Comment: It is true if you see from your own benefits eyes. I am not agreed on your report because I live in Pakistan and fully aware of this situation that Iraq ,Iran and Afghanistan are dangerous than Pakistan. I admit that the environment is changing everyday but still there are high hopes of new revival and we are in Prayer for the all key leadership. Our Churches are organizing prayer meetings for the peace and love in Pakistan. As a Christian Leader I am hope ful that God will answer our prayers and Pakistan will be numberd in a developed and peacefull country.

Comment: Khalid Khan says: Pakistan has not launched any attacks on any other soil, we are managing our own issues internally.
I guess the brutal repression of the East Pakistani Muslims has been forgotten. The incursions at Kargil too have been forgotten. The constant meddling in Afghanistan and the Taliban - an ISI creation has also been forgotten. This nation is not being called the most dangerous based on how many people are dying but rather because of the potential for it in the future. Radicalism is growing in Pakistan and I have been told this by Pakistani nationals themselves. The long term repercussions might not be visible to you, that doesn't mean that the rest of the world too has its eyes closed.

Comment: NEWSWEEK Got it wrong this time. I have alwasy respected neweek profesionalism but I have to say they did factual errors on this reporting. More than 3 million people have died since US and Nato invaded in Iraq and Newsweek is labelling pakistan the most dangerous place. There has been hundred of thousand of people massacred in Africa and voilence in Middle east , Kashmir, for decades and Newsweek labelled Pakistan the most dangerous place. I wonder who's purpose are they serving by reporting such erronous reports?? Pakistan is nation more than 15 million people labelling them as terrorist nation is very hasty generalisation for even any reader who has got even little bit of sense left.

Comment: Part I - Everyone is talking of Pakistan as if we are 'Terrorist Nation'. The writers of this article should know more. These guys should highlight Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq. Why do they not, 'Coz it is being ravaged by Non-Muslims. Pakistan has not launched any attacks on any other soil, we are managing our own issues internally. Atleast we are trying to. How about United States, These guys can't even handle internal issues and they try to resolve issues like IRAQ, Afghanistan. The funny thing is they are trying to bring order in Iraq and Afghanistan where as they have forgotten Palestine. Why? Because of the Jewish Lobby. These guys ravaged Vietnam, you send them today and there is nothing much they would be able to do again. My word to all these guys who falsely accuse Pakistan or any other Islamic state or terrorism is "Muslims are a Fearless Nation", They only fear God Almighty and that is one thing that will always go against them, no matter what.
In very simple words 'America is a Failure' atleast this management is entirely useless and pathetic, 'coz to them there is no value of human lives, examples are Iraq,Afghanistan. The things they value is OIL and all other earthly gains.Saddam has been caught, 'coz he was supposed to be, so he could never talk of his allies earlier on 'The US of A'. Funny how Osama is still on the run, I would'nt be amazed if they would say that Osama is in Iran and make that reason to attack them.

Comment: It is quite obvious that Newsweek has not learned anything from the fiasco it started and the humiliation it endured from the false story on the abuses of the Koran at Guantanamo in May 2005. Your front page coverage labeling Pakistan as the world's most dangerous country falls perhaps in the same ignominious category of alarmist journalism (Re: "Where the Jihad Lives Now," cover story, October 29, 2007).
Pakistan is undoubtedly at a trying stage these days. But its troubles as a nation are not even comparable to those endured by many others. I would like to ask what has changed in Pakistan recently that Newsweek finds such a cover story fitting? The mere approach of national elections that have led to political posturing by President Musharraf and his rivals, the opportunistic arrival of Ms. Bhutto and the attempts of Islamist bigots and terrorists to capitalize on the political fludity cannot be grounds for Newsweek to dabble with such gross misrepresentation of an entire country.
The article's lack of understanding of Pakistan's history and political culture is striking, and its brazen sweeping conclusions deeply unsettling. It is amusing that the article portends Ms. Bhutto as a savior of Pakistan, absolving her of any responsibility in the Taliban's emergence in the mid-1990s when she herself was prime minister. It is also unfair that the article ignores the failures of India in responding to Pakistan's peace overtures that could have helped reduce the power of religious radicals in both countries, as well as the continued unmanageability of Afghanistan, which has historically been a prime source of Pakistan's ills.
I have always told my friends that a visit to Pakistan would remove many of the misperceptions that the Western media suffers from about this nation. Seeing Pakistan and meeting its people shows that Pakistan's troubles are typical of any developing nation that is located in an unfriendly neighborhood. It is not a nation filled with radical recruits, criminals or xenophobes. And even without nuclear weapons, its armed forces are amongst the most professional and weaponized in the world.
Back in May 2005, when Newsweek retracted its story about the abuse of the Koran at Guantanamo Bay, it lost its credibility as a reliable newspaper. With this cover title of October 29, Newsweek has proved again that it is always more interested in making a quick buck out of sensational and uncorroborated tabloid-style propaganda than qualified journalism.
Sincerely,
Shaukat Sindhu, Chairman

Comment: Thank you Newsweek for putting our face on the your cover - angry protesting fanatics. Now I wouldn't be surprised when the next time I travel across borders, the immigration officer looks at my passport and immediately makes up his/her mind that I must be either a terrorist, a suicide bomber or at least a sleeper cell informant. Thank you for reinforcing the stereotype.

