Malcolm Jones joined Newsweek as a general editor in the Arts section in November 1989. He serves as a reporter and an all-purpose culture writer, contributing book reviews and features. He is also the arts editor for the Newsweek website.

Prior to joining Newsweek's Arts section, Jones served as the book editor for the St. Petersburg Times in St. Petersburg, Florida from 1983 to 1989 and as an editorial writer for the Greensboro Daily News in Greensboro, North Carolina from 1978-1983.
