Cry me a river, losers. A home should never be more than that; it should be a home. It's not an investment vehicle; anyone who thinks differently deserves what they get.

Cry me a river. A home should never be more than that, a home for you and your family. To ever imagine it as an investment vehicle is naive at best.

Why don't you relax and stop projecting into the future. It seems you are more concerned about money than you are your health, family, etc. Realize everything is cyclicle and will come around again. If you bought the house for investment then think about the story of Rip Van Winkle and if he'd invested a dollar one hundred years ago, where he would be now. Look up the story and stop worrying. Robert Burns

Instead of obsessing over the money end of it, relax and enjoy the beautiful home you've got and remember, everything always bounces back. Enjoy your health, home and each other, and stop worrying about the money. What you think about, you bring about. bob@wehavechoices.com

Hey Mr. Elliot; stop crunching the damn numbers and enjoy Allah good tidings on you and on your family. Everything is relative! If tomorrow the doctor tells you that your wife has a retard child in her womb or that you have a malignant cyst in your colon, you will be laughing at an unwarranted self inflicting anxiety for living in a house that is worth ((more than $189,000)). Otherwise, just give me the darn house and let ME deal with seeing it depreciate!!! in agony.

I'm sorry for your dilemma. There is a saying - If you play with the big dogs, be prepared to ......... I totally agree with the other comments. Why would you buy such a huge home? You would have been better off, since you could afford it, to have purchased or built a less expensive home and invested the rest of your money. There are many less fortunate people in the country that would wish for some food on their table to feed their children or toys at Christmas. Shame on you!

I agree with stopwhining. Then the Elliott's have to live in their home longer than they thought; boohoo. They should be ashamed of themselves complaining, instead of graeful and appreciative of what they have. This story makes me sick.

This story is sickening. The Elliots should be on their knees thanking God for having a lovely home and being able to afford it (not to mention food, clothing and a car). Many people have nothing. I feel no sympathy for the "plight" of the Elliots. Sounds much like an acquaintance of mine who always found a way to brag about her "Baldwin Brass, Manolo Blahniks" and a bunch of other crap that she seemed to think put her on a status level. Big deal...brass trimming and a pair of shoes. When you identify with stuff, you run the risk of sounding shallow, ungrateful and pompus.

This was to be expected. People have forgotten to be practical about their investments. Homes are meant so that people don't throw money away renting and simply to have a place to call their home. The returns alot of these people expected were unreasonable. Good luck to those that made multiple investments like these in house flipping. They're going to need it.

I??m so sorry to hear of your tragedy. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things improve for your and your gated community. I wouldn??t want to have you and your designer wife end up on normal street U.S.A. drinking unbottled tap water like the rest of us.

    God Bless Amerika!

Thats what you get for being greedy and not making money the old fashion way, which is by working. Everyone wants to be a rock star, everyone wants to make it rich with a 300,000 dollar return on their house in 3 years. Well guess what, its over, so live in the crappy apartment you were meant for. Home ownership isnt for everyone.

My parents bought their home to live in and did not consider it to be a cash machine, just a place to raise their family and be happy. Many of us are unable to afford even a modest home anywhere except in run down communities with high crime rates. This couple is living a nightmare? How about those who live in housing projects plagued by daily violence or elderly people who freeze tho death because they can't afford to buy oil. Who cares about this greedy, selfish, elitist, rich couple?

You're absolutely right, MusicB. We should be sympathizing with Roger and his family because of his short sightings and was thinking with his wallet instead of his brain. Let's all pass the hat and take up a collection to help the Elliot's out. I'll start, here's a nickel from me.

I don't think there is much jealousy going on here. The fact is that to alot of people, it is never well enough, good enough or sasticfactory. What most of these people are saying is that for these people to come into "FREE" money spend it the way they did, and then complain that they can't make more "FREE" money out of it, sounds like TOTAL GREED!!! It may not apply to many, but there is a movie called "On Deadly Ground" or it might be "Fire Down Below" it's a Steven Seagal movie...it talks about this kinda greed, these people could have millions, billions even trillions...and it is never enough...when is enough...enough? To the owner of this Brand New, lavish house, so called nightmare...wake up, most people would give up all there dreams....to be... in your nightmare.
