umm... has anyone checked to see where hillary is menopause wise. could you imagine a hormone ravaged woman running a country that already has to be balanced very carefully. being a woman, i can say that this is a question i definately want answered. she might be not so keen on emotion, but that doesn't mean she gets to skip menopause just because she won't like it. besides the fact that i wouldn't vote for her based on her plans for the country and the war, i definately won't be voting for her based on the possiblility of waking up one morning and finding out she's rearranged the country, or endangered the armed forces (and possibly my husband with them!) based on a hormonal whim. -Esther

When voting anyone into any leadership role, their character MUST be considered. Our character is the source behind every move and decision we make. Yes, Hillary's lack of emotion and emotional repression plays a major role in my choice in 2008. She will not get my vote, and not because I am judging her based on her marriage. She will not be getting my vote because she doesn't stand for anything "American". And to the person who thinks all the major issues here in the states (education, federal deficit, etc.) are far more important than "National Security"...you are seriously brain-washed by the liberal media. What do you think National Security is? If we abandon this fight, we will surely perish at the hands of the depraved Islamic Jihadians. Yes, our issues at home need to be reckoned, but preserving life as we know it here is of utmost importance. Don't think for one minute that everything you hear on ABC/NBC news is 100% fact. The media is SERIOUSLY slanted to the "Left". Try watching a far less biased reporting agency like Fox News. And, no, I don't just believe everything Bush says...But I do credit him for having the balls to shed light on the terrorist nations, which was what Bill Clinton should've done while he was in office. Clinton knew it wouldn't be a "popular" decision, and he cared more about his image than the welfare of our nation. As far as I'm concerned, he has the blood on his hands of innocent Americans who died on Sept. 11th.

What do you say about a woman who stays with her husband for power and fame in light of scores of adulterous relationships. All these people who love Bill Clinton in my mind if a man is going to lie to and cheat on his wife (a relationship that requires ultimate trust) what is he willing to do to the country.

Very surprised to read about Vince Foster and his suicide. Curious to know if it had direct connection with Hillary Clinton. Are any of Mr. Foster's records taken with force?

How could anyone in right mind say anything bad about ANY body when we have a war criminal in the White House that has MURDERED OVER 50,000 INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN? YOU AMERICANS ARE SICK AND I SEE WHY THE WORLD HATES US, PATHETIC

Go back to where you came from.... what maybe you need to read the constitution, just cause your born here doesn't make you an American. It takes heart

To me, NEWSWEEK is usually "left of center" and biased. So is this review a true account of what the book says- or does it "pull punches"? If it is an accurate review, then it is a pretty soft and toothless book that fails to reveal what a bitter, histrionic shrew Mrs. Clinton really is. I have had the honor of attending some FBI schools- where I spoke to subjects who served within the Secret Service during the Clinton years. according to them, her emotions are PLENTIFUL: lamp-throwing invectives, cursings, and malignings await anyone and anything in her path. People who believe a sad, sham of a marriage has no bearing on job- performance are foolishly deluded.

I don't disagree with the tone of this aricle. But I do disagree with the thinking that becase Hillary Clinton is a woman, she should be emotional. Why is it that if a woman isn't crying, sobbing, and moaning all the time, she's seen as cold, while a man could operate the same way and be considered normal. This is a double-standard that wouldn't be in the headlines if this politician were a man. Frankly, I admire her strength and think she would be good for America.

How one run's their marriage is indicative of how they would run the country-it reflects her choice to stick her head in the sand and not do anything. That's the antithesis of how Americans need our leader to act.

I find it interesting that the defenses go up when talking of Hillary's "warmth" and friendliness. For Pete's sake, that's what won the election for Bill - His connection with people. Of course, that wouldn't work for Hillary anyway - she is what she is. I think she's a risky candidate for the Democrats but the best shot they have.

Who knows Bill and Hillary Clinton better than Bill and Hillary Clinton!!! Their marriage is their business. The last time I checked they've been married to each other since the inception of their marriage and never been divorced, despite all the so-called "problems" they've encountered in their marriage. What marriage hasn't had any problems? Tell me and I'll call you a liar! Why not leave the marriage of the Cintons alone and write about Iraq War and the surge in spending on this war, children's healthcare, immigration and illegal aliens, corruption in corporate America and in government, uninsured Americans, the deficit, etc, etc. Why not talk about the great services the Clintons have contributed to the Ameerican society and the world as a whole? Why not spend time harping on the atrocities of ALL the dictators of our worl today (and not just Saddam Husein) and leave all this nonsense about the marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton? There are more important things in America to write about, but I guess there are still folks around who just want to hear and read nothing else but about Bill and Hillary Clinton's marriage life. That's just a shame!,

Good grief, Hillary sure isn't any worse than Cheney in not displaying emotions in public or private. But at least *her* actions - the humanitarian ideas and programs she supports, indicate a lot more heart and compassion than Cheney or the other NeoCons EVER have displayed. She's supported these things all her life so I don't think she's just being cynical about it. I'll take humorless intelligence over the moronic optimism of Dubbya any day.

What do you mean Cheney doesn't show emotions? He always looks constipated.

  • Posted By: Csquare @ 10/16/2007 9:54:59 AM

"Unthinking emotion has always been pitiful to me......................" the First Lady is a woman determined not to surrender to emotion, even when her husband and the nation have. "
Maybe the Vulcans really are here among us. Is that the way she would run the Presidency? Denial is not the way to form policy or lead a nation. It can set a dangerous precedent. Worse yet, it can kill people. This is scary!

Everyone is so concerned about if she would handle her presidency like her marriage. Are you Serious!!!! When you have a family issues do you fall apart at work ?????? Not if you want to have a job, Right!!!

I really find this hysterically funny....so he is a womanizer, guess what he is not the only one in the wide world and certainly not the only one to ever serve in a public office and will not be the last. If he was Joe Citizen next door not a soul would care except his wife and children.
She did what a million other women in the world before and after did and will do. She choose not to further add to themedia circus, thier marriage is not our business and never should have been. We do not know what goes on behind closed doors and to be honest I do not wish to know.
What I wish to know about our elected officials is CAN they run this country, I do not look to them as a moral guide to my private life. I do not care what happens in the privacy of thier own home. Have we stooped being our own moral compasses.
They remain married which in the long run is far more important to them then much else. That is thier own private choice as is everything in thier relationship and that IS NOT our business.

Mrs. Bill Clinton is ruthless and dishonest. A vote for Mrs. Clinton would launch this country on a no return path to a One World Government. She does not respect our Constitution, she considers the American Citizens ignorant peons who need an elitest like her and the Socialist Holliwood crowd to make decisions for us. I am a college graduate who has read everyting I can find about Mrs. Bill Clinton. She is power hungry. I, and many other citizens believe Hillary is a Marksist. A Mrs. Clinton Presidency would destroy our
    country!!

Interesting, a cxollege graduate who can'y spell Marxist. Your description of the constitutional issues left me confused. At first I thought you were talking about our current president.

      • Posted By: Realist @ 10/16/2007 5:40:27 PM

You are right about our current president. Ignore the party labels, they are all from the same cloth. Americans need to realize this and not vote party lines any longer. We need true Americans running for office and that doesn't mean those who are well connected or raise the most $$. After all, look at where we are at with these lifetime politicians.
