Nice. An interesting, precice explaination that conveys the ingenuity of wistfulness. Electronics are a cold, standard-issue offering that is due for a makeover. Things will always be altered with a retro look that is appealing and functional.
    Are you listening, computer manufacturers?

Ha. He's really talking about a well-established anime genre. Silly western journalist.

Serioulsy, as wstephenjackson says, this seems like a good idea, considering the move of home design away from contemporary towards traditional.

I confess to absolutely loving this idea! I sit here on my black plastic cased Dell, which never really has seemd to fit in this oak paneled room lined with musty old books, Atmos Clock on the mantle, and somehow that look just seems to fit. Now I was rather into such an esthetic since my childhood and it certainly has a very Jules Verne feel to it ... Were I a better craftsman in wood and brass, I no doubt would have tinkered together something like this long ago! Of course my wife would no doubt think me mad!

What if YouTube had existed 100 years ago? I made a short video about the Steampunk Internet:

It has been well received in the Steampunk community.
