyment out of reading your magazine. Such a shame.

I think that Obama loosing ground is FUNNY and 5 months comming. In one single day , I went to my Dr, Office and the secratary was in tears bc they had cut off her sons SS bennifits, she said "I wish I could call obama u p and ask for my vote back " hes a liar .the second comment came from my friends daughter who happens to like black men only she s white, she said I feel really stupid (this after reading my bumper stickers ) for voting for him, I voted for him for the wrong reason, I asked her You voted for him Just bc he was black didnt you , she looked down and said Yes.. the third came from my neice who is of mixed erace , her and her mother and my mother n law all voted for him, they all three said they regret it , adn wouldnt be doing it agin.that was5 people in a day. lets keep this momentum up LOL and maybe just maybe this IDIOT will be gone. and Maybe he will take all of the liberal media who is licking his butt along with him.!! including News week !!!

Your new format is disappointing in the extreme. The presentation of ads that mirror news pages is confusing and causes us to skip articles not knowing what you are trying to give first "attention" to. Many short pieces are lost in web-like fractions that lose impact by appearing more as an afterthought than real reporting.
If your intent is to drive people away from printed reporting you have succeeded with me. However, your timing seems unfortunate for the segments of the culture who have championed your cause even through rising subscription prices and conflicting levels of media centrism. We hope you figure out what you want to be before everyone looks elsewhere.

Here's my two cents worth. I've been on FB, Twitter, Myspace and many netwroking sites.
I think it can be a good thng to stay in contact with people and make new friends providing you can handle the rejection, just like real life. I've found that being unfriended espessially by a neighbor can be a very difficult thing, espessially when they asked you to be their friend in the first place, and you both share common interests, and then she insults your work without so much as a kind word to say about your primary work. Of course I'm referring to what I do which is photography.

I think, unless I missed it in your story, you should have written about the possible unintended consequences rejection can have on a user of these sites like Facebook when the user opens themselves up to people who accept your request for friend or who ignore you or the expectation that if you write to them, they'll write back. Or, then their is the unfriend...which is an outright rejection of you the person.

What might that do? how might that effect people in real life?

Ask yourself next time you accept or ask someone to be a friend on these sites, what is your or their expectations...is it a casual thing, is it best buddies...what if I decide to unfriend someone one day will they track you down?

Let the repugs wonder in the desert for the next 40 years...who needs em?

All industrialized nations have universal free health care but USA. Such would be cheaper than what we have. We pay more and get less than any other nation.
