What a ridiculous comment from fsilber. If they had actually read the article, the "problem" has been around for literally millions of years, and our culture has not "collapsed." Youths are performing the same actions they always have; now, it is merely all right to talk about these issues in public as it is no longer stigmatized as it once was. Despite being a "sleazy" culture America is still as prudish and uncomfortable about women's sexuality as it always has been, and will remain a hand-wringing point of concern for years to come.

Ahem...AIDS has not been killing people for a million years. Nor have there been epidemic levels venereal disease. Some threats are indeed worse now than they have ever been.

Do you have kids?! I'm half-afraid that you do.

Do you have any other uneducated, hallucinatory, micro-thoughts you'd like to showcase for us?

"The world needs ditch-diggers too!" God bless America and gutter-culture! Where else would a person who's only claim to fame is being born to rich parents(which isn't fame) would become famous? A side note........I grew up in a very rich town and the kids who had good parents and who were made to work and make they're own niche in life have been very successful, the ones who got everything handed to them, ended up in rehab!

Your 11, you DONT know what love is, and as for your ex having sex at such a young age, I am sure she will turn out well if you know what I mean. Your better off with out her. As for all the rest of the world that thinks that children are influenced by the media it is the parents fault. You allow your children to watch such childish behavior from supposedly "grown" women. I am 21 years old and I can not stand Paris Hilton; who should idolize some one who went to jail? I hate Britney Spears; she cant even keep her own children why should you trust her to be a role model for your children, and Lindsey Lohan is almost as worse at Britney and Paris together. Parents are forgetting how to correct their children. I get so angry when I am shopping and see a child ask for candy and the parents say "no." The child start screaming and carrying on and the parents just let them carry on, I have half a mind sometimes to walk up to the child and spank them for throwing a temper tantrum and embarrising themselves and their parents, but now a days its illegal to correct your own children because of abuse laws. What has this country come too?

The most stupid thing that parents do this days is leeting their kids ¨be free" and letting them do whatever they feel like. Adults are responsible for this. If a toddler screams and throws himself to the floor because h/she wants a candy, it´s the adult´s CHARACTER that has to say no.... Kids aren´t stupid, you know? Since they are born they learn how to pull our strings. If they do that when they are babies, what can you expect when they are 17?. We create and harvest monsters and when you hear them expesss the way they do about their parents, it´s a no-brainer.
Instead of asking ourselves if the media or the celebrities are the ones to blame.... look around people! What a heck is your teeneage girl doing at 3 am on a school day outside the house?

Talk about a "Free Socity all you want but it is not free by any means !
if parent control is taken away then children will both take avantage if it and adults that are sick with no good intentions will take the opertunity to us the children in any way thay can for there gratifacation.

Some States if your Daughter Complaines of Too Much Control will Charge the Parent with Abuse and then invistagate and use the most Inosent Information and word of the child to cause the family to brake up and even if the parent defends there actions are Black balled into closing the case by intemidation and coration.

Whine, whine, whine! How many celebrities have ever claimed to be role models? That's right; not one. It is YOU, the dumb parent who holds these people up to such high standards for your children and then blame the celebrities for not living up to your ideals. Parents, not celebrities should be role models. Believe it or not, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney and Jamie Spears burp, pass gas, and put on their clothes(when they wear some) just like the rest of us.

The history of "bad girls" suggests that the problem has been slowly and steadily getting worse for a century. It will probably continue getting worse until our culture finally collapses. It reminds me of a Playboy cartoon from the 1970s -- an aged couple walking down the street pass a young woman having sex outside a doorway as a line of dozens of other men wait their turn. The old lady says to the old man, "In my day, nice girls didn't do that."
