i guess it's a good thing i'm not a teacher to these kinds of kids. let one flip me off, they'd be missing a middle finger. and it would be shoved up their nose. and, i'd dare the admin or the parent to cross me on it. conversely, if MY kid flipped a teacher off i would expect to be in the ER trying to re-attach a finger. and i would be beating my kid's butt the whole way there. in summary, BE AN ADULT, BE THE PARENT. THE KIDS CRAVE IT< THEY'RE DYING FOR IT. literally.

i certainly agree with you but the society doesnt allow you to do that. i think the cops would be on your tail, LOL!!! but these kids need some good beating though. im sure wen i have kids they wouldnt even think of being disrespectful. where im from(Jamaica) wen i was younger and attending elementary if you said foul words the teacher would wash your mouth out with soap and water then beat you (corporal punishment) now the authorities are cutting out that form of punishment. its kinda harsh but then if all things fail you could count on this kinda punishment as being good for instilling discipline, belive me i had my fair share.LOL

Please, these girls are just awful. The parents who raised them should be ashamed of themselves. I have a teen son and a young daughter...believe me I know teens will get into trouble but what I watched tonight on TV. was total disrespect. I never make excuses for my children...if they misbehave then they need to know there is a consequence. That they are to always respect teachers & adults. I would be so ashamed if that was one of my children on TV. tonight in the movie. I am so proud of the coach for fighting back and not refusing to give up. Maybe these girls would have more respect for things if their parents would actually take the time and teach them right from wrong...and not let them parade around like five ******* or sluts. If I was one of those parents I would be selling my house right now or even looking into a boarding or military school.
Let???s just hope it stops here...and the problems don't go in the future to when they have children. I cannot get over a school treating there little brats better then there teachers...this is why I could never be a teacher, who in their right mind would let a teenage run their lives. This whole school district should be fired and start over with new people who don't back down to threats or who knows who. THESE PARENTS NEED TO GROW SOME ****!!!!!!

I dnt think that all cheerleaders should be stereotyped like these on TV. Well i guess the good do suffer for the bad. Seriously kids now a days are getting out of hand and the society should come together and do something about it. And parent should not always think of their children as angels and try to cover for them, it should be embarrassing enough to be doing that.

I couldnt believe when i watched the movie that it was a true story and i had to look it up. I think that the society has much to do with the behaviours of most american kids. Some adults fail to discipline their child and some who try are afraid of the law. louisianaman1968 said that its normal for them to act like that, well i guess it normal in america, where im from (Jamaica) its not. In my 21 years on the earth i wouldnt even think of acting like that. we get many harsh punishment for even the simplest thing from school admin as well as our parents. Believe me ive gotten smacked for things ive done and thats an understatement. And because of that harsh discipline im a young adult with pride and manners. ive learnt not only to respect my elders but my peers as well. Basically i believe most American children are spoilt and their parents are unable to discipline them because of the law. So i think it has to do with not only culture and the society but the parents who should take a stand for unruly behaviour, despite the law. If you cnt control your kids send them here, when you get them back, they wont even think of calling the cops.

Leave these girls alone. They are teenagers, as we all were once. There is really no excuse for the way they treated others, I don't condon that, but the store and video, drinking, etc., it's all normal. They made mistakes and hopefully they have learned by them. They will be a better person after all this. I think maybe a lesson has been learned here. And as for cheerleaders being sluts and whores, and bubble headed blondes, you should be ashamed of yourself for even thinking that. People who live in glasses has shouldn't throw stones. Most people who make asumptioms of others, especially when they don't even know someone, are covering for their own faults and mishaps.

Being a teenagers doensn't allow you to be obnoxious and disrespectful to yourself or others! And when I was a teenager (and I cheerleader), I didn't go arounddoing absurd things (I didn't drink and still don't...that's another story for another time). You don't have to go around doing ridiculous things to enjoy being a teenager or life. Kids now a days have gotten far out of control then the yester years...it's even worse now because they document it on myspace with camera/video phones.

I do agree about how tacky it is to talk about cheerleading all together. Cheerleader IS A SPORT!! It brings together a sense of sisterhood and dedication. Girls and guys for that matter, get scholarships to schools just like any other team sport.

I just watched the movie also and I was enraged at how pushy parents and spineless administrators allowed these girls to escape consequences of their unacceptable antics. I remember reading about this case when it happened and from what I can tell, the movie seemed to portray all of the involved parties properly. I applaud the cheerleading coach for refusing to give up and fighting "the system" to make sure these girls didn't get away with acting like spoiled ***. Good for her!

I have to add that my view is not towards all cheerleaders. It angers me that these cheerleaders have made it harder on other cheerleaders who are acting responsible. It definately is not fair to them. This is a case where the principal abused her authority with bias towards her own daughter. She should NEVER work in a school atmosphere again, she cannot do so without being bias. You cannot bend the rules for your children and their friends. The law won't and you are just making it harder for your child. And I feel that the principal and others who were diciplined for this situation were not diciplined enough. I raised two girls on my own and I can guarentee you that if one of my daughters talked to me the way that girl did her mother, or if they spoke to a teacher in a disrespectful way, they'd be picking their teeth up off the ground!!! And don't say "oh they're just kids, they will do that". I don't agree, they do what you as a parent ALLOW them to do. That's where the problem lies, the parents are too busy trying to be their friends and not their parents.

