I guess everyone is entitled to self-promote; however, it appears from the picture that the US Flag was intentionally and inappropriately used as an advertising self-serving prop for former Governor Palin. This because the US Flag appears crispy new, it is not properly displayed nor properly folded, it should not have anything placed on it, it should not be used as a drape, and it should not be used as an personal advertising "tool". Also who in their everyday life would have a US Flag laying around in their dining room/den to lean on while taking a self-serving, self-promoting picture. Now, we are not all expected to know the US Flag rules, and I have also sometimes being ignorant of these rules; however, a Governor who is also the "Commander in Chief" for their state's National Guard should know better than to use the US inappropriately for self-serving purposes. The US Flag represents a "living nation" borne out of the sacrifices of those who fought for or gave their lives for our liberties and freedoms. Number one, Mr. Meacham, Nixon was not a conservative, so just what is the point of "even Nixon wanted to distance himself " from Goldwater? Hopefully, you aren't suggesting that Goldwater was such an extremist than even a good conservative Republican like Nixon was repelled.

Second, you apparently give credence to the 42% polled who do not believe Sarah Palin is qualified to be President, presumably because of her inexperience. They may have a point, exhibit A being the current occupant of the Oval Office.

He is the worse Pres we have ever had! He is way too radical and has done NOTHING for our country! All he is worried about is pushing that RIDICULOUS health reform bill passed! The White House wants to fight with Fox News because they won't kiss their butts and report only what the White House and the President wants out there for us to see & read. Steve Ballmer is also a guy filled with hubris to the degree that he thinks that he is loved by everyone and worshiped like a rock star and the people who criticize only do so because they are jealous of his success when the fact is, most people not on his payroll regard him as a buffoon and the guy who has all but completely ruined the reputation and credibility of a once great company through really bad business decisions and statements to the press that make him sound like he is completely insane.
