      "Runned"?

  • Posted By: ApolloKnowsAll @ 10/26/2008 3:11:06 PM

    Pronographicazation of our youth.

We need to step in, be strong and say that we do not want these programs on our channels, at our schools and it is not tolerable behavior.

      "Pronographicazation"

Wow, I'm from Texas and the High School I came from would have never allowed this kind of behavior cheerleader or not...I can't believe parents and school officials went along with these kids...I have 3 grown kids & 4 still in school and you can bet my kids will NEVER get away with acting in this manner..I think parents these days and schools need to take back control of our children...If we would have acted in that manner as teenagers our parents would have beaten us within an inch of our lives and rightfully s!!!!!

ok first off i don't know who the parents are that let there kids get away with this but they must not have been ready to be a parent when they had them. I'm not saying that you shouldn't defined your kid if you know that they're right, but those five girls were in the wrong completely.I'm glad I have parents that know when i'm being a brat. Although the parents should have seen right through them, those girls got away with whatever they wanted and kept doing more and more. May I remind you these are senior girls acting like they are freshman. And the sad thing was, know one would step up to them including parents or teachers. Also me being a cheerleader, this is straight BS. My coach would never let it get that far. Plus my parents would never lat it get that far. Not even the teachers would cuz they hate kids as it is. All i'm saying is that these are the kinda girls that make cheerleaders look like slutty good for nothing self centered ***

"When one teacher told a squad member to quit chatting on her cell phone in class, the girl replied, "Shut up, I'm talking to my Mom." On a separate occasion, she offered this response to the teacher's reprimand: "Pull your panties out of a wad." "

Um, sorry? Is this supposed to be different than just about every other school I've been to, where there are usually a few rebellious students who mouth off at the teachers?

As far as the pictures go - seriously, have the author and the entire community involved in this not been on the Internet lately? These girls didn't even expose themselves. I'm not necessarily saying it sounds like they were acting wonderfully, but I've known LOTS of teenage girls who acted like this. The "bad girl" thing where a teenage girl comes into some kind of sexuality faster than her peers and is frequently rebellious and considered an outcast goes back a LONG time, guys.

My *junior high* made this situation look like Bible study. Thirteen-year-old girls having sex, fights every week where a crowd the size of a boxing match would gather just to egg it on, huge 200-lb+ kids threatening to beat the crap out of tiny seventh-graders. That's L.A. for you, but we didn't have any national newsmagazine covering us, and there would have been no way to spark outrage about us either, because other schools were worse. It's not to say that the state of our schools and our students is great, but to portray this kind of behavior as the height of juvenile delinquency is REALLY out of touch. My guess is that the only reason these girls are getting so much attention is that they go to a school where football is one of the overriding passions, and even then, I have to be like, "What? Have you talked to any teenage girls lately?"

The article and the state of its author suggests to me that one of the really big problems is that the older generation is too busy with their own beliefs about propriety to understand what's going on.

This issue went on for QUITE awhile before anything was brought out in public. I think the girls thought they ruled the roost because one of them happened to be the Principal''s daughter. THESE girls were HIGHLY immature and material. They should be assigned community service until they graduate and get a dose of reality in the real world.

Need HELP! What are the legalities to a allowing a pregnant Cheerleader to stay on the Squad?

  • Posted By: missledoc @ 10/22/2008 5:34:09 AM

Unlike Cardoza09, let's hope McKinney North High and other Texas schools graduate students who can actually spell and write...

I went to school in Southeast texas and have to say these girls were crazy, but when it comes to the athlete's at my school and what they got away with they seem normal. I remember a teacher/coach at my highschool telling a football player to run before the cops came after he attacked a friend of mine. The state of Texas has always protected their athletes and always will. And it's gonna take a lot more than the national knowledge of the Fab Five to change that factor. If you attend Highschool in the state of Texas as an athlete you are considered a god or goddess it has always been that way and always will be.

I don't know what school district would or should hire the principal or asst. principal after this. I wouln't. By now we know kids learn manners at home. These mean apples didn't fall far from their parent's tree. In wealthy West County, outside St. Louis, MO, you have parents dictating to teachers and administrators about how hard some of the tests are. I guess since the parents pay so much tuition they get to decide which tests are hard and which ones are not.

More Texas values, ripe for export.

This was George W. as a youngun.

Wionder what Church these girls go to. Kill for the American Jesus. Kill for the American Jesuss.

I lived in Dallas for a time. Laughed my head off. Cheech and Chong have nothing on these fine conservatives. The fact that they see themselves as Christian and having something to teach the world, instead of just hilarious hell-raisers, that's what concerns me most.

Just from this article, it sounds like the whistleblower (Ward) got hung out to dry, considering that none of the cheerleading coaches were able to reign these ugly young women in.

Parents probably shouldn't be allowed to be principals of their own children, at least not without heavy oversight by the school district. In this scenario, though, the school board comes out clean, even though they could have had more involvement in the school, and been more aware.

