SKENNEDY
I believe in spirts and fallen angels and stuff like that not because of my mind, but because of my religion. Im a roman catholic. this stuff is interesting but peole need to realize that there are just somethings in the world that can't, shouldn't, or won't be explained.
You can argue the mind playing tricks on you. But whats hard to debunk is the physical evidence such as objects moving and not only seen by the naked eye but on film. Unexplained voices that interact with people. Messages from voices that become true. In some cases it can be your mind playing tricks but I do not beleive its always the case. Especailly if two people see and here the same thing. If you really investagate all the phenomenon you find its more harder to put logically explainations to all cases than able to debunk them all. People just have to understand there is just more to the world than the living and it has nothing to do with us wanting to beleive it, it often tries to tell us this.
It's of particular interest to me how many people simply disregard the science, dismissing it outright. Science is a powerful force for good, and to flippantly ignore it is foolish. Most of us are alive today because of scientific advancement. Science is not bad, though there is such a thing as bad science. Our minds do "fill in the blanks." We do try to make sense of the insensible, and that's a good thing, but it should be applied with a degree of skepticism.
In other words, if you think you see a ghost, don't assume it's a ghost. If something goes bump in the night, it's more likely a mouse or a cat than your dead aunt.
Now having said that, I want to make it clear that not only do I believe in spirits, an afterlife, and God, I have a deep faith, but it's faith. I have seen things too, but upon closer examination, they turned out to be mundane. I don't believe in a God that wants us to fool ourselves with vain imaginings. You will never find a truth that will disprove another truth. God is real, I believe that, but I don't believe in ghosts or hauntings, or esp, or telepathy, etc.
How do I reconcile my faith and my belief in science? Simple... God is the supreme scientists. With the limits we have in our understanding of the universe and the forces it contains, we have done amazing things. To a being with unlimited knowledge and understanding, what might be possible? But none of it is supernatural.
I LOVE believers! I do not understand how people who say that spirituality is not real, then it should not be a big issue. Why would you spend so much time and energy trying to take away something that provides stability and sustanance. Doesn't research show that we need to believe in a higher power to be comfortable with our existance and yet people, who are supposed to help us, choose take away our stability by using man based theories minus exploration of HIM, and try to convince that we were not made with a purpose and that we just will cease to exist after death. But, just because you can't prove something exist, do not mean that it does not! God is God, no matter what we think about HIM!
to lvdancer: I, too, am Catholic and share the beliefs in ghosts and Heaven. Think of our simplest prayer: "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost."
Many things occur and are experienced throughout the course of time. These experiences are explained using Faith (religion), Science, or a balance of the two.
Science is a logical approach to explaining reality through experiences and speculation; this means that Science, in essence, has the potential to explain everything in due time. This is often argued against though, because a way does not exist to determine the amount of time it could take to accumulate the amount and variety of experiences, speculations, and perceptions that are needed to do so.
Faith usually contains beliefs that may or not have a logical base, and may or may not be possible to prove. For example: ( I will choose the Bible because it offers one of the best examples I have come across) In the Bible, there are many accounts and references to reality that are parallel to Science, and were even concieved before Science had indeed proven it irreputably. The water cycle was discussed in the Bible, though not known by that identity, as well as the spherical state of the Earth.
Superstitions, more often than not, are unable to be logically supported or proven more substantially in any way other than circumstantially, which usually leaves a great deal of information to be desired. This is not to say that proof is needed for something to be real, because many things are in fact beyond our ability to comprehend, prove, and/or explain accurately as of yet.
Many theories, explanations for experiences, and speculations for those experiences exist. Some are based on logic and then enhanced or elaborated on with Science-fiction and superstition. Some are so completely illogical and so poorly and illiterately detailed and described that it would take a fool to recognize it as truth. When it comes down to it, whether or not it is correct or in controversy with others, it is what you choose to believe.
I BELIEVE IN SPIRITS.MY HOUSE IS FULL OF LOVE AND MY WIFE DEAD AUNT LIVES WITH US.SHE AS PRINTED MESSAGE TO USE OVER THE YEARS ABOUT EVENTS IN OUR LIFE WHICH MIGHT HAPPEN. BOTH GOOD AND BAD BUT EVERYTHING WORKS OUT GOOD IN THE END.YOU CAN NOT SEE HER BUT THIS TEACHES MY FAMILY THAT THERE A DIFFERENT FORM OF LIFE AFTER DEATH.SO I KNOW FIRST HAND THERE IS A LIFE AFTER DEATH AND NOW I BELIVE IN SPIRITS (NOT ALCOHOL SPIRITS) JADEK
I wish I could buy this guys beliefe that it is only our brain functions. There was a time I would have called anyone crazy who believed in ghost but that all changed a number of years ago when we moved into a new, or should I say very old, home. New to us! No! We didn't see things from the corner of our eyes and go, "OH a ghost." We literally saw a man, on numerous occasions right there in the house. He looked solid. I can't describe what it was like living in that home. I can't describe the things that happened in such a short time.that I have hear to write about it. But let's just say, this skeptic will never doubt anyone again. Suffice it to say, we didn't stay there long. We know that the people who moved into the house after us had an even more difficult time of it than we did. We know that a toaster flew up of off one of their cabinets and hit the mother of that house in the head at one point. That house is bad news and anyone living in it is not living with their family only. Something else is in that house. The events that occured there while we were living in that home will forever remain with me and my family. We have never had anything happen like that to us before nor have since. Thank Heavens!
