    The Boston Latin School outside of the top 100? It's amazing that anyone takes this list seriously. US News and World Report had them at #19, and that is probably too low.

    How can you have a list of elite public schools without having Lowell High School of San Francisco. It is the oldest high school west of the Mississippi, and has a rich list of famous alumni, including a Supreme Court Justice, the president of Yale University and a Nobel Peace prize winning scientist just to name a few. It ranks near the top every year in AP tesing, and it has the highest graduate admission rate to the UC system which is probably the nation's best university system anchored by UC Berkeley.
