Also, I worked in the past for a Republican polling organization and the hate for Bill Clinton was so palpable even before his first election. Now they must hate hime and hillary even more (if that's possible) because of the success of the Clinton admiistratron versus George W. What did anyone think of his attacks on congress last Thursday?

There was more than a faint drop of blood produced last night! Your article seems to spin in favor of Hillary by insinuating her responses were just a sneeze. It was written as if we should have sympathy for her and her aides now and what she must face in the future. During the debate, she was clearly at a loss for words to back up her positions several times. Don't decide the democratic debate for us with your keyboard.

Liberty-first - you are so right on this! What other candidate would be able to tell GQ Magazine that the story they wrote that was not favourable could not be printed? Who else could get away with that but a Clinton? She probably threatened the lives of the publishers family - and their cat.

Hey kas_wolf! Why are you cluttering things up with unimportant, adolescent trivia. Who gives a fig about a silly magazine article. Surely you can find something of menaing to criticize Hillary for at this time. Kyl-Lieberman might make a good start.

I agree with ABF. Also, I am a healthcare consultant with a business devoted to the industry. Hillary's plan makes sense. You can't socialize healthcare a la Kuchinich for a variety of reasons. Even Medicare is administered by various health plans in the private sector. I've read Hillary's plan and it makes sense. Her vote on Iran is responsible especially with the new language she and Webb inserted. It's not a neocon bill since neither Kyle or Lieberman are neocons. Eswards isn't being honest. BTW. I thought Joe Biden won the debate!

I think that the same thing is happening to Hillary that happened to Franklin D Roosevelt. She is being atacked on all sides both from within her own party, by the Republicans, who to my joy are absolutely going into paroxysms of hatred fo her (Go to the RNC web site to see hysteria) and by the vested interests that cannot bear the thought of a populist President. I beleive that she has an example in front of her to refer to in Roosevelt and I hope that she will take the same strong position he took as regards these attacks. " These people are unanimous in their hate for me???and I welcome their hatred...." She made an incredibly stupid error in voting for the Iran War resolution and, given what George W. Bush did with the Iraq War resolution which didn't authorize a war either, one wonders how she could have made the same disasterous and ill conceived mistake twice. However one gaffe does not a Presidency lose and if she continues to fight as she has done and looks to Roosevelt for inspiration, she'll win. And so will the United States.

Those were "attacks"? Really?! Asking her to clarify those constant non-answers? Hillary never takes a position she can't later back away from completely, if events play out differently. And finally her competitors and the media are looking for honest answers - and already the Hillary campaign and sympathizers in the media are claiming it's "gotcha politics" and "going on the attack"? Talk about protesting too much.

A little defensive, are we? Wait until things actually get tough ...

I think it will be good for Barack to attack Hillary on her vote on Kyle-Lieberman,,,,,good for her, since he didn't have the guts to even show up to cast a vote. Edwards has "wimp" written all over him and his attacks just made me think he is desperate and reminded me of the Republican's. Hillary stood her ground and now it is time to send out Bill to finish them off.

I read your comment and I have to disagree with you. Lets be realistic here, of course the other candidates are attacking Hilary this is a competition for a bunch of type A personality candidates with the same goal???to win! Hilary Clinton is no saint she had made several negative comments about Barack Obama way before these debates when she realized he was a threat. This country is in a serious crisis right now morally, politically, socially. Politicians realize that the american people are unhappy with the current administration so, they have to strategize their debate to appeal to the masses. Unfortunately, Hilary has looked very weak during the past debates. That diabolical laugh she was ill-advised to do can't even save her. Hilary has made several mistakes Hilary has accepted money from lobbyists which means for the right price she can be bought. I'm not convinced hilary is not a war monger her husband Bill Clinton has a history of authorizing bombing campaigns against Iraq and Yugoslavia while in office. Hilary voted to send troops into Iraq which shows poor judgement skills. Voting for Hilary is like voting for George Bush for the third time, i think i will pass. She is not being clear or honest about her positions with illegal immigrants receiving drivers license or the Iraqi war. I do not want a president who isn't clear on serious issues. Do you?

Back in 2000 and 2004, not anyone I talked to wanted Bush to win. In fact, a lot of people across the states did not want Bush to win. Yet he won. TWICE. Now, no one wants Hillary to win and I am guessing based on the numbers and that she is the front runner that she probably will win. Neither are qualified for the job. Don't get me wrong, I do not equate Bush with Hillary. I believe she is much better than this imbecile but I don't think she is the best out there nor do I think any of the candidates are good. If it was for me I would vote for Al Gore because he is the best. Americans do not vote on who is best anymore, they vote on other meaningless. The elections became American Idol or America's Next Top President. It is shamefull and retarded to say the least. This country is simple full of idiots and the idiots are the majority and the majority rules. We are going down and we are going down fast and no one is paying attention.

I was not a Hillary fan up until last night. She came out strong and weakened a bit by debates end but there is no one on that stage who would have handled the pressures that she faced any better and quite frankly I believe all others would have weakened considerably more with the exception maybe of Joe 'Cool Hand Luke' Biden. Make this guy the VP, 'man'

I want to know if any of the Hillary lovers on this forum actually know what her platform is - today of course since once the polls come in, her view would change to meet them.

