IS WELL KNOWN THAT ALL PRIEST ARE GAY
IS WELL KNOWN THAT ALL PRIEST ARE GAY
Luis- your obviously a sheep that worships the all mighty "media"---
I happen to know a few priests that are retired and are not gay...They actually left the church after 30-40 yrs of service and are involved and living with women- So, keep your ignor---anus comments to yourself..
sooo busted and caught on tape. yet scramble around for a "safe" panic defense and imply that "i was only trying to weed out the homosexuals"? WTF!!! the church has to get a grip and come to terms with the 21st century and admit to themselves that cleansing has to start from within. (does the term, "clean your own closets before you try to clean others" ring a bell?) yeah, we all know this is the same church that took 500 years to forgive galileo and the same church that pulls the twinkie defense and finds excuses to blame others rather than stepping up, owning up and admitting that THEY have a problem. THEIR problem has NOTHING to do with satan or "homosexuals" underminding the church. wankers!!!
We seem to have forgotten the commandment from God where he said that a man should not lay with another man as it is an abomination to Him. Leviticus 20:!3. Also in Romans 1:26-27 it states that it is ungodly and unseemly. It cannot get any direct than that.
Well, if you would study the original passage in Greek and the context, you would find that is does get more clear than that. The original passage does NOT condemn two men laying together, but a man who would lie in the same bed as he does his wife. The original text and meaning is much different than the current translation, don't you think?
Okay, so GOD would not do it himself. Big deal. God should scoot over and make room for those he created, and want them to be happy also. A loving God would want his subjects to be happy. VERY SIMPLE.
For the public to assume that the Catholic church is without its problems is nothing short of naieve. I'm a proud Catholic, love my faith and the history of the religion and traditions that surrounds it. All institutions are flawed because human beings are flawed. Admittedly, the church does need to stand strong and deal with these perverts to the fullest extent of the law, and truly needs to incorporate some type of psychological testing in their seminaries in the hopes that future generations of priests are more suitable for the job.
The catholic church lives in a state of conformity and ignorance. Who and what says homosexuality is a sin? The bible? A man written book, which was put together by men according to their beliefs at the time. People need to step out of their ignorance and recognize and accept all people as they are. The catholic church needs to reevaluate their whole ideology. After all, if they are to live by the bible then the position of Pope should not be...after all the bible says not to worship idols.
The Holy Father is not an idol to be worshipped. He is revered as the leader of the Church. That is all. I my experience there is widespread misunderstanding about Catholics and what they worship (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) and what they revere (Mary, other saints, relics, etc.). Admittedly, I often find embarrassing the amount of attention some Catholics give to "incidentals" that are our "family traditions" but are totally unneccessary to salvation (like statues, candles, rosaries and holy water)/ No wonder it leads to others THINKING it's worship. It is not. "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me" still stands.
Brookien23, HURRAH FOR YOU. The Bible is a book written by men in their own era. To make it apply literally in the modern world is ludicrous.
I agree with the idolatry set-up that the Pope casts on the world. It is like alcohol in America. Even though it is involved in many deaths and illnesses it is still legal, and marijuana is not. The practice is too engrained in our history and societies--for better, or worse--that it would create too much havoc to change. I do suggest that you look into how and who actually had part in creating the Bible. I recommend www.marshillchurch.org. Nothing but Jesus.
How come Catholic Priests dont need bookmarks ??? They just bend over their pages.
Question: How do you get a Nun pregnant ?
Answer: Dress her up like an altar boy.

At least in the Episcopal Church they are out of the "closet". So you really have no complaints
Liberal Hypocritical Media LOVES to go after the Church. Period.
That's all this is really about.
At least in the Episcopal Church they are out in the open about it.
ok witch hunt we got it....except warlock hunt is more accurate
I have no doubt that there are still many millions of people who need religion in their lives in order to feel whole. But the catholic church, and many others, have abused the power believers have entrusted to them for centuries. Religion is a business, and a corrupt one at that. The Vatican is one of the richest organizations on Earth, a fact by itself that should cause anyone pause when they consider the preaching of humility, chastity and poverty that have been the Church's mainstay for hundreds of years. I am rarely a fan of the media, but in this case I have only applause for them. It is not wrong for this priest to be gay, it is only wrong for him to be gay and be part of an organization that preaches against homosexuality. It is the perfect snapshot of organized religion's biggest problem; hypocrisy.
I think the greater issue here isn't theology but the unnecessary sacrifice that Catholic priests think they must endure as a way to show God how obedient they are. It really discredits God's creation of marriage between a man and a woman. God calls us to be obedient by loving Him and our neighbor. There are many books in the Bible that glorify the heck outta marriage and the inherent beauty of each man and woman. As a man, I think it is shooting yourself in the foot by taking a celibacy vow. IT doesn't show more obedience because you are refraining from God's creation, it shows naivety. My guess, is that priests are addicted to masterbation and porn and ultimately that progression leads to acting out with another person. The progression of sin to death is clearly outlined in the book of James. And I've also been there.
Why is it that someone outside of the priesthood can choose to remain single and celibate of their own desire, but celibacy IN the priesthood is condemned? Oh, I forgot! It's because they are being MADE to take the vow. No one is holding a gun to their heads to make them join the priesthood, and they know the requirements up front. If they don't want to live by the rules, they can go somewhere else. Protestants allow their ministers to marry, but even there, it's no guarantee that they aren't going to break their vows either. It's just not talked about as much, because EVERYONE knows that while Christians are just the worst people in the world, Catholics in particular are just the most evil people there are. Face it, this is all about "the world revolves around me. I'm the most important person and I can do whatever I want because I am the center of the world." It has nothing to do with celibacy proving or not proving obedience to God, and Marriage being the ultimate sacrament. This whole thing is about "the rules don't pertain to me," and "we have to change the conservatism of Christianity so that no one feels bad for breaking the rules." God forbid anyone be made to feel like they've done wrong. That just wouldn't be right, now would it?
I think this is nothing more than a witch hunt and they are only attacking the catholic church. why dont we
hear about the gay babtists priests who molest little boys and girls and any other religeon for that matter.
only because the Catholic church is one of the oldest and largest christian community in the world. Others
are always out to discredit them to get more people to go thier way. when really they are just a bunch of hypocrits
mohrheart youshould change email name to noheart really you think that "gay" peoplemake a choice are you ignorant or just stupid this is who they are they have families relationships there is really no noticable difference. I gaurantee you have at least one gay relative if not more it is time for people to stand up and educate people like you you are disgrace to the land of the FREE and the home of the brave
I am a Catholic, but I used to be Protestant. My own youth minister made advances on me and my sister. No one spoke about it. The church he came from was not allowed to tell our church he had made the same advances on youth there. We were not allowed to tell the next place. So he could get a "fresh start" or some crap. There is a difference between forgiveness and complete lack of responsibility and consequences.
Who didn't allow you? The chuch? Fool, how many other children were abused because you didn't have the stones to stand up and say something.

really feel sorry for all the good, wholesome priests in the world (who outnumber the bad). They are the ones who suffer for these guys' faux pas (as a lapsedCatholic, I hesitate to say sins, it brings me back to my parochial school childhood). I guess my point is that so many priests are real men of faith, and wish to help others selflessly, so let's not forget them as we grow angry with the few that ruin their reputation.
