It's difficult with Hillary to accept that she hasn't been emotional or that emotions aren't a rational part of the human experience or her public life. Having heard her silience with Bill and his aldultery, no one can say that she won't be as cold and fridged to the American people when things don't go her way in government according to her rationale. As a canddate, she's setting her own rules, image, and accepting the pressure until election day when the emotional ballon goes pop. I just don't see the loving caring part of her being apart of Americana and it will be confusing if she does. Bill at least had that.....

Since when did a presidential candidate's lack of emotionalism become a political issue? Could this be a ploy to turn women voters against a woman candidate? I wonder how many men would consider not voting for her because she is not "emotional" enough. As a woman, I am insulted that this has become a political issue.

By the way, "Martie", one of the main teachings of Jesus is to FORGIVE one another. When are you going to forgive Bill Clinton, his wife has.

I have no idea what the teachings of Jesus is. Did he talk to you, were you there during that time. As far as I know, some man wrote (transcribed) those words, and as we all know man tends to lie to justify his needs or deeds.

Marriage, as traditionally known, is to be til death do us part, also for better or for worse. Love is putting up with all the crap that comes with a marriage. The problem with marriages today is there's no room for mistakes. It's not easy to spen your entire life with one person, on both sides. I think both the Clinton's should be given a lot of credit for their perserverence.

I think Hillary Clinton is in denial - that she has a marital problem. That she even has a marriage is a big question mark! She portrays herself as the ideal person in the whole country to be president. That is a travesty. She knows she has a problem in her family life, but she lets on a smiling, ever-so-happy wife of Bill Clinton is so revolting. Who is she trying to impress? Her promises of "I'll do everything for you' to the American people is too shallow. And if she is really that great, why is she raising so much money? She should be able to win the peoples' votes without spending millions and millions of dollars. The dollar sign is all over her face - that she will win the presidency because she has a lot money? Her millions do not impress me. It depresses me! She is senator from New York, but she has not been in New York helping people there, especially, upstate. Instead she is all over the country running for president. Take her Seante seat away from her; she is not doing a thing for New Yorkers!

By no means could one judge me as a fan of the Clinton's. Having said that, I agree that however Hillary Clinton coped with her husband, Bill Clinton's infidelity, it is to her credit. Discussion of her husband's extramarital affair is out of place and not a part of her campaign. The fact is, the Clinton's are still married and they are entitled to work out their own marital problems between themselves. Marriage between two people of the opposite sex is sacred before God, and discussion of the Clinton's marriage should be off limits to all American's.

Erode the constitution? Question, Realist, have you ever actually read or looked at our Constitution? What about Supreme Court precedent that interprets it? I think you're confusing it with the ten commandments or something.

    • Posted By: Realist @ 10/16/2007 5:31:01 PM

Yes, I understand all branches of government very well. If you look at judical decisions in light of the constitution or politics you'd understand where my comments are coming from. As for your beloved Justice Stevens, he'd dispose of our constitution in favor of a world order without so much as a question being asked. Our constitution has been misinterpreted and ignored for many years. Since you have questioned my knowledge of this document, have you ever read the entire document? Have you ever reasearched the founding fathers? How amazed you'd be to find out the qualifications that all elected officals should have before having the opportunity to run for office. I dare say 99% of our office holders today could not stand up to their litmus test.

Enter Your CommenIluvjusticestevens and realist. The constitution is what it is. anyone who tries to interpret it is just guessing and adding their own impression or ideas to it. Granted it should be expanded because of the changing times. But since none of us was there during the signing or the discussion, the supreme court should not presume to put words into thier mouths or try to come up with ideas they think the founding fathers meant. verry arrogrant of them isn't it. But americans are that way, aren't they.

Realist, I'm sure the former Connecticut prep school cheerleader and current President must fall into the 1%, after all how many of our political leaders are cleaver enough to say things like "more better" and "misunderestimate"? First in my life time.

Detached from her emotions?......are we talking about the same Senator Hillary Clinton I know? At what point while she was the First Lady was she "detatched" from her emotions during the "Lewinsky-gate" affair? Perhaps it was the moment the secret service was perplexed on whether or not to intervene while she trashed the room around the President? (after all....their job is to protect the President at any cost)
The Clintons have colectively in the past, and I suspect in the future, render the capacity to feel emotion and act, albeit rational or irrational.........
(as hard as they might try not to...) engage in public and private emotional outburst void of discipline, intellect and candor..

if this is truly how she goes through life.emotionless, then I truly feel sorry for her. Emotions allow us the ability to love and respect other. To be emotionless like this is not healthy. I would not vote for someone who is so heartless and unfeeling. I want a real live human being not a robot.

  • Posted By: Godhelpus @ 10/16/2007 6:44:34 PM

It would be an unimaginable tragedy for the United States for Hillary Clinton to be our next president.
It would lead to unbearable tax increases, an unmanageable health care system and probable unconditional surrender to the terrorists in the middle east.

I agree that Hillary is emotionless. I also believe she is extraordinarily intelligent, and perhaps ahead of her time. Hillary, I believe, would make a good president; albeit a cold, unfeeling one, but, like an old schoolmarm, she would abide fools lightly. To me, just having Bill back in the White House will be fun. Personally, I'd vote for Bill again.

I think it's sad that people are forced to live out their private affairs in public. I don't think their marriage has any riding on how she will be as a Presidnent "when" she wins. I think she's shown true leadership in not faultering when her whole world was crashing down. She's a strong independant woman - you've got to admire that.

  • Posted By: eylla @ 10/16/2007 5:10:48 PM

Please, please, please do not let Hillary be president. We need someone in the White House who actually connects with the voters. Promises from candidates in every election are only to get them elected and we the American public want to believe them so we elect them. I have yet to see any of those promises come to furition or even remembered a year later. This election is different thought - no promises - just where they stand. We need to bring our children home from the war. (That's what they are - our children, most of them.) We need to take care of Americans first. Let's get this county back on track.

Do you know anyone in the military???? Most of us are proud to do what we do so you can have what you have and live the way you want!!!

      • Posted By: don't care @ 10/16/2007 6:42:15 PM

middleton, that's a bunch of crap. Most of the people who are in the military didn't join so we can have what we have and live the way we want. Most went in so they can better themselves and to acquire an education, or to just learn some basic skills. going to war was a bonus. Granted there are a few who are die hard and would be willing to die for their country. But most don't. There are a lot of benefits to joing the military.

So you shouldn't make generalization like that. Granted you might be in the military, but today's military is a lot different that ww11 or vietnam.

Why do think there aren't more young men and women joing the military.

  • Posted By: kimberlynn12 @ 10/16/2007 6:42:13 PM

I agree with ftcain. She is a pathetic weak woman. Her husband humiliated her during his presidency. Not only that, but then there she is still standing by his side. Pathetic excuse for a Woman.

  • Posted By: QueenMel @ 10/16/2007 6:42:02 PM

The Clinton's marriage is their business. Let's not forget, presidential candidate or not, Hillary Clinton (and her husband) is still very human. Hillary is bright, determined, and strong in the face of adversity. She is a leader, to say the least and should be respected for how she handles political affairs.

  • Posted By: rebeccam73 @ 10/16/2007 6:41:38 PM

If she is willing to over look her husbands affairs, what else is she willing to overlook?
