Why is Steve Ballmer given credit for being so smart?
To me he seems more like Captain Ahab chasing his white whales around all over the place and shouting "From Hell's heart I stab at thee!" and Microsoft is of course his Pequod.
Unfortunately for him there are now too many white whales to chase all at the same time.
Steve Ballmer is also a guy filled with hubris to the degree that he thinks that he is loved by everyone and worshiped like a rock star and the people who criticize only do so because they are jealous of his success when the fact is, most people not on his payroll regard him as a buffoon and the guy who has all but completely ruined the reputation and credibility of a once great company through really bad business decisions and statements to the press that make him sound like he is completely insane.

If this were the time before 1969 I would agree, but we no longer live in those times, times have changed black people are no longer the race victims just abuse the race card to get away with things especially crimes that they have committed. this just proves to be another one of those reasons to sue a county, or city for racial profiling and getting money yet for another so called racial discrimination. The policies inacted thus far by the Obama admin and the Democrats are intended to push the communist agenda further into our society...We already accept so much of it as 'normal" it is scary to think what they will be able to accomplish. We are in a downward spiraling market. Real estate prices continue to plumet.

There are no jobs, so the average man can't pay their bills.

The banks aren't lending money, so business can't stop hemorraging.

The heart of this mess lies with real estate prices falling and the banks not being solvent.

Solution:

A new mandate must be issued. "The Real Estate and Banking Reform Act"

Basically, the banks are going to offer a new kind of loan to all existing loan holders.

This loan will be a Interest Free, 30 year amortization loan, good for ten years. To qualify for this loan, the borrower will not be allowed to sell this property for ten years.

During this time, the borrower will make their payments, build equity, pay real estate taxes and maintain the property.

If it is a primary residence or investment property, they will rent it out.

In ten years time, people that are upside down today will be property owners with equity.

In the meantime:

Communities will grow because they are receiving real estate taxes.
Banks will save billions in foreclosure legal fee's and bad dept.
Construction companies will begin to work again because people will be able to buy real estate again.
The jobs will be back.
Construction in the US is the one business that cannot be exported.
All area's of our economic social structure will thrive.

Here are the numbers:
Loan $300,000
Normal Fixed Mortgage - 6%, 30yr amortization = $1,800/mo
Interest Free 30yr Loan = $833/mo
Ten Years of payments = $100,000

Basically, in ten years each homeowner will have paid down their dept by one third.

The way things are going, banks are having to accept short sales by at least the same money, so what do they have to lose? Nothing.

In the meantime, people will have affordable housing. They will be able to pay their bills.

America is the number one consumer in the world, but if we can't pay basic bills, we can't consume.

Fareed Zakaria in his 'Case Against A Surge' (Oct. 19, 09), clearly illustrated his complete lack of understanding of the Military Mission , be it Iraq, Afghanistan or any other sordid spot in the World. All Miltary Officers are bound to the code of "Successfully Completing the Mission hand down to them by Formal Orders. Perhaps what Mr. Zakaria does not understand is that each Officer owes it to each man in his command to Bring Them Home. Mr. Zakaria might read the book by then Col. Hal Moore about his mission in Vietnam and the importance he placed in "Bringing All Of His Troops Home" - preferably alive. The Book was "We Were Soldiers Once And Young". General McChrystal's request for 40,000 more troops might just be based on not only aiding in a successful prosecution of the War Effort there, but also in reducing the attrition rate the Americans would suffer without the additional forces requested - IN NUMBERS THERE IS STRENGTH. Obviously Mr. Zakaria has never served in Harms way. A 30 man Platoon is a much better target for the enemy than a 200 man Company.
