You added, "but the music was so great" and that's the unsung (pun intended) point: the fascination with 1968 isn't confined with those of us who were in and of it, it seems as though all those born long after list the music of the 60s as their personal favorites. In the late 60s I admitted that some of the swing music of my parents' era was fantastic, but it wasn't what I looked to hear when I tuned in Cousin Brucey! But all my kids want to hear, play and buy music of the 60s. I feel sorry for them for not having "their own" sound.
