States created on the basis of religion- we know of two of them- are doomed. They need to be quickly dismantled. I hope the US has paid off the Pakistanis and bought the nukes.

So what if Pakistan tried to bring peace in the tribal region by cutting a deal with the tribesman. Atleast we are willing to talk to people to induce them to change their thinking. Don't the Americans talk to the sunnis in Iraq and are now openly arming them to fight al qaeda over there? Atleast, we made an effort to talk, but it didn't work this time. So what do you want us to do now?

Do you suggest that we drop a tactical nuclear weapon on the folks that are hiding in those mountains of the frontier and turn those beautiful mountains to dust? No sir, we have rational leadership in Pakistan. We don't have paranoid leaders as Truman that would just bomb the *** out of people whom we are fighting. And if we use a Nuclear weapon against these thugs, then you would say stuff like, "O, that was so inhumane." and bring your human rights jibberish up. America will always remain grouchy and grumbling only to perpetuate hatred against others.

Our military is doing a remarkable job on the borders in curbing a few thousand people with extremist thinking who simply don't represent the thinking of the majority of 160 million Pakistanis.

your story on pakistan and jihad is totally wrong and bias. if u look little back , who create the so called Mujahideen now called millitants and Osama bin laden .
it was C.I.A who create and funded them against USSR. yes there are very few extremist in pakistan and now pakistan rival enemy India funding them (so called terrorist ) from afghanistan using their councel offices from pakistan border areas to unrest pakistan. this all situtation is controvercy.

To bignag, as I wrote before, Indians do not think about Pak much except at the time of Cricket or some Bomb blast. Some of the Indians think creation of Pakistan was not necessary, but as time passed we see it was ok-- would have been worse if these were staying in one house. But I think Hatred towards India, Gandhi, Hindus etc are constantly being fed through Pak political and other media. Compare any Pak and Indian sites, you will get the idea. Both India and Pak US has a love hate relatioship.

To the pakcentric guy; Pakistan had much more (per capita) resources, riches and infrastructure than India. But all you guys could do was to sit around and nurture hatred ; first towards your brothers in India and then to all non-muslims. This hatred made you welcome USA to your soil. Probably Saudi money helped to propagate more hatred. It will be the poor, madrassa educated masses falling into the trap of Talibanism easily, not educated high society people like these bloggers.

Your concept is wrong. The people of Pakistan can not allow Mrs. Bhutto. She is one the most corrupt leader in the history of the Muslim world. Her husband and she are criminals. She will even marry Osama if he grantee her that she will become the Prime Minister of Pakistan. She came to Pakistan on US Brittan???s grantee of victory and full support and that is going to hurt her even have her killed; because the people of Pakistan can not any longer stand US fake friendship due to their treatment to Muslims in America after 9/11. Pakistani people believe that America is only using Pakistan for their own agenda and will again deserted Pakistan like they did in 80s.

She went into self-imposed exile while investigations continued into millions she had allegedly stashed away into Swiss bank accounts ($1.5 billion there is nothing joyous about her returning to the country from where she looted the money. During her term she carried out a policy of rapes and extra-judicial killings at least 25,000 people in Karachi of Indian origin who had migrated to Pakistani. She talks about democracy but she has not had free elections in her party allowing cleaner leaders to emerge.

American interests suffer when we support people like this or military dictators. Former military dictator Zia allowed his country to become a hotbed of radicalization by allowing it to become a frontline State against former Soviet Union. We did nothing to convert those religious schools used to train people against Soviet Union into proper educational institutions when we left last time.

Our Policy makers have done nothing to stop recruitment by Al Qaeda by creating jobs through investment and establishment of free trade zones to allow duty free access of goods into EU or USA. We need to encourage investment in Education and create job opportunities.

This is not true, Benazir creat this problem by her self to gain sympathy from Pakistan's nation, because every body knows about her and her husband's crruption activities.

i agree with zuhas711 completely, this was nothing but a political stunt. please stop bringing islam into it. just because benazir made a handful of baseless accusations on al-qaeda and elements in goverment doesnt mean she's right. she of all the people is most likely not to be right, because she is running her election campaign. is it so hard to see that elections have more to do with this than anything else??!

Most of the people commenting here are Pakistanis, that is true but the rest who are comminting here blame people in pakistan are "ill informed" or ignorant of facts, on the contrary i think the people who are not pakistanis how could they claim to be better informed about the FACTS about Pakistan.
I am a Karachiite and i have seen things and have witnessed political scenario since 1999 myself. My view of this article published here is that it is nothing but Western propaganda to defame Pakistan.
The bhutto welcome blast in Karachi aparently was only a drama prepared by either side (that we will know later) who used "A FEW AVAILABLE" ready to suicide bombers.
These "BOMBERS" could be either
1. Islamic Extremists OR
2. ANYONE SUFFRING WITH POVERTY WHO AGREED TO CARRYOUT SUICIDE BOMBING IN RETURN TO FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND RUPEES
The No. 2 type of people are being completely overlooked that could have been hired by either political side (PPP or Elements in Government).
The propaganda in this particular article against "Nuclear Armed" Pakistan is completely baseless. Comparing Pakistan with Iraq or Afghanistan is funny. The situation in Pakistan is nothing but a temporary political turmoil period that will end after the general elections early next year.
