I didn't see the point to mentioning abortion clinic arson twice in this article. It just shows that writers feel justified in inserting an unrelated bias into reporting on these terrible wildfires. If they wanted to talk about other forms of arson why mention abortion clinics (only 173 cases of arson in the last 30 years), when they could have talked about arson directed against Christian churches - about 20 to 30 cases A MONTH!

I read this and I couldn't help but think of Firefly, a villain from the Batman comics. (Although he was a pyromaniac.)

Hey animush...not too great of an argument anymore, when we actually have DNA evidence. I believe zaksmom did state "Proven," so I agree with her. A better point would be one made by sadiebug. The reason it costs more to put someone to death than life in prison is the appeals process that is nearly constant. It could certainly use some reform, but zaksmom is right in the sense that if it were possible to put someone down on the spot, we should be all for it in these circumstances.

I enjoyed visiting Palm Springs and the neighboring cities to the North for many years and one thing that I noticed coincided with the serious wildfires in fall was the heavy growth of grass and brush standing in contrast with the usual greyness color of the hills and low mountains common to the areas. Some years these growths appear much bigger and greener than other years and the fall fires, if they occur at all, always seem dryer, hotter and far more serious than other years.

I???m the best source to devise a way to control this growth but it seems to me if the hillsides and valleys are to be made as safe as possible from uncontrollable wildfires such needs to be done. People seems to enjoy building and maintaining their home in a dense green forest as do most animals which of course can be deadly is allowed to burn.

I would not have believed it, but after many years of following wildfires and their causes, many prolific fires have been prosecuted as arson and found to have firefighters behind them. One nationally covered case was in Colorado where the girlfriend of a firefighter, a colorado game and fish officer, admitted to starting the fir so her boyfriend could get massive overtime pay associated with the fires. In another case, 2 off duty firefighters were arrested at the bottom of a hill where a fire was just started. They were charged with arson. The world doesn't need to believe me, just follow the cases and decide for yourself. Proecute these people. Charge them with murder, since people were killed. Get off of this terrorist wagon. Open your eyes. Take care of what happens in your own backyard.
