The fact that former-President Bush appointed the Chairman of the National Petroleum Council - the chief lobbyist for oil interests in Washington, D.C.,- to also "Chair" the former-President's "alternative energy committee" evidences that Bush never had any interest in "alternative energy" and took steps to insured his administration would never receive any recommendations to develop alternative energy. Not only did he consign the last 8 years as essentially "lost" in regard to developing alternative, clean energy sourses, but by these steps he "turned the people" of the USA "over to their enemies", i.e. the Middle East oil producers and even Venezuela as it is presently oriented. Turning the people of the USA over to their enemies is the fundamental definition of the crime of treason. So is "desertion", which is what Bush was guilty of during the Vietnam war while in uniform by failing to report to his newly assigned post for 18 months when he was transferred by order of the Texas Air National Guard. So in reality, he had never changed his attitude, nature or even his modus operandi from his old "drinking days" through his presidency. This country has elected a number of genuine and sometimes not-so-genuine "war heros" to the Presidency, but never someone actually guilty of desertion in time of war or treason in office. Times have certainly changed.
