    this is why women should be "allowed" by the male rule to also worship and lead in Catholic and ALL Christ based Churches. Christ, my Lord and Savior loved women. males who lead the Chruches for the last 2,000 years have used and many times abused women into secondary and back seat roles in Churches. women are part and equal to men. Jesus never once stated that women were 2nd to men; only His followers did. HE allowed women to feed, follow HIM, administer to HIM and included them in the group well known as the 12 disciplies. It was a women who bore HIM, and it was women who were at His death mourning and witnessing for and to HIM. it was also a women who first saw HIM when HE rose from the dead. yet amoung the male church goers and leadership and in the Bible itself(written by male leaders...) women are never given the opproutinity to lead and guide Churches. they are left to do bake sales, teach in Sunday schools(a wonderful way to serve Jesus, but i am making a point here) and as wives of the leaders given some respect. yet, they make up most of all congregations, including the Catholic ones.

    men have for centuries abused their power over women and children. they will contunie to do so if allowed to by us women. we are the last defense for all children. we do not normally sexually rape children. women are at a miniscal percentage of incest,rapes, sodom of children. of course women in turn are also raped and sexually used by men in Chruches.

    the Catholic Church is run and contunies to run by evilness. for centuries this has gone,men or pedipohiles lurking everywhere for their next rape of a child or women(male or female). when will we stop ignoring the truth. no man or woman of God who is the Beloved Jesus would sexually abuse another.

    we as a gender(women) and as a species must stop the contunial rape, incest and sexually perversions constantly acted upon by males in Churches. this last story of the Catholic church is a example of the approval of the leaders to allow their priests - all men - to rape. if they had not been found out do NOT tell me noone in the Catholic church did not know what this pedophile and rapist was doing...they knew and still know. he was suspended. he should not be allowed to be a priest. he should be jailed and branded for the sexual predator that he is.

You are very correct there, if you recognize the Bible as the very words of God (teaching inspired by God and penned by men who were His servants), well, it's not the Roman Catholic Church you disagree with concerning homosexuality, its God and His Word that you disagree with. I struggle with behaviors that the Bible recognize as sin. I do not passively and selfishly say "this is how i was made" No, I say God help me to be Holy as you are Holy, renew my heart, renew my mind, change the way I have perverted the natural desires you gave me, help me to honor you with my body. I say this in humility. Why? I'm so far from perfect, Yet I will not defend sin and reject God's teaching.

You are very correct there, if you recognize the Bible as the very words of God (teaching inspired by God and penned by men who were His servants), well, it's not the Roman Catholic Church you disagree with concerning homosexuality, its God and His Word that you disagree with.     Chastity is a thing that should have never been. these men and women that hve to swear to it to be a religious teacher of more humans, just like them, were doomed form the begining. They are no different than
    us so why can't they have relationships that fail or surrive like us? Does it matter if it's male or female? Ohni forgot they have to answer to God , WHO MADE US ALL.

    Did it ever occur to anyone that the reason all these guys are horny as hell is because celibacy is unnatural?
    It's lunacy, trying to supress man's natural urges. it doesn't take a genius to know that this problem ain't going away anytime soon.

      Your're right; celibacy is not natural. It's a sacrifice made by someone called to serve God exclusively . One has no family in order to make oneself available to go anywhere at any time when called. One can only hope to persist by being disciplined and nurturing a deep prayer life. Catholics recognize that one has to have great strength of conviction and a close relationship to God to be able to take on the burden of celibacy and to make that sacrifice a joyful, freeing experience.
      I've known priests and religious who were really "saints", people who show me how to live their vows freely and happily...and I've known some that have become old and bitter. As long as we are all human, there will never be total perfection inside or outside the Church.

        I don't mean to pick a fight either, but I think the facts should be laid on the table. I thought the clarification of celibacy was made clear at Vatican II. Before the Council, a woman's sexual organs were thought to be unclean under the rules for Levitical priests udner the old Mosaic law. This was carried forward until it was proven that "priests" in the Catholic church were not subject to the same laws as the Levitcal priests, because they weren't Levitical priests nor under the Jewish law. Pope John XXIII is even quoted as saying the celibacy of the priesthood has no scriptural backing. He wanted it discussed during Vatican II but died part of the way through the Council. Pope Paul VI pushed for it and got it his way, that celibacy should remain in place for the Latin order. The new reasoning that came from the council is to reflect the Kingdom of Christ on earth (where Christ says that in resurrection, no one will be given in marriage). Am I wrong?

    Is anyone really surprised? The pedophiles get off basically (no pun intended). If the "universal" church taught only the scriptures and not tradition they wouldn't have these problems.

      I think your'e off on a tangent. The story is about homosexuality in the priesthood, not pedofiles in the priesthood. As it is, most pedofiles are heterosexual as the disorder is related to power issues and not sexuality.

    I personally could care less what anyone does on their own time. I do have a problem with homosexual priests telling children homosexuality is OK. It is OK to teach acceptance and forgiveness of others but dont promote homosexuality. I am personally tired of having all of this shoved in my face. Do whatever you want with your same sex partner but you dont have to make it a sideshow. It may be OK for youy but have some respect for others. If you want to be a homosexual dont become a religious leader. If you want to be a pedophile dont become a religious leader. If you cant keep it in your pants, dont become a religious leader. If you figure it out too late then resign from the church.

      Well, teaching children that homosexuality is OK is EXACTLY what everyone should be doing ... and all over that is what is being done by many people, both straight and gay. It's good your'e tired of having homosexuality shoved in your face. Hopefully you're on the path where with time, it will be as noticeable as heterosexual things that are shoved in ALL our faces EVERY DAY. There will always be more heterosexual images out there, by the way, you just don't recognize them as being offensive most of the time. Sex sells, as they say.

    It is definitely time to clean up the church from the top down. Criminal acts are criminal--no matter the demonination. Every since grammar scholl, I have known that many of the catholic clergy were not living what they teach. The question is who is responsible for placing these priests in parishes where children are in harms way? Priests are only men in a habit who celebrate mass. Whether or not they are called to the priesthood is between them and God. Celibracy is a choice not a command . If relations with any sex is
    desired--don't become a priest in the catholic church--choose another denomination.

    I have gone to a gay bar in the Chicago suburbs for years and there is a priest that hangs out there. It makes you really wonder if they practice what they preach. It totally made me glad I converted from Catholicism. Nothing suprises me anymore with these priests. It's funny how a gay scandal is "rocking" the Vatican, but molesting young children is acceptable.
