Is Age Just a Number?

WHO CARES???

There are other things to concern ourselves with...nooses hanging from trees in the 21st century, California fires (where alot of people I love live), inflation, high gas prices, a corrupt government and demented society, global warming and a host of other issues...Tom is doing what American's do...make money...MySpace is a great networking tool...who gives a *** how old he is...Thanks...a MySpace user over 30!

I mean does it really matter if he was 27 or 32 when he started the site. Who really cares! He knew how to market his product to the youth of America and the world and he did. He didn't harm anyone by doing it. He didn't do it to try and meet some underage person. Leave it alone, I mean really people! Lets talk about something that matters to us like the support for our troops abroad and trying to get them home!

Um...if he's going to turn 37 next week, not 33, doesn't that mean that he's FOUR years older than he said he was?!! 37-33=4. I guess you don't need to go to second grade to write for Newsweek...

33, 37 - Big deal! Marketing tactic or not, it has no effect on whether or not people will still use MySpace. Everyone at some point has lied about their age. We've got better things to be worrying about rather than why one of the MySpace's founders claims he is 33 on his profile. Yeah and that girl in the article that said it was kinda messed up he lied to "her". Are you kidding me? It's not like it was personal and they were close friends for years and she found out he was actually 4 or 5 years older. Please focus on real news!!

Who cares??? Anyone who does needs to get a life!! I guess there will always be complainers around to try to spoil it for everyone else. In my book Tom and the other creator are heros. I just moved 2000 miles from all my friends and family and I get to chat with them everyday for free. People.......get a life! It's free!!! Who cares about Tom's age?? Jeeezzzz.

Newsweek needs to change their name to ddduuuuhhhh??? This isn't news!! Confession, I don't lie about being 35, but I used to lie about being ONLY 16!! The "young" lie about being older and the "old" lie about being younger---WOW!! Big news!

I can't believe that Newsweek would really induldge such a trivial issue. I guess it must have been a pretty uneventful week in news. Give me a break, this country is at war, in the middle of a political race, and there is wide spread tragedy on the west coast, but let's debate the age of the MySpace co-founder and what it really means to our culture. Who gives a rip? What difference does it make? Andrew Haynes and anyone else who feels affronted or insulted really needs to get a life and get over it.

Seriously, who cares about Tom's age! What I wonder is, why is there an entire article dedicated to saying he lied? Marketing tactic or not, 33, 37 - Big deal! Do yuo really think MySpace's user are going to be so distraught about this info.? Um, no.

First of all who cares what Tom's real age is this guy put up this site and it has taken some really bad people out of the mainstream (those child sex abusers) they monitor the site and keep those bad people away from our children... So isn't it more important then Toms age come on I go on and have met some really great people. Thanks Tom we love ya and don't care about your age....keep up the good work....

I don't feel it should matter on a person's age this guy put up a site that others can enjoy and has taken some of the child sex abusers off the mainstream which is more important then a person's age shouldn't we not focus on the good things this site has done and not the fact that he didn't want all to know his real age which isn't important we all love Tom for him not his age.........Thanks Tom for this site I have met alot of great people on it and keep getting those bad eggs off there so we can keep enjoying...........Cheryl in Taxachuestts

As was stated by so many others, THIS IS NON-NEWS!!! Are you so wrapped up in yourselves that something as trivial as fudging on your age seems to be important. Did you suddenly come to the conclusion that, "Hey, everybody will be really interested in this!". Are you nuts??? With all that's happening in our world today, this is the best you can come up with??? You need to find another profession.

First of all, who really cares about Tom's age? I never paid attention to his age, infact, I had no idea until I read this article. I assumed he was in his 30s though. Iuse myspace to keep in touch with friends and family tthat don't live near me, Tom could be 80 and I would still be thankful that I can use Myspace as a communication tool. And one more thing, I read all of the comments, and I was wondering where you all got that the writer (Jessica) said Tom was 38?? Does it really matter how old he is in the whole scheme of things???No ...... He created a place that is free for you to connect to old friends and meet new ones....other sites, that will remain nameless, "classmates", want to charge you to talk to people...So really...His age doesnt matter

JIMINY CRICKETS! WHO REALLY CARES? He hasnt hurt NOBODY....I would like to meet someone who does not lie about their age for any reason or purpose. I know I did, it didnt hurt nobody. So what if Tom lied about his age... it was still an age that listed him in his 30's! BIG DEAL! ... we all have better things to worry about like our outrage gas prices, the economy.. and of course OUR Troops!. Come on people this is unproductive media news that should've focused on real issues.
