    lets talk about something important.

Yesterday JK Rowling revealed to a little girl that Dumbledore was gay and there has been a huge debate on whether this was wrong and what kind of precedent it sets. Hmmm...

Thank God, this is important information - but not enough detail. Was Dumbledore dealing, or biting the pillow? Did he smoke the pipe or lay it? C'mon, we need to know these things about our heroes of children's fiction. I'll bet there was some beastiality going on with all those animagi (animaguses?) running around, don't tell me Peter Petigrew didn't get bent over a cheese wheel more than once. And how about the prison sex? Don't you think Sirius Black did it doggy style for cigarettes or candy bars?

Lets discuss what kind of sex toys Dumbledore had in his office. Snape may have had a thing for Lily Potter but that was before Dumbledore unleashed the the worst of the Unforgivable Curses. ANAL TORTURIO!

I'm glad to hear the "religious-right" take full responsibility for George W. Bush. But sadly, they still can't see what their "leaders" are capable of creating.

Most understand that a third party introduction would guarantee a Democrat victory. Maybe that's the way to go. Either Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney need to be stand alone candidates. Both have the moral background needed, plus they would focus on fixing our system, not advocating a bunch of entitlement programs. As for all the great sums of money spent on the campaigns: why not limit the campaign spending radically, but allow fund raising so that money could be put into training, feeding, health care, and shelter programs for those in need here in the USA?

The ultimate truth of the matter is simply this: After you draw your last breath, you will stand before a loving but holy and just God. The first thing on his mind will not be 'Who did you vote for". It will be "Did or didn't you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and live your life according to his teachings?".

So, in keeping with the theme of many of these posts, I say to those of you with such a stern tone of voice toward Christians, you do truly need to repent (change your way of thinking). When you stand before God, you will know immediately the life you should have lived but it will be eternally to late at that point.

God loves you and wants you to come to him ??? on HIS terms. You can find out what his terms are by reading the New Testament. I would recommend buying the ???New International Version??? or a similarly easy to read version of the New Testament. After reading it, you will have a clear knowledge of how, why and when to come place your hope in Jesus Christ.

    He loves you!

websters_mike: I would suggest you pick up a copy of Sam Harris - Letter to a Christian Nation. After reading it, you will have clear knowledge of how and why ALL OF YOUR BELIEFS ARE FALSE.

The idea that the bible is a perfect guide to salvation and morality is astounding given the contents of the book.

Please...honestly...read the book or by the audiobook. I've read the new testament and it doesn't hold water (or wine) to the sense that this book makes.

Whats wrong with this? "After you draw your last breath, you will stand..." Have you ever seen anybody stand after they died? I would be impressed just to see a dead christian bend his knee

First of all as an Evangelical Christian, I don't believe you are un-American if you disagree with me. That is what the media and perhaps some other groups would have you believe. As a Christian I do believe in Free Will since that is how God made mankind. However I also do believe in right and wrong with God, our Creator as the One who ultimately decides what is right. Let's face it folks, if right is whatever you want it to be you have Anarchy. If you think it's right to steal you go ahead and tell that to the arresting Police Officer and resist arrest; you'll learn quickly that there has to be right and wrong. Second, I also believe in a separation of church and state, even though the Constitution doesn't use that exact phrase, but not in the way it is being carried out today. Today, it seems the government and others are forcing their beliefs on the Christian population. They tell us Christians, "You have no right to tell us what we should think." Then they follow that up with, "If you think Homosexual marriages are wrong then you're a homophobe and a bigot." I have no fear of homosexuality. I'll speak with one. I've known some. I disagree with that lifestyle, however. What is up with that?!

So, in your logic, if another religion such as islam or hinduism taught thier believers to do something that contradicted your chrisitan teachings, then those other two religions would be wrong. Which supreme being is right, is it allah, god, or buddah? Most of these religious beliefs have some similarities, but differ on many others. So, in a way, these other believers are doing something that isn't adhering to christian principles...

      • Posted By: jplv02 @ 10/23/2007 3:32:49 PM

everybody should go buddhist. the world would be so peaceful. no god to please. no gods to defend. no christians... seems like heaven to me. (get it...heaven)

We are not meant to "focus on the family" or "focus on politics". Rather, we are, as believers, meant to Focus on Christ! There needs to be a great deal of de-construction in the American Christian community, as by being myopic (near sighted) and focusing on issues instead of what the church is truly called to, we are doing more harm than good for the cause of Christ.

Comment: Let's form the American Freedom Party for individuals of a conservative or moderate "bent" which allows for MORE CHOICES in our political system.

When this coutry was formed, the Founders intended the government to gain its power from The People, the consent of the governed.

Many individuals are disatisfied with the current complicated tax code and the instrusiveness of the IRS. I support the idea of a FLAX TAX of 15% for every income level except those at poverty or below poverty. We need a gradual income tax from poverty 0% to 15% for those in the lower income brackets.

I also favor the consideration of a 1% national sales tax to cover consumption of goods by illegals and drug dealers who don't file tax returns or don't declare their full incomes. This might help to pay for Catastrophic Health Insurance for Americans who CHOOSE to have a government policy. Catastrophic Health Insurance should be OPTIONAL and not mandatory for citizens.

Let's GET GOING and form the American Freedom Party (freedom from the Republicans and the Democrats).

concerned citizen for CHOICE (3 party system)
    Patriotic American

Just a note for nannoo2003 and leodelaney: Respectfully, the primary reason this country has the first ten amendments to the constitution (the Bill of Rights) was through the influence of persecuted Baptists. The principles of the Anabaptists and Baptists brought us out of the Dark Ages. We are friends of truth, freedom, and real toleration. Governor Huckabee's tenure in Arkansas is proof of this in the real world today.