  • Posted By: kas_wolf @ 10/31/2007 10:02:09 AM

OMG - the more you listen to her, the more you hear her contradict what she said the last time you heard her speak. She is a jackal. While I would love to have a woman President, it is NOT this woman.

Also, i fear that the world is not ready for a woman President of the US. I think it will strengthen the resolve of our enemies. Enemies that Hillary wants to "make friends with" so we can all play nice.

It is not Rove who is laughing at us. It is the terrorist leaders who know we will be sitting ducks when Hillary gets into office.

As for them attacking her last night. they should - there is PLENTY of dirty laundry in the Clinton closet - from campaign fund-raising misconduct to lying to stealing sensitive documents. She is as filthy as a mob boss. Wake up people. YOu think things are tough now? Wait and see how the US of A doesn't exist any longer once "good ole Hil" gives amnesty, welfare, social security, back tax refunds, and "hillary-care" to 30 million illegals. Wait til she brings the troops home and we see Iraq taken over by Iran - oh, and by the way, tht oil we buy from that area of the world? Well, they are going to sell it to Russia and China - yeah - and your homes will have no heat, no gas to get to work...

Is THIS future what you want for your children? Wake up!!!!

Edwards was using the same Republican tactic Bush Sr. used against Dan Rather and Reagan used against Bush Sr. in New Hampshire. Have your attack line ready and wait for the slightest chance to use it. I thought Hillary was pretty clear in her answer about supporting the Governor of NY and given some time, would have won the debate. No matter to Edwards who had his slurs at the ready no matter what!
truth, "both sides of the issue", "evasive" slurs

  • Posted By: libertyfirst @ 10/31/2007 9:50:21 AM

Oh, please...enough with the poor Hillary getting "attacked" line. Why is it that any criticism of Hillary gets couched in terms of vicious "attacks" meant to "tear her down." The idea that a person's character, past voting records, and political behavior should somehow be "above" critiqueing is both foolish and dangerous. Perhaps why many, many people are down on Hillary is for the mountains of evidence of her near pathological pursuit of power and relentless pandering to whoever and whatever group offers her more votes. Enough with this "high road" for Hillary perception. Campaigns are about electing people. People who have histories, beliefs, and political track records that are fair game for critique because they make up the character of who we elect to make our decisions on our behalf. Ideas in Washington are a dime a dozen and come and go with the wind. But the people stay. So we better know who we're sending.

I think we have to start watching what these candidates are doing...not just what they are saying... This year when we vote we need to choose someone we would trust with our lives....because that is in reality what we are doing. Lets face it people seldom change their veiws...I mean think about it...who do you personally know that will change their mind and do what you think is right just because you ask them to....NO ONE DOES...at least no one I know does...We have to look at the choices the candidates have made in the past...because that is the way they will be in the future...because saying and doing are two different things. RIGHT? I want what they say and what they do to match....I want an honest opinion...I don't want to hear my opinion spit back at me with no real thought as to really doing what is said...This time when we vote to put someone into office we need to really know what their views are...It's not about the party they are in anymore or what sex they are...it is about who they really are...and if they represent who we are.

The last time i checked, this is still America, the greatest democracy in the world. What happened to Hillary Clinton last night were not attacks by Edwards,Obama and the rest. This was a cry out,a cry out to the democrats to wake up.After Bush, the American people are,to be succinct, tired of politicians that double talks........all she did last night was double talk.Enough already. This is not a winning strategy.

its a joke. The whole darn thing is just LUDACRIS. Will hilary look strong enough, when "pounced on" by the fellas? Will the "***" be able to sound smart enough? will the old geezer sound modern enough? will the young "cracka" look open minded enough? ITS ALL A SHOW! A show, to see whbo can NOT be, what everyone thinks they may be. Who is the best speaker? who is the best dressed? tallest? shortest? THEY EVEN make sure that all of them are standing on the same level....as not to LOOK taller/shorter!!! ITS A SHOW! They used pre-set questions, they used pre-set answers, and they dont get anything done.
SOmeone PLEASE tell me that you dont actually use this crap to deside the most powerful leader of the free nations! I dont care how well spoken they are, gay, straight, woman, man, old, young, tall, short. I want a list, SIGNED AND DATED by each one of them, saying what they are going to do, what they stand for, and that if they cant do it, they will resign to the next in the polls. PERIOD. I dont need cheerleeder, we need a president. A COMMANDER AND CHIEF. and we should elect them based on how they will COMMAND and CHIEF.

I have to say that I am very disappointed in the Democratic Party for setting forth such a negative campaign towards each other. You would think that we could learn from the past and stand united as a party. The desperate attempts to become the nominee have turned into nothing more than immature and deliberate attempts to tear each other down. I cannot believe that MSNBC played such an active role in this witch hunt against Clinton Tuesday night. Obviously, they intended the entire debate to be focused on Hillary. When ever the focus was off of her, they made sure that it was turned right back on her. All I can say is that Rove must be laughing. He doesn't have to put any efforts strategizing against the Dems this campaign. We, as Democrats, are doing it to ourselves. What a shame!
