Last week Tiger was busy thinking about children--though not his own. He hosted the elite-field Target World Challenge, which benefits two of his charity foundation's youth pro-grams: Start Something and the Tiger Woods Learning Center. But, as always, his eye was on his own future as well. "Ever since I was a very little boy, my goal was to set out on Jan. 1 to be a better player by Dec. 31," says Woods, noting that he has met his goal every single year. When asked what he will look to improve starting this New Year's, he replies, "Everything. I'm working on a lot of different things--making progress in mechanics, getting my body in better shape--to become better next year." If Tiger succeeds, and he certainly expects to, it's unlikely that anybody will confuse his 2004 season with a slump.
