excuse the leanth but here is a way to save OUR COUNTRY without the religious anything but aproval-i hope and have faith they will aprove as its what is wrong with the USA today
    Vietnam
If we spent 2 Billion dollars-A DAY, 2 Billion dollars CAME BACK into the American economy-A DAY, and 100 MILLION recouped in taxes-A DAY

    Iraq
We spend 2 Billion+ dollars-A DAY, 300,000$ COMES BACK to the American economy-A DAY, and 100,000- recouped in taxes-A DAY

Vietnam and Iraq are the same? Bring back the great American war machine, to American soil, use the gas tax, as it was told to us, why, its there, ie: the roads
    Hey
WE JUST EMPLOYED 12 MILLION, REBUILDING EVERYTHING, WITH ALT ENERGY, MAKING FAR MORE INCOME THAN MIN WAGE!

DEMOCRATIC CORE-RUN THE COUNTRY, NOT RULE THE WORLD!

TO BAD IN IRAQ WE OUTSOURCE EVERYTHING, INCLUDING INTELLIGENCE, FOR ANOTHER BILLION-THIS, IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VIETNAM AND IRAQ, MR PRESIDENT, HIDING UNDER THE TABLE

MY MATH IS OFF! WE WOULD EMPLOY MORE LIKE 35 MILLION! REBUILDING FACTORIES, STAFFING THEM, BUILDING WIND FARMS, STAFFING THEM, REBUILDING ALL ROADS IN OUR COUNTRY, STAFFING THAT, AND RECOUPING 100 MILLION A DAY IN TAXES, EQUATES, COUNTING THE 2 BILLION SPENT INSIDE OUR BORDERS, A DAY! YA 35 MILLION EMPLOYED AT BETTER THAN MIN WAGE IS FAR CLOSER THAN JUST 12 MILLION EMPLOYED-SORRY FOLKS MY MATH WAS OFF

Talk about blind spots. This man considers himself educated and knowledgeable about religion and does not consider Mormonism a Christian faith? Look at the name of the Church, THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. Any one who lacks the intelligence to admit that the LDS Church is a Christian faith has no credibility in my book.

We as Americans have fell and are falling away from what this Great country had become. There was a time when we were united but now we are very divided. Only for a short moment at 9/11 where we the American's united again as one people in one nation. We have again falling away to selfishness instead of unity. We the people have let this Great country fall into the shape it's in. The mostly Christian values that once helped form this Great country are being thrown away as new laws of selfishness and greed take unity's place. This at one time was a country formed with the help of our creator so we could serve him freely without the help from England. But now we serve ourselves. Not one person, or many in the next elected goverment is going to straighten America out. We once had one God we served. We served him in our own ways. Now we serve ourselves...

    jimreyesiii: Kettle black.

From your posts, I can tell you are completely intolerant. What do you think about the Jews? Do you think they are all going to hell because they dont accept Jesus?

    • Posted By: jmreyesiii @ 10/23/2007 5:24:21 PM

Why is it that those who preach tolerance (in today's definition that means HAVING to believe everyone is right) the most intolerant? If you disagree you're branded a bigot or some other name.

Only God can make that determination, but as Christians we hold our doctrines to be true and inspired by our Lord...and our holy scriptures are clear that there is no salvation o/s the Church...The difference is that we s/b winning over hearts with the peace, love and wisdom that comes from Jesus. That is why so many missionaries were martyred in propagating the faith over the centuries

Why can't people wake up out of thier ignorant slumber and realize that Romney, Giuliani, or Huckfinn, are the answer, and start giving RON PAUL some respect. He is twice the canidate that any of these other bafoons claim to be. If the media would stop trying to blot him out of existence, and talk about what he stands for he would be the man people are talking about supporting. Anybody who reads about what Ron Paul stands for would agree that the chtistian moral vote belongs to him.

---- RON PAUL , is the man HELLO people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ----

  • Posted By: FedUpWithBush @ 10/23/2007 5:23:27 PM

It makes me laugh that this guy and other christians have a problem with Romney because he isn't christian enough. An extra book at the end of the St James version = Blasphemous Book. Christians are so bigoted that can't even agree amongst themselves.

  • Posted By: Gaithersburger @ 10/23/2007 4:18:48 PM

Frankly, in addition to a new party I wish the Christian conservatives would find a new country. The US would be a much better place without these hatemongers.

