A New Intelligence Failure?

Unfortunately we do not see the underlying features, Syria is known for harboring Hezbolla, Insurgents, and other workers in an effort to hide the underground tunnels they work on for storing ammunitions some of which do make it to Palestine and most comes from Iran and their partners whom hope to topple Israel and control the Middle East fully. Many of the underground facilities are already connected by tunnels the width of a highway and height of a two story building. When the Iraq war began those workers almost certain to be killed if maintainig residence in Iraq moved into Syria and have been working for the Syrian military/government ever since, just a few have returned to Iraq bringing weapons and ammunitions but not for Iraqi's. The politics of the movement caused religious backers to leave and return and begin their control since there was no Saddam regime to stop them and they have succeeded in almost conquering control of Baghdad.

iran and syria both accused of b.s.!! I still say its cheaper for the world to send engineers to build and install solar and wind removing the waste we call nuclear weapons!!! wich only we have the right to posses. There's a distant paranoia about nuclear reactors and the safety of people near them. This is a viable source of MUCH needed power to support a nation. The fact that weapons-grade plutonium may be produced is indeed an issue in such a volatile part of world. Maybe they could explore hydropower from that same Euphrates site? Wind-power? Solar power? I often question the motives of those in power...

kurdboy, the arabs are the most destriuctive groups on the planet and live each day to keep the Palestinians in limbo to further their cause...Israels destruction. The arabs have the power to help end the conflict over the disputed territories but refuse to do so. Shame on them.

I believe the raid on Syria was an attempt to intimidate Iran. The threat of bombing Iranian Nuclear Facilities was already there and Israel's attack on the Syrian installation was a last warning to Tehran and it's crazy leadership. If Iran is developing nuclear power for positive purposes then it must show a williingness to be transparent in it's efforts. The warning shot has been fired, like it or not.

now why would we ever even think of giving weapons to Israel? Let's see...they invade Lebanon,they bomb Syria, and they seem to have an insatiable appetite for power. Someone needs to pimp-slap Israel. Thats all i have to say. AND YES IM SERIOUS

How about this theory? As Syria's president tells the public, it was just an old military buliding. And President Bush gave months of warning to Saddam. He could have sent everything packing to Syria. Now that Saddam is gone, Syria wants to make use of the resources, asks North Korea for help and starts building the reactor. As a first step builds the pumping stations. Israel keeps a close tab on everything within Syria... finds out about this stuff and bombs them out.
I would suggest that VP Cheney should check this out. It could be true. After all, the whole world was convinced that Saddam had WMD.
If this is true, to whom did Saddam gift his bio weapons????

Let these tribes in the Middle East fight each other, this is none of our business. Besides am I the only one who realizes that ANY use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East will condemn them all to radiation sickness. MAD 21st century style.
As long as Israel has nuclear weapons and our president talks about Axis of Evil more countries will be tying to get their hands on nuclear technology.
And can someone explain to me why any criticism of Israel is anti semitic? Or why should palestinian Arabs be displace from their land for a crime committed by Germany in Europe?

It really a non issue now the complex is gone and it t ime to move one without resorting to anti-smetic name calling. I believe the CIA missed a very important piece of intelligent which has existed in the middle east for what appears to have been a number of years. The question should be are we save in our own country when our own intelligent service is lacking in it's ability to identify threats in the world which may effect our own safety.
