It is one of the most biased, skewed articles I have ever read on Newsweek, I wonder why such one-sided stories get published on reputable publications like Newsweek!

This another attempt of yellow journalism to put pressure on Musharaf to kill more of his own people and make the west believe that they are still in danger. Release more funds to the one in white house so he can ruin more countris.

Let me ask who is killing Iraqi people, who is killing Afganis. Is it Pakistan?

well i would say the most Dangerous country in the world is USA, and not Pakistan or iraq Or any other country in the world...

    Well!
I am not astonished by this article .... its as full of lies as western media is always. Only a metally retarded or severely biased person could have compared Pakistan with Iraq .. and western media is more than self sufficient in both types of writers.
What a heap of garbage is this article!

first of all it should be very clear that pakistan's nuclear program is in safe hands, the matter of Jihadists is due to the American west's policies against ISLAM.

Well written. You're spot on about everything. The United States' ability to create a monster like the Taliban, a "democrat" like Musharraf and an ally like the Pakistan Army makes it a far worthier candidate for the most dangerous country, though.

I agree with what ASIR said, it would had been better if the west had spent that much money to develop Afghanistan rather than destroying it. The writer of this article didn't do justice, he should have also discussed the reasons behind this problem. Things will start getting better if ISAF leaves Afghanistan.

this article clearly reflects the biased mentality of the author of this article. Coming across such allegations, despite being the fore front allies of US in war against terrorism, is something that most of us will really find absurd. Newsweek, together will all the western media seem to be unanimous in their censure of the muslim world development, and so I am not much surprised to learn the newsweek's sick attempt to demoralise Pakistan, and for that matter all the muslim world.

This article can be written on any country by an average news reporter e.g. Ireland, Spain, Turkey, France, India etc. These countries in the recent past have had incidents of severe intensity as well. The point is when then single out Pakistan? Only because the US and NATO forces are next doors and have failed miserably to gain control of Afghanistan. Bombing, shooting and killing the so called jihadis/taliban is not the answer...use of brutal force has not worked and will not work. Has the think tanks of the US and EU ever thought about the economic/commercial engagement of the taliban/jihadis. Instead of sending forces in fatigues have they ever thought of sending across SME/sustainable livelyhood experts to engage the poor population being converted to jihadis and suicide bombers. What is needed badly in boonies of NWFP and Afghanistan is basic economic transformation. Billions of dollars which are being pumped into the military machinery should be diverted to economic engagement of people. We are in 2007 but these places are still in mid 1800's...so what do we expect..of course disaster. Let's provide the people with the basic needs to engage themselves to be able to earn and live a base level respectable life only then will they be able to respect lives of others...educate, engage and the chage will occur slowly but surely..but a bullet works much faster than education..do we (1st world) have the political will and the patience?

What my Pakistani friends are clamoring in this forum is "IRO" the International Reconcilliation Ordinance" from the world. PAkistani government (military and the hard core religious zealots) wants us to forgive all that Pakistan has done to itself (breeding, feeding and sheltering terrorists, and immensely profiting from terrorist activity by posing as a victim to terrorism) and to its neighbors and to the world. There is no justification to continue with the experiment called "Pakistan" that began 60 years ago. It is time to extinguish the idea of Pakistan.

I think the writer has highlighted the real problems of Pak. Do doubt the circumstances in Pak are going to be worsen than Iraq.

Yes the writer is absolute right. The circumstances in Pakistan are going worsen than Iraq

It is a shame to see newsweek being manipulated by the west and JEWS in particular. Pakistan has done what no country in the world has done against war on terror. Probably time has come to say good by to west to fight their war at their soil and save our precisious lives by not fighting for such ungratefull people who have no real incling of situation on ground.

Pakistan has no comparison with IRAQ. The story is based on only allegations. The writers have not compared Iraq with Pakistan with figures and substantive arguments.Infact, extremism in Pakistan is the gift of US sponsored Holy War against Soviet Union in which Americans abondoned us before putting Afganistan in Order leaving behind garbage of thousands of jihadis from all over the world. Suicide bombers have taken birth in this region only after Pakistan's front line role in fight against terrorism. We Pakistanis have suffered more than any other nation at the hands of terrorists only to get unwarranted blame in the end that Pakistan is more dangerous than Iraq.
