It is of interest that of the over 24 million veterans in the US, there is much discontent with both GOP and DEM histories of neglect of the fighting men and women and especially after they have served, our government turns its back on them again and again. It the veteran population, it is estimated 35-40 % of those millions of veterans would break ranks with the GOP and DEMs to be part of a new constitution based conservative to centerist movement and party. If unleashed to lead a in a new direction, veterans could be a powerful part of any new 3rd party.

I see a lot of ego in the Religious Right as well. They are stupid if they believe that a third party will further their cause of getting a morally acceptable candidate into office. They will be handing the election to Hillary on a platter. Is their own self-rightousness worth the complete loss of those things they hold dear?

This is just what the Democrats want. A third party taking the Christian vote away from the Republican Candidate. How do you think Bill Clinton was elected?? Wake up Ross P Put him into office. I remember the igornant people who said I won't vote for either one and voted for Ross. Think people...A third party elects Mrs H. Clinton for sure. Some of the "Christian" leaders with their inflated egos do me no joy. I am speaking as a follower of Jesus.

Third party or not. It's a dilemma isn't it? The short-term fair of losing votes for the "lesser of two evils". But isn't the fair of a third party, a fourth and fifth, exactly what the political duopoly wants us to fair? Do we, for the sake of the long term, want them to continue controling our destiny, leaving us without genuine choices?

    • Posted By: gospursgo123456 @ 10/23/2007 4:08:10 PM

No offense, but even if there WASN'T a third party candidate, Hillary Clinton would manhandle her republican counterpart. The MAJORITY of the American public is fed up with republican tyranny, that is why the democrats took control of Congress last year.

Great! Start your own party, then the republicans can stop kissing their b*** and deal with real issues instead of outdated ones like abortion.

I am a conservative Christian Republican who is ashamed of saying so as that seems to lump me together with Richard Land, whoever he is. My vote will go to the best candidate for representing my views. I am sick to death of these self righteous "leaders" who benefit from preaching this.

      agree

The problem with the christian right is that they want everybody to be just like them and they want a government that supports solely their ideals. But hat isn't what the founding fathers wanted. Theirs was a country without the Church having a say in politics. These people need to live in a country where state religions dictate people's lives. After a couple of years they'll be happy to return to the US and its lack of religious government.

To all who think Christianity is a foolish belief because science supposedly can't prove it, remember Christianity is still a faith. If you're as intelligent as you claim to be do I really need to define "faith" for you? Furthermore if you want proof, Jesus' tomb was empty. Try explaining to me how men who were too cowardly to save Jesus from the Jewish soldiers who arrested Him could suddenly be brave enough to steal his body from a tomb, with a huge stone as its door, guarded by Roman soldiers - - only three days later. Would they really risk their life to propagate a lie?

    • Posted By: Frost845 @ 10/23/2007 4:10:24 PM

People have risked their lives for stupider reasons. One guy got a Darwin award for killing himself trying to steal an empty safe!

I think religion needs to say out of Politics completely, what part of the Consititution regarding this do people not understand. This country was not founded as a Christian nation, in fact it expressely prohibits it...Churches should be taxed if they get involved in backing political candidates.

Evangelicals' sanctity-of-life belief ends after birth. It's OK for the state to murder a death row inmate, and it's OK to kill innocent civilians in a "noble war."

I think they should name it the Judgmental Party or the Everone should live ,believe, and act like us party.

I hope they do it because it will really push them out of politics.
And on a slightly different note, mainstreem Christians are the most materialist people on the planet.I guess that is why God put them here...to make a buck and Judge.......I am sure Jesus is very proud of you and would not know what to do without all of you telling us what we are doing wrong.
So go for it.Make a new party...hell I will even donate to it...lol

Just say Gnostic...do not confuse it with the Christian Faith....Just being honest...

Creating a Third Party will elect a Democrat to office. Plain and simple. Do we forget so soon..Mr. Ross P. He singlehanded elected Bill Clinton to office. Took votes away more from Bush. (elder)....No third party is needed. Sometimes you have to swallow hard and take what is best. Try to improve that. Often to me, at least, I see too many ego's at work in the Christian "camp". If you want Mrs. Clinton in the office of the President...go for the third party. :)

Ron Paul is the answer for all patriotic Americans who are concerned about citizen rights according to our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Ron Paul is pro-life, is for a strong national defense, legal taxation (not illegal taxation), financial stability and responsibilty, and individual personal freedom/liberties. He should be the candidate of choice for all religious conservatives.

    • Posted By: sweetdave @ 10/23/2007 4:05:05 PM

Absolutely...and he served his country admirably in uniform...unlike our current President

  • Posted By: Pat4Him @ 10/23/2007 2:15:42 PM

Yes, people physically wrote the Bible, but they used words given to them by God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

To those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as savior. Do not waste your time in foolish arguments with those who are darkened in their understanding. Remember God is sovereign over all of creation and the wisdom of man is foolishness in the eyes of God. The Plans of the Lord stand firm forever. The purposes of his heart through all generations. Also, In his heart a man plans his course, But the Lord determines his steps. At the end of thier lives when thier spirits depart; they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. So what does this all mean? It does not matter in the end what man thinks. Gods plan will prevail whether there is a third party or not. trust in the Lord and Pray for those who are in darkness.

I need to let you and other know who maybe in question. I am a true Bible believing Christian and I am an African American and a conservative. I would never vote for any anti-Bible anit-family, pro-choice canidate. I am 46 years old and I saw up close growning up int eh inner city what the welfare state and the great society did to our people morally and spiritually and socially.

    • Posted By: Frost845 @ 10/23/2007 4:04:26 PM

Why do the Christians mispell everything? Are they stupid? Illiterate?

      Example: Anit-family? Growning up?

Yes for a third party, a fourth and a fifth. We need breadth and depth in politics. A two-party system is shallow, deceiving, non-democratic, and manipulative. We need people in politics from the right and from the left.

  • Posted By: Fcandlish @ 10/23/2007 4:00:26 PM

We already have learned the problems of a third party after the Ross Peroe incident. It was true he was the ony candiate at that time with a quanitive plan to carry out his adgenda, but it gave the race to Clinton. As for religon. Clintons claimed to be Baptist and look what took place in the White House. Oral sex with interns was not a Christian value, nor is promoteing an homosexual adgenda or killing unborn childrens.
As an evangelical, Romney has had my vote for long time. At least we know what he stands for. In all respect to Mayer Giulani, he has the appearance of a "Republican" ready to shift to democrat ideas atter he is in office.