    • Posted By: Amigorick @ 10/23/2007 4:41:58 PM

I am a Christian and I do not consider myself a hatemonger. There are those with whose lifestyles, I disagree, but in the end, they will answer to God for the way they have lived just like I will. It is not my position or right to judge them. That is what my Bible tells me. I can only try and live my life in a way that is pleasing to God and try to be Christlike. My question is... why am I wrong for having my beliefs and those who disagree with me are considered right? Why can it not just be that I believe in one way and you believe in another....with the understanding that neither of us will try and force our beliefs down the others throats. God Bless.

      • Posted By: atruemoderate @ 10/23/2007 5:23:26 PM

If only there were more Christians who believed like you do. Thank you very much. I guess we'll all find out what the truth is when we die . . . or maybe not . . . (chuckle).

Seriously, I don't agree with your religious view but do appreciate your outlook towards others. Welcome to the moderate camp, we value eveyone here.

I think it would be great if the Christian Right were to begin a third party. Maybe then we would see just how small a minority they really are.

Interesting discussion. Christian political leaders. The religious right. Smells a bit too much like an Islamic state. Ironically, on a recently published global peace index, our dear country and Iran were listed neck to neck...number 94 and 95 in world. Rather shameful. And who is responsible for this sad state of affair? Mr Bush, an evangelical Christian!!!!

    • Posted By: jmreyesiii @ 10/23/2007 5:21:54 PM

I think you need to do more research. Christianity and an Islamic State are not the same. As I've mentioned in another post, Christians will allow you to believe what you want- - even if it means insulting Jesus. You can't insult Muhammed (sp?) in an Islamic state. Regarding global peace, who decides that? I mean if the US is viewed so wickedly explain why many people are trying to get into this country. No governement is perfect, but the U.S. is still one of the best. You have opportunity and the freedom to believe or disbelieve.

  • Posted By: Hazledean @ 10/23/2007 5:04:42 PM

The worst thing to hit America in the late 20th century was the unholy alliance of evangelical Christians and ultraconservative politics. Somebody needs to tell these misguided folks that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was as non-political as they come. We Christians are supposed to follow his example. As Popeye used to say in the cartoons: "What a revoltin' development this is!"

    • Posted By: Lolimahro @ 10/23/2007 5:21:45 PM

While I appreciate your point of view, I cannot let the untruthful assertion that Jesus Christ was not "as non-political as they come" go unchallenged. In fact, he routinely violated the popular politics of his day. He led by example in the way that he showed fair treatment of women, the sick, crippled, and poor. In a society that was run by a merger of religiosity and political power struggles, he exemplified the political leader who leads by example with compassion and grace. Indeed, he even stood up to the religio-political leaders in public when challenged in verbal debates about everything from divorce to capital punishment. To say that he was non-political is simply not correct. I do agree that Christians have a lot to learn from his example about how to be involved in politics in a way that copies the pattern of Christ's own sociopolitical behavior.

It's about time.......this is the best thing that could happen to America! The misguided Religous Zealots will finally seperate into their own group of nonsense. Therefore pulling enough power away from the Conservatives and getting them out of power. I am not a democrat and do not like their candidates but we need a change in the US and it is not in the direction of more war and condemnation of individuals from those who think Jesus was a fiscal and social conservative who lookded down on people that are different than themselves!

    AVSFreak24,
Sorry my comments offended you, but I disagree with just about everything you said. I like a lot of the Republican ideas, but George W. Bush is the most incompetent president we've ever had, in my opinion. I cannot vote for a party who would nominate such an amoral moron, and I think you are fool for defending him. Given the Republican party's recent history, I cannot imagine they have ANY answers for me or my family, they don't understand the problems, and none of the announced candidates make me confident that they have the answer. No Hilary cannot possibly clean up the mess your idols Bush and Cheney have created, nor the staggering deficits they will leave to my children, but we must change direction that Bush has started us on, and she sounds more rational to me than the war-mongering idiots on the Republican side. Oh, and I worked for Reagan during the 1980 election, so I doubt you'd call me a wild-eyed liberal. More like a 50-something father with bills to pay. Deal with it, pinhead.

You people need to get real. The Republican party has excellent candidates, no matter who in the top tier is selected. Your third party idea is ridiculous. How wacko.