I just watched the movie and if even HALF of it is accurate, I'm ashamed of not only the unruly spoiled biotches called cheerleaders, but THE PRINCIPAL who apparently allowed her daughter to run the school thru her!!!! Those girls should have never been allowed to go as far as they did. While watching the movie I kept saying over and over in my mind "this is a TRUE story"???!!! I'm from Texas and I'm sorry, but the McKinney school district is an embarressment to the state of Texas, one that they will never live down!!!

  • Posted By: michellet1121 @ 08/02/2008 11:25:26 PM

This story just made me realized that I have to do all I can to raise my daughter to be a self-respecting, compassionate and kind person! These parents failed at the job! They failed because they probably have some sense of entitlement themselves. Let's hope the trend stops. These girls should have been sent to alternative school and let them deal with the gang members and those kids who do serious crime outside the school...then we would have seen how bad ass they would have thought they were.

  • Posted By: zimm1225 @ 08/02/2008 11:16:30 PM

Absolutely disgusted that parents let their children behave like wild, ignorant, abusive people with no morals, values, and respect for themselves and others! It reflects poorly on what kind of family life they have and the lack of personal responsibility that those girls have. They are in for a rough life ahead and in any interpersonal relationship. My blood boils when I think about what those creepy and nasty girls did. They will pay the consequences and only that will be the sweetest of all!

Mrs. Theret...you should be totally embarrassed for not only allowing your spoiled brat to disrespect authority, but for enabling her bad behavior. <Shakes Head> Shame on you Mrs. Theret!!!

i went to a small school in a very, very small town. We had a group of girls that were always the cheerleaders. They were nothing like these girls. They were straight A students, They were kind and polite. If any one of them had ever behaved the way that these girls did, they would have been kicked off of the squad. No second chances, and definately no school board backing them up. It is not fair to classify all cheerleaders as "bubble- headed sluts". From what I saw and heard (I was fairly good friends with a few of them) cheerleading is a sport. There is quite a bit of competition, not only among the girls, but also between different squads. As a matter of fact, the squad captain is still one of the best teachers I ever had. The only incident that I can recall that was serious at all is when some of the girls publicaly accused the coach of innapropriate relations with a male senior. The accusations were found to be completely false after the school board conducted an investigation. ALL of those girls were promptly kicked off the squad and were not allowed to return.

There is too much sex in the so called sport. These girls are whores in the making. Don't need sex to play football. Brats, brats, brats, brats all of them and the parents are TOTAL JACKASSES whose priorities are in their ass.

  • Posted By: tiff7137 @ 08/02/2008 7:25:03 PM

That is the most ridiculous comment I've ever seen. Cheerleading is a sport like any other. Are you forgetting girl's basketball and volleyball teams? Cheerleading has NOTHING to do with sex (besides the common male fantasy about "making it" with a cheerleader). The skirts are short because its easier to do jumps and gymnastics. Oh, and the thing about girls feeling powerful and entitled? You're an ass. Did some cheerleader stomp all over you in high school? Or did they just ignore you?
Twitch their butts? I don't even know what the hell you're referring to. Your comments are offensive and ignorant. Cheerleaders work their asses off running laps, building massive stunts and spending all their spare time supporting their school. Besides, they are young girls! Any girls participating in promiscuous sex and radical drinking are suffering from a common problem of LOW SELF-ESTEEM coupled with inactive or overactive parenting. By the way, bullying is in every clique... You are being a bully right now.

With a name like "tiff" I presume short for Tiffany, you would think that cheerleading is a real sport. Most cheerleaders are blond BUBBLE HEADS!!!

    • Posted By: seschris @ 08/02/2008 8:55:27 PM

With a name like "tiff" short for Tiffany I presume. Well, you probably are or was one of those BUBBLE HEADED BLOND cheerleader too. That explains the venom in your comment and the profanity. Cheerleading is NOT a real sport!

I don't think that this woman should ever be put in charge of another school again if she can't even control her own daughter. I believe that the reason children are the way they are these days is because the law has taken all the rights away from the parents and given the kids all the power. If the parents or teachers do something the kids don't like all they have to do is call CPS and the adult is ruined. I just don't understand the logic in letting the schools use corporal punishment on students but if parents do the same thing they get thrown in jail. There is something very wrong and twisted about that. Think about it.

  • Posted By: gracefortheday @ 08/02/2008 1:09:34 PM

and to even TRY to pass these kids off as some kind of innocent 'blame the coach' crap? please. she just wanted exposure? please. THEY WERE BUSTED WHEN THE PICS FROM THE CONDOM STORE HIT THE WEB. they're not innocent. yes we all make mistakes and do things we're not proud of, especially in our teens, and especially with peer pressure. but, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

if i was a teacher, or any adult for that matter, but ESPECIALLY one in authority, and some bratty kid flipped me off or told me to shut up, that finger would be permanently dislocated from the rest of their body and i would dare the admin or any other parent to cross me on it. And, conversely, if my kid ever flipped off a teacher or principle, if the principle didn't remove the finger, the finger would be promptly removed as soon as i laid eyes on my kid. summary...BE THE ADULT...BE THE PARENT...THE KIDS ARE CRAVING IT...EVEN DYING FOR IT. all you need to do is read the news every day.
