What idiot in Wahsington had to balls to even have their name associated with this statement. I think that every name that is associated with this decission, or possibility of decission, should have their name published along with their so called reason. There is no reason what so ever (that would be good enough) to kill any animal that has lived on this ground for as long as these horses have. I am quite sure that there has to be some place that these animials can be moved (that does not belong to some one in Washington) to live out their lives in peace. What makes me so very angry is that it all comes down to we humans thinking that our space is so much more important than any animial. To tell you the truth, I have not even read the story, but I can just about guess that it has to do with either land or money, that is if Washington is involved.

Leave the horses alone. The slower 48 stops Alaska from killing wolfs, and they kill babies moose and other animals. They are just big baby killers. You want to save them and KILL the horses. Kill the baby killers and save the horses. You poeple in the lower 48 buy oil for countries that want to kill everyone of us!!!! But you lock up OUR oil and gas. Gas is 10 dollars a gallon in the villages. our towns are telling people to leave because there is no heat. Shameful

This just goes to show how ridiculous the so called people of America think. It just gets worse and worse. Get real. Why can't they run free? They have been for years. Do you need to "build" more homes for people because there are too many in America as it is, or there needs to be more room for "Corporate" america. This is a pathetic and I mean a pathetic topic. Get a life, or better yet why don't the people who think this way just go away. The mustangs don't need you in their land!

Leave the mustangs alone. For those of you who have not seen a heard of mustangs out in the wild it is a sight to behold; a truly magnificent experience.

LEAVE THE HORSE'S ALONE!!! They are about the only thing that is still "FREE" in this country. The horse's should hunt the hunters, corral them & send them off to the slaughter house's. It's amazing that the government worries more about the horse's then it does about the homeless children in this country. It sickens me as to what this country has become.

"Euthanize" sounds a little too humane, too much like the alternative is intractable suffering unto inevitable slow death. The following three terms are less pleasant, but more applicable to humane herd management: 1. Castrate 2. Neuter 3. Snip-snip

Don't forget, though, they're our representatives in Washington, who with their mixed agenda and to the chagrin of the same special interests that called them on the horse herd issue have reintroduced the grey wolf to these same regions

So if we are going to euthanize these animals because they are non-native, why can't we euthanize all the illegal immigrants? They are "non native". Or child predators, rapists, murderers, and pedophiles? Or would that be considered cruel to do because "they are human beings and they have rights"?? After reading this, the people that came up with this idea are worse than animals. This is so typical of the way our nation thinks, if we don't like it or agree with it, get rid of it. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

I am not sure if my comment posted before so I am sending it again....
This is in response to BOAPW:
I will agree that wild mustangs were transplants(not nessesarily escapees) from Mexico and Spain. (I believe that Columbus brought some over from Spain) However, these animals were brought to this counrty in late 1400's and early 1500's. (and probably later years as well) To say that these horses excaped...If they escaped it was probably from American Indians. Anyway, Unless you are a direct ancestor of American Indians, it would be safe to say that these horses have been in this country longer than most American people. (that would also make them more native to this country than most Americans too!)
Therefore, they have more rights to be free to graze than we do to take over thier habitat.

BOAPW - just another case of human beings interferring with nature. So what they live here now and that is their home. How dare the government decide to kill animals because it interferes with their needs. If they don't belong than nature will handle it. Until than government needs to BACK OFF!!

PEOPLE ARE CRAZY! LEAVE THESE AMAZING CREATURES ALONE, THEY WERE HERE FIRST AND HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO LIVE ON THIS PLANET LIKE ALL CREATURES. WHO ARE YOU TO PLAY GOD!
THIS COUNTRY IS FALLING APART, OUR FORE-FATHERS WOULD BE SO OUTRAGED ON HOW THIS COUNRTY IS BEING DESTROYED.

I hate this country for how it treats animals. I would rather 2 million wild horses roaming around than 2 million selfish humans. What about the "land of the free?" There's nothing free in the U.S. Everything has a price...even freedom!

i think the wild life is amazing, and i feel very sorry for being rude with my toughts. i mean wild animals and wild life is extraordinary and theres nothing to do with sickness, but sometimes you want to say something against somebody and you feel this is like a wild animal but all the living creatures are great, and i like horses.so we should care for everykind all life in every aspect.me is daniel villagra