I find it funny how all these self-proclaimed 'liberals', 'moderates', and so-called 'intellectuals' come on here and just bash everything going on and somehow blame Christians and Christianity. There are a lot of people who talk and say they are this or they are that, but never back it up. You think that Democrats and Liberals are somehow better than everyone else and perfect? You can talk all the trash you want about the mistakes Bush has made, but he has stuck behind everything he has said and done, right or wrong. I know he isn't the best Pres., but it could be worse. We are all hypocrites to some degree. I have seen more flip-flopping from the Left over, well, everything than any other party, or group of people ever. Yes, there are extreme 'Christians' out there that do more harm than good, but there is that in every class or group of people you could classify. If you seem to think that Mr. Clinton(Hillary) will somehow fix what is wrong with this country, you are dead wrong. The extreme left is nothing more than a socialist party that wishes to level everything for everyone except themselves. Before you know it, medicine would be socialized, we would join the EU and not even be our own, sovereign country. Spew all the hate you want, but the actions of the Liberal Democrats speak far louder, negatively, than any of the crazy rantings of some of the Extreme Christian Right. Conservatives are not perfect. The GOP isn't perfect. However, there is far more integrity in the right spectrum of this country than on the left, period. I do not care what label is on a candidate, but if voting for a third party puts Mr. Clinton into office, there is no way I would vote for that third party. If there is going to be a woman President, let it be someone else who actually has experience leading. Who cares if Mitt Romney is Mormon, if he is what would be best for the country. Not saying he is, I do not know who would be best, but I am positive who would be worst.

    • Posted By: mbleedom @ 10/23/2007 5:14:46 PM

How could anyone be worse than the traitorous murderer who purports to be our President?

  • Posted By: indymv @ 10/23/2007 5:14:21 PM

This would be the best thing that could happen to America.......the political religous zealots who think Jesus was a right wing conservative and the right wing conservatives will both be voted out of power.....Thank GOD!

I very much agree that christians get the heat, but the question is do yoru ask for it? In religous history which base don whos version you read puts every religeon in some light, first was Catholism, then Judaism, then Hinduism, then Christianity. I fther is only oen God maybe the principle should nto be which way people chose to worship him. Let us look back to the old days , where In america christians charged for a pew. The only differnece I see about Christianity to toher religeons, is yoru need to be involved in politics inthe first place, that need derives form money and funding and greed is a sin. I do not see other religeons pointing out their purpose, I do nto feel that anyoen is being pushed down, you are the only oen inthe game, the other religeons stick to religeon, they do not go around making politics a use for god. The article itself and unlike other opinions I do nto find Ron Paul Well read, he made points but left other both sides, three sides to every story, I have heard nothign about ignoring you, that is imossible anda obtrusive and pushy your religeon has become, Again no other religeons are making comments. I find his relations of religeon and race to be an inaccuarte point maker, either compare your self to another religeon or do not,( agian no other religeons are speaking up) I also find it har dto beleive what you say throughthe hipocracy, you ar epro life but only care for children in foreign countries, and complain about caring for yoru own, (unamerican), I also find most values to be based on the inability to agree to disagree, in no life time will everyone be Christian, catholic, Judist, Muslim, hindu, buddist or any oen thing, so stop and think about in economics Equilibrium, you spoke up and do not liek the response, well if you speak then expect response, there are 300 million people in the United states and i am sure even though society reads at a third grade levle, they might agree that the use of religoen is not money and politics, and that causes and voices should be their own choice, not the churches. Strong nation with strong people and to be strong one must embrace change, differneces and opposing opiion and yes even in certian times take the back seat. I do not see a lack of arrogance on your part, as if you are as quiet as the rest you will dissappear, what may dissapear is all the money you swindle of unsuspecting americans, ( agian not very god like), the power to bleiv eis what people seek, an excuse for mistakes and answers to unknow n quesitons, In todays world with technology and education we can answer alot, what i cannot explain is why people woudl listnen to you in the first place.

And then we have these desparate sounding bumber stickers: "God bless America". Do we have to yell this out to the guy behind us on the road? Are we worried God has forgotten us? Oh no. She hasn't. She is rather pissed right now. Sins of a nation is not easily forgotten. We are pickering over the unborn while pissing away life already born elsewhere in the world. How do you think God can forget that?
