Update: Clarifications from the French presidency continued late into the afternoon yesterday as the Elysée announced that the Sarkozys were separating, then specified that separating meant divorcing. "They were heard by a judge and the judge granted their divorce," their lawyer Michele Cahen told Europe-1 radio. "It went very well. There was not the slightest difficulty."

    President Sarkozy can do better. He needs to release this narcissistic woman and I hope he finds someone worthy. I cannot believe she compared herself to Jackie Kennedy. That was the last straw for me.