Several fectors are there to make pakistan unstable. the first one is foreign funding to these terrorists from indian agencies like RAW... just to make pakistan unstable and unsafe. RAW is funding and providing the weapons to these organisations via pak-afghan border. which is several hundered Kms long and its hard to monitor the border fully.
As it is obvious indian agencies never miss any chance to make pakistan unstable. several times RAW's agents have been coughet and charged by pakistani couyrts. So 1st of all Pak govt. should seal pak-afghan border fully.
2nd reason is as muslims all around the world have anti-america sentiments, so same feelings are prevealing in pakistan too. when people see tha paki govt is highely pro america, so the feelings again govt are also established espacially in people of waziristan and nears (Pak-Afghan border)... so they start to show their feelings against pak govt by blasting and suicide attacks, for such activities they are paid by their organisation's leaders (who are getting funds and weapons from indian agencies already). These organisation's leaders are using the name of Islam for suicide attacks while in Islam there is no concept of such attacks or killings or such kind of Jihad.... the name of jihad is being used wrongly and to make people emotional and to prepare them for such non islamic acts.
so american involvement should be minimum in pakistan and the whole islamic world. let these people decide for their future by theirselves....
finally i ll say the terror is in few areas of pakistan near the afghan border not in the whole pakistan.... life is still going on on its way... pakistan is not the dangerous country from iraq etc.... life is so peaceful here.... rest of pakistan is really peaceful.

Comment: BB is a grate political leader and she did not save her brothers, ( some news clam her involvements ) so I don't think that she don't have knowledge for this blast and its timing and factors.
Comment: Best service BB can give to Pkiastan is to leave it alone, Pakistan can not afford to be looted by her gang again with the support of USA. She has made enough money from from last 2 goes of her disgracefull milking the poor nation. Why is she so greedy for power and money, Why cant she live in peace and let others live in peace also, why she had to be tool for murdering over 140 innocents and crippling hundreds of other poor fools.
Comment: pakistan always has been SAFE place with grace of GOD will always stay saif place, pakistan never had suicide rs before , all this is work of enemies of pakistan , who never wanted to see a strong pakistan progressing pakistan , there are fewe countreis in this world who have sick leaders who want to rule this world with there sick one sided unjust policies that's why we have bloodshed in this world and fore you newsweek editor you know very well most dangerous countries NO 1 Israel NO 2 is U.S.A AND PLEASE LEAVE PAKISTAN ALOUNE this world does not need un thought full one sided views from you people are not stupid they know where you are speaking from my advise to all pakistanis is dont vote fore those parties who have looters of pakistan as there leaders wake up you have enemies of humanity working in your country they want to turn pakistan in to Iraq stop them doing that
Comment: I dont think Pakistan is as bad as Iraq or Afganistan, its agreat place with few nut heads running loose. The politicians such as Benazir Bhutto should not have been allowed in the country in the first place. I think the election should be held and power transffered to the new govnment. As far as Benazir or Nawaz Sharif are concerned both have taken there chunk of the country now lets people run the show. Let the people in pakistan rule.
Comment: My Name is Mani and before this Bomb Blast I Supported Benazir???s Pakistan People Party (PPP), my first question is this if I know that my life is in danger I will arrange my own security and would not take any steps, which can cause life risk to others because of me. Benazir so called daughter of East she is highly qualified and that's what she did she arranged her own protection three bullet proof vehicles and she thought that its enough for 3 million supporters came to welcome her. Our Government is trying their level best to over come these Jihadis and Muslim extremists and now the new ones Political extremists. If politicians ever tried to help Pakistan they wouldn???t be living luxurious life as Nawaz Sharif, Benazir Bhutto and others by the nation???s money. They wont take the advantage of these bomb blasts for the publicity or full media coverage all around the world. Suicide bombers can reach within 10 to 20 feet???s but not possible for them to blast Benazir's vehicle How come? She went down to change her shoe while she was only standing at that truck and get tired when the time comes for bomb blast, so what about all those supporters did they bring their spare shoe with them to change? Or they were sacrificed preplanned by some of those politicians who always hire supporters to join their rally by paying them 100 Rupee for the whole day, then they got killed and its is said poor security provided by the Government every where. Pakistan is developing; we are trying to build our future for this and next generations. Our future is not like your children dear politicians please help this country to develop by using your skills of getting sympathy from all over the world towards Pakistan positively not like this. And stop blaming our Government, its your (Benazir's) fault why u let the public to come there and welcome you while She knows there is a possibility of terrorism, a single bomb blast could be stopped by your armed vehicle but for the general public how they will survive any attack? It???s a common sense. Majority of those supporters were paid to attend that rally as it always happen for other rallies. Who will pay for those precious lives we lost in that incident? Benazir? After she becomes PM of Pakistan. Please stop its enough, you all politicians have destroyed the reputation of our beautiful Pakistan just to get publicity and those respectable posts for serving the nation latter will be used to fill your bank accounts. Please show this to the entire world for the sake of Pakistan and poor innocent people dies every day because of these politicians. We don???t need democracy its in the best interest of Pakistan that we should have dictator who can eliminate this Jihad as well as Corrupted political parties like Muslim League and People party the root. May God Bless all the innocent people passed away in that bomb blast.
Comment: Benazir's return has added a new grim dimension to the Pakistani kaleidoscope. An army that is pretty much a mafia ('organized crime') and illegitimately in power, mullahs that are incompetent and hypocritcal, politicians that are corrupt and conniving with the army, a populace getting impatient with complete absence of good governance, a discredited leader (Benazir) returning for Round 3, another discredited leader (Nawaz Sharif) about to return soon, and above all these contradictory forces, Uncle Sam with a single-point agenda of finding OBL no matter what the cost to the Pakistani nation. Pakistan has become a pressure cooker with no steam valve.
