Pimm's has been the chosen spirit at posh British events for roughly 150 years. The spiced gin-based beverage's low alcohol content makes it the perfect thirst quencher for hot summer days. Now it's being hailed as a forgotten classic by mixologists this side of the pond. Never heard of it? Try Napoleon House in New Orleans (www.napoleonhouse.com) for some of the best around. Or make a Pimm's cup cocktail yourself. While Brits mix the spirit with bitter lemonade, champagne and selections of fruits or vegetables, sweeter-toothed Americans often substitute ginger ale or 7-Up. Try this recipe from cocktail king Dale DeGroff:

1-1/2 oz. Pimm's No. 1
3 oz. fresh lemonade
Fill with club or sweet soda.
Combine ingredients in a highball glass and garnish with a spear of cucumber and slice of apple. Cheers!
