Dear Editor: Thank you for your informative expose on the gangland activities and lack of safety in Juarez, Mexico. As an immigration attorney in San Francisco, California, I am concerned about the safety of many of my clients going to the American Consulate in Juarez, Mexico to pick up their permanent residency cards and returning to the United States. None have been kidnapped todate but I am seriously contemplating a better and more inviting consular office until further notice from Newsweek to the contrary.

I am looking for Newsweek's coverage, priveleged, of the 2008 election. How can I read about the behind the scenes events that Katie Connelly and others experienced and wrote about?

On my homepage this morning , it said that a new study showed that the media had more positive coverage on Obama, than on McCain,....Yes,....that's right,....it does,.....because the candidate and the campaign are more positive, than McCain or Palin, or their supporters! How many solutions has McCain had, and how much time has he spent on the solutions to our problems? He was warned, the public doesn't want to hear the crap, that was thrown around during the primary, but solutions! He didn't listen, and now has turned to calling Obmama a Socialist, when he has said he wants to help the middle class as well, it's just that has no idea how! The republican party has never had the skill to do anything with the economy, look at the Ford administration 14% inflation, and the best they could offer was, WIN buttons, that meant Whip Inflation Now! That's it! The great Ronnie Reagan, invented the "trickle down theory", but as we found out the hard way, with overseas companies, that didn't believe in that theory, that it doesn't work in the 20th century, not to mention the current world market, when we have more of the same , coupled with our American companies joining the overseas companies, ...where? ....overseas! Bush's daddy didn't do a thing about the ecomomy, he just " raised taxes" , that's right, even after he said " read my lips ,..no more new taxes"! Along comes Bill Clinton, and because of his intelligence, and skill working with people, he balanced the budget for the first time in 40 years , and gave us the best ecomomy in 50 years! McCain should get negative coverage, ...he's negative, and he would be negative it elected!

Comment: Report the News the American Way with fairness. Your company has sunk to an all time low with a new flavor of tabloidism. Newsweek is filled with prejudice. You should print on every cover page; This tabloid is fill with prejudice and is bias. Read this tabloid can unseat your sense of fairness and honesty.

I am from Wasilla Alaska and traditionally a republican voter. A woman as well. I am very embarrassed the way Mrs. Palin is trying to stray from the real issues, not someone's middle name (who cannot control what your PARENTS name you.. any Eugene's out there?" to pointing fingers when she is clearly out of her element on a national playing field. She also assumes that Joe Six Pack is regular eveyday people who what, drink six packs? I don't get her. We Alaskan's for the most part do not understand how she even ended up on the ticket. Sorry about the other "folks' on here who seem to be anti-Barack due to his name and probably race apparently too. "Nut suckers" seem to be just as classy as this broad.

I think your magazine sucks for the way you presented the unretouched photo of Gov. Sarah Palin! You are clearly being unfair! Barack Obama's photo covers are clearly retouched! Shame on You!!!! I am cancelling my subscription!!!

Applause, applause! This sounds like a great help, and I will get hold of a copy as soon as I can. Next, create a similar assessment and teaching program for children at all ages and developmental levels, and begin assessment in kindergarten. We need to catch and help poorly socialized individuals as early as possible, along with their Mommies and Daddies. This is a very serious problem. We have far too much domestic abuse and homicide in our country. It needs to be treated on an emergency basis.

quite interesting, it's strongly connected with knowing yourself. I think I'm getting to know myself, It's not so easy, but I agree it makes your life easier, when you know and understand your emotions

sorry I meant to say, I find most people, at the gen. population don't know it exists or do not have it. it's kinda sad .cause without EI, your life is very empty!

I discovered emotional Intelligence when I was going thru divorce. It's an asset to have it. I find most people, at least the gen. population, whether you are educated/uneducated, traveled the world, was born rich or poor..does not matter..Emotional Intelligence can be achieved only thru mind boggling transformation of your self, a self discovery or rather what I call self evolution. it's a wonderful thing to have and I am glad that I have it
