THE BIN LADEN CONNECTION: TENDRILS OF TERRORISM

·POWELL'S CASE:Focused largely on Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, "an associate and collaborator of Osama bin Laden" who went to Baghdad for medical care in 2002 and is said to have a training camp in northern Iraq. Nearly two dozen "Al Qaeda affiliates" reportedly followed Zarqawi to the capital and remain there.
·THE BOTTOM LINE:Zarqawi is head of Al Tawhid, a terror group sometimes (but not always) allied with Al Qaeda. Western intelligence has been unable to determine how close the ties are between Saddam and Zarqawi.