I would expect a scientist to come to all these conclusions. But there are so many unexplained things that have happened to me, that I can't honestly say you are right. There are some people that think they see things, who's to say they don't. I wrote an ex-husband about a year ago asking him if there were something up around where he lives. I got an answer on my answering machine giving me 2 phone numbers to call him at. He said he had something important to tell me. I went shopping that saterday and checked my messages. He sounded like he was trying to be quiet, so not to disturb someone that may be sleeping. But he gave me the numbers. The phone told me when he had called the night before . I called one of the numbers fully expecting him to come to the phone. There was a deadly silence on the line and I asked again. His brother had answered the phone and he stammered, well.uh.....Joe died last night. I was amazed! I couldn't believe it. No, i told him, i have a message on my answering machine, When? was his question. At 9:38P.M. I answered. Oh, he said , no that is impossible , Joe was brain dead at that time and died at 11:30P.M. I had my daughter listen to the message. My other daughter thought I was going nuts. I ask his brother how he thought I got those numbers if Joe hadn't given them to me. He had no answer for that. I have an answer for it. I also have an answer for the photo Of another husband that had died 3 years before the photo was taken. Got an answer for that one too? I think not. We are not suppose to know why. Just take the messages from the other side and see what happens. The phone message deleted itself 3 days after I got it. There were no record on the phone bill of the call ever being made either. But Now, I do believe. You say what you want, but I know what I know.
yep just shows you how ignorant science is.... like their arent demons and ghosts.... you know there are even people that dont believe reindeer can fly... yet i know there are some out there.. we just havent found them yet... and since no one can prove me wrong i must be right
Ghosts are the name that many people give them, but they are actually good or becoming good spirits, like this world full of good or becomeing good people. If you did not learn how to love in this live you eventually will in this one or many lives to come. One thing is for sure: If you put your acts and mind toward doing good things to yourself and to others you will attract good spirits like you but if you do the contrary, becareful what may turn around, you will be surrounded of spirits like you. I am not affraid of them because I treat them all like brothers and sisters and the best of all is to give them LOVE and as you don't judge the others, they will stay away from you. Lots of so called ghosts are people who left this world before they could not turn out to be good people, so this is your change, I mean, we are in this world to learn and to change ourselves in any good way you may think of, but if you are not willing to change yourself (not the others), beware of what you may become, but remember I will still love you no matter who you are, I am not a judge to be judging no one like me, if I am in this world I am not better than any one! I am in the same classroom, not even the Greatest Judge God, not even Him judged no one, will you? whether you are a Pastor, Christian, believe or not bielive in God, becareful judging around, we are in no position to do that! but to love each other. It is very hard for me to believe in the paranormal since my life has been completely normal so far, but that could change at anytime if my life is suddenly turned upside down by a drastic event. I guess sometimes you have to see to believe.
true science always conforms to God's revelation. http://www.totustuus.com/evolmary.htm
I was a non-believer of paranormal....after my experience or I should say experiencES.....I have had so much in my life....that now I believe....they exist....too much experience to deny and no it's not just our brain how it functions...these things are real!!! Proof? I can share my experiences if anyones interested? Dilshad40@hotmail.com
I believe there is a ghost in my school girls bathroom. We believe her name is Erica we hear her pass through the locker room and her cool breeze as she does so. We also hear knocking and gaming sounds that go BEEP but there is no body. I am no longer scared I look at her as a friend now and greet her as I am alone in the locker room.
I BELIEVE IN SPIRITS BECUSE MY WIFE DEATH AUNT IS LIN\VING IN OUR HOME AND HAS EVEN PRINTED NOTES TO MY ENTIRE FAMILY OVER A PEROID OF YEARS.YOU CAN SEE HERE BUT THINGS HAPPEN THAT HAVE NO EXPLANATION TO THEM.MAYBE THIS MIGHT ENLIGHTEN SOME PERSON ABOUT A DIFFERENT FORM OF LIFE AFTER DEATH.I BELIEVE IN SPIRITS.
You want to talk to a clairvoyant? Talk to Donna Eden a great healer. She can tell you what is wrong in your body just by looking at you. (The energies of your body show where you have a problem). At first I couldn't believe what I was seeing until I met her in person. Unbelievable experience.
I believe when we die we will be with our loved ones again and I believe our loved ones are still here with us .We can not see them, but we still feel their presence .Life does go on for the living and if you believe in true love and happiness life will go on when your gone in one way or another. So yes I do believe in the after life as well. tina
I experienced my first ghostly encounter when I was 15 years old: As I was getting ready for church one Sunday morning. My mom had just finished cooking dinner as she'd always did every sunday unless we were eatting out, which was a rarity. She had jumped in the shower while I was still getting ready. My back was turned towards my bedroom door. I had just turned around when I saw a shadowy male figure walk past my bedroom door into my mother's bedroom. My first reaction was that it was my middle sister who had left the house to go over to a neighbors to show off our baby sister's outfit. Well that was quickly dismissed as I peeked out to look into my mother's room and saw no one. Then I looked up towards the ceiling towards the kitchen and I saw what appeared to be smoke. I ran into the kItchen and the pan that she had just fried chicken in was in flames. (Me not knowing at the time that water and grease fire don't mix). I poured water from a pot that my mom had soaking at the time onto the fire." WHAT THE HECK I DO THAT FOR!". That mug said swoosh. I ducked, screamed, and ran back into my room and crammed into a corner. My mom heard my scream and ran out of the bathroom naked. She saw the smoke and quickly took care of the situation. Then the testified about it in church. I was so embarrased because of what I had done. To make this long story short. I believe the ghostly figure was warning me and my mom about the fire. That made me a believer!