    • Posted By: leodelaney @ 10/23/2007 3:29:53 PM

Wow! I've seen some historical distortion in my day but this may be one of the best. And it so degrades the people who founded our nation and wrote our Constitution and the Bill of rights too. Imagine that; a fantasy interpertation that also degrades real historical figures, their ideas ,their thoughts, their successes, their beliefs and gives all credit to a somewhat minor religious group. I'm sure that were George Mason, Patrick Henry and the other authors of the "Virginia Bill of Rights," from which our Bill of Rights was largely drawn, as well as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and even Thomas Paine in England would be amazed if they weee alive today to find that their mighty thoughts were attributable merely to the need to satisfy the needs of a small religious group. But then such Historical mismanagement of facts has always been the perogative of religion.

Most know that by introducing a third pary into the race will guarantee the Democrats a victory. On another note, why spend these great sums of money on campaigning? Think of how much food or shelter, medical care, and training that would provide to those in need here in this country.

Mike Huckabee ??? the true Christian, who while courting the NRA said that there is Duck Hunting in Heaven and that the Angels guided his bullet while on a hunt??? This is your True Christian??? Are you kidding me?

Unless i'm wrong the Bible never said anything about a Raptuer... this was something that the Christian Religious Scolors came up with as a way to save themselves from the impending war against evil. The fact is that if this does occur we will all live through it. What I would like is that we don't speed the process along anymore them we already have!

    • Posted By: preacher of the gospel @ 10/23/2007 3:28:21 PM

Please read I Thess. 4:15-17. the word rapture is referring to what the apostle Paul described as the catching away. He wrote that we shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Hope this helps your understanding. Have a nice day.

    • Posted By: tanana12000 @ 10/23/2007 1:53:06 PM

1 Cor: 51-52 - Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. This verse it what is referred to as the rapture.

      • Posted By: preacher of the gospel @ 10/23/2007 3:20:28 PM

I Thessalonians 4:15-17 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [ precede, or go before] them which are asleep [dead]. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be -caught up to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The rapture is refering to what the Bible speaks of the catching away of the saints or believers of Christ, who have obeyed the gospel. Please read Acts 2:38, this is the gospel that will prepare you for the catching away. According to the Bible, we are extremely close to this taking place. Hope this helps your understanding.

Holy Moses, don???t these fundamentalists see what they???ve become? Thanks to George Bush, a monster has been created. They have become so discriminatory that they can???t even ???feel comfortable??? with another Christian, Mitt Romney! They try to force their own beliefs on others by constantly ???threatening??? everyone, which sounds like Satan???s plan to me. This is a turn off and does not serve to convert anyone (except other bigots?).

They should focus on the spirituality of their own flocks rather than trying to run the government. In other words, they should read the scriptures. Many followers wanted Jesus to get involved in government, but time and again he refused.

???give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God, what is God's???

???all who draw the sword will die by the sword.???

"you know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you."

To quote from "The Bible on the Role of Government "
    :
???The Israelites and the disciples had expected the Messiah to be a political leader, but Christ had an entirely different agenda.19 Somehow, today's Christians fall into an eerily similar position, at least implicitly believing that Christ's words and actions do not at all discourage the use of government. Their chief argument is that this tool was unavailable to him in the contemporary Roman political structure. However, the ???cultural??? argument is at worst, disingenuous or dangerous-- or at best, unsatisfying. First, Christ was offered political power and refused it. Second, Christ could have taken actions to ensure a substantial degree of economic and political power, but didn't. Third, if the use of government was supposed to be an important tool in the Christian arsenal, a God who is sovereign over history could have sent Christ at a different, more democratic, time. And finally, any ???cultural??? argument is potentially dangerous since it opens the door for its use on a wider variety of issues.??? ??? http://homepages.ius.edu/DSCHANSB/books/chapter2_TNRNL.pdf

These modern Zealots who think they are so persecuted should skip creating their own party and should create their own country. In their happy little Theocracy, they could go on tormenting only one another. (And hopefully far enough away that we can???t hear the delusional whining.)

Friends, I don't think some of you have met real Christians. Real Christians, though not perfect, are at least somewhat like Jesus Christ (or they are just not Christians, no matter what they say). Unless I am deceived, I think Mike Huckabee is one of the real ones, and his words and actions are not those of an intolerant bigot. Examine his governorship. It is public record. He does hold to the ethic and morality that this country has historically held, a value for all life, for family, and for freedom. If you oppose these values, then you may want to thoughtfully reconsider your position.

Hillary Clinton will get elected by the default of the Repubs. They are as bad as the Country as a whole. They will not come together unless they get their own way. Singls Issue voters are the destruction of Freedom in the USA. When Hillary is elected the American people will deserve the outcome they will get. Higher Taxes, Economic Recession, Terroist Attacks and a whole host of other problems all because the people want their own way. It is going to be ugly. And oh yes! I forgot to mention Carbon Taxes to clean the Air. We are all about to see our standard of living decline dramatically. Is this great or what ?

Did we meet in a Minneapolis Airport Restroom? Seems like the same BS that comes from Republicans that can't handle a woman in office. I welcome Hillary and Bill back to the White House

The flat tax rate would eliminate alot of that because when they went to spend the non-taxable money they would be paying taxs in the everyday products people buy today. Also that includes people who work under the table, Illegals, and drug dealers.