EXCUSE ME MFENWICK THE POLICE NEED TO FIND YOU WHERE EVER YOU ARE. YOU ARE A TEACHER AND YOU ARE LUSTING AFTER TEENAGE GIRLS. GIVE US A CLUE WHERE TO LOCATE YOU BECAUSE YOU NEED HELP.

You cannot control what goes on in another person's mind. You can control or prevent his actions only. I have never nor will I ever touch anyone under 18. I have taught for 20 years and have an impeccable record. True, I am not as well-liked as I once was due to my stance on the Iraqi War and a few other issues, but that's just too bad. I do not apologize at all for my lecherous comments. I am being honest. If every male teacher were honest he would say the same things. Yes, I attend the car washes every spring, summer, and fall and donate up to $2,000 of my own money to help the cheerleaders of our school attend camp, buy new uniforms, attend NCA championships, etc. I even volunteer to drive the van or chaperone when needed. Cheerleading is not viewed as a sport at our school, despite the many attempts by the boosters. I would say with all the help and support I give our cheerleaders I am entitled to a little naughtiness, wouldn't you?

      • Posted By: marybeth08 @ 08/05/2008 11:44:00 PM

ewww no. they are children. naughtiness is not allowed. period and it is ridiculous that you think it should be regardless of their choice in extra curriculars. As an educator it is your job to protect the students and it doesn't sound like you are doing a very good job. What if one of those girls was your daughter?!

        • Posted By: farneyblakeley @ 08/25/2008 2:15:00 AM

haha, high school girls are children. Don't try to tell them that

  • Posted By: aburris33 @ 08/24/2008 10:54:05 PM

waaaacckkkk....what is so special about cheerleaders? we have always known they were *** and airheads...did we expect them to be actual leaders?..they lead the cheers thats it. no one says wow we need to make a big decision let's call in the cheer squad

    • Posted By: farneyblakeley @ 08/25/2008 2:12:32 AM

Well said. But this is a small Texas town you are talking about here. In their minds, the people who are cool in high school really are the community leaders. That guy might think a teenager giving fellatio to a candle is "creepy" but in the real world people pay to see that $hit.

  • Posted By: rockyb38 @ 08/24/2008 11:03:19 PM

If these *** were Black or latino in an innner city school, they would of been kicked out of school. The principal who was the mother and the cheerleader coach should not be allowed to teach or run a school-ever. And the girls should of gotten kicked out.

  • Posted By: ShaneJ_2216 @ 11/16/2007 5:34:22 PM

This is something that has been blown out of proportion. Things like this happens in every town. You show me one high school where there is not some of the kids that booze it up. There has to be more behind this story. Something is being hidden. When i graduated from school, We had several girls that had actually been on the "Girls Gone Wild" Videos, and almost everyone showed up to prom drunk...This is something that can be handled by the school officials...And as for firing the Principal/mother, you show me a mother who raises perfect kids, and ill show you my idol.!! She should not have lost her job over this.

    • Posted By: NinaVo @ 08/24/2008 10:35:30 PM

      Where are they now?
Why doesn't Newsweek act like a real news organization and followup on how these girls are doing now that they are out of school? Whose gone on to Harvard( if any); whose gone on to State U, whose working at McD's?

    • Posted By: estarla @ 12/27/2007 1:21:12 PM

Wow! Talk about "enabling," your comment is the classic psychological example of such. You might want to look that up if you don't know what it means.

      • Posted By: HJJ1976 @ 08/03/2008 1:34:39 AM

You hit it on the nose. The person who wrote that comment either must be involved or a parent of someone involved. I have lived in several towns, big and small, and I have never witnesses such behavior. Sure, there were a few kids in my high school who did stupid stuff, but the parents were quick to put them in their place and the schools had little tollerance. This town, these people should be ashamed.

    • Posted By: mckinneydad1 @ 12/27/2007 10:27:10 PM

From my understanding- the Principal (mom of one of the cheerleaders) was turning a 'blind eye' on the situation because her daughter was involved and it 'might look bad on the school'. As a mom- you should do what it right.

"TEENAGERS EXPERIMENT W/ ALCAHOL ALL THE TIME . THAT IS WHATS CALLED THE TEEN AGE EXPERIANCE. THEY NEED TO GET OVER IT!"

That's great, really. Do you pay attention to the thousands of deaths that result from this so called "teenage experience?"

Listen, I'm a teenager, and I'm not a moron. I know the difference between right and wrong. And I would appreciate it if we could be treated in such a way that gives us a little value; we are not ten year old kids anymore, we have to take responsibility for our falls. I completely agree with pixie. Basically, is the conclusion that we are not supposed to be given any power as teenagers, and then shoved out into the real world as adults and told to fend for ourselves? If you boil a lobster gradually, it won't notice it's being boiled; gradually ease children into adulthood, as well. This was a sore failure of these girls' parents and a sore failure of themselves as young women. They are the stereotype my generation fights against - we aren't actually stupid, and we do have consciences. Telling a teacher to shut up or flipping of a coach is in no way excusable. I mean, come on, anyone who's seen five minutes of The Cosby Show knows that.
