you are absolutely right. You have just described the foundation of the KARL ROVE/BUSH DOCTRINE. THEY USED 9\11 as an excuse to lead us into the greatest catastrophe of this century so FAR. IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. LOOK AT THE MESS WE HAVE MADE IN THE MIDDLE EAST. THOSE PEOPLE HATE US and we have killed Hundreds of thousands. WORST OF ALL WE SENT OUR YOUNG TO DIE FOR WHAT SO IRAQ CAN HAVE A CORRUPT REGIME UNDER THE NAME OF DEMOCRACY. LOOK AT AFGHANISTAN. THe GOVERNMENT THERE IS SO CORRUPT and so inefficient that we are now in a greater mess than we were before. IT IS JUST ALL WRONG. YOUNG AMERICANS ARE DYING SO HALLIBURTON COULD PROSPER AND MAKE BILLIONS. CHENEY ROVE RUMSFIELD; THESE GUYS ARE SO EVIL AND SO TWISTED; USING BIBLE QUOTES in the name of war. THE CLOSEST THING TO NAZI'S a NAzi regime we have ever seen.

I AGREE WITH CARAMIA'S COMENT. EDUCATION IS A MUST. AND I WILL LOOK UP THAT MOVIE "OBSESSION: ISLAMS WAR ON THE WEST". BUT ISLAMS IS NOT ONLY WITH THE WEST, IT IS WITH ANYONE, EVEN THEIR OWN PEOPLE WHO WANT PEACE OR EQUALITY AND FREED OM FOR ALL PEOPLE. I TOO PRAY FOR PEACE IN THE MIDEAST, AFGHAN, IRAQ AND ALL THOSE MUSLIM CONTROLLED COUNTRIES WHO BRAIN WASH THEIR OWN COUNTRYMEN WITH HATRED AND KILLING.
GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND ONCE AGAIN I FERVANTLY PRAY FOR PEACE AND TOLERANCE.

Let them kill each other and do whatever they want with their universities and country, why bother? We have got our own problems, why worry about others? All outsiders must get out of Iraq and I mean all.Once they are tired of killing each other, then they will stop.

Education is a must... You must understand the culture, history or the middle east, and the religion of Islam itself. Please understand that the people of Iraq, Iran and middle east are victims of Islamic extremists and a false religion which for generations have brain washed their people into demonizing Israel and the West (Europe and the US). Islam is not a peaceful religion. An excellent movie for everyone to watch is "Obsession: Islam's War on the West." That's all I have to say. God bless and be with you all.

What a surprise. Its only been going on for 1500 years and the fight between Kurds and Arabs for 4000 years. It was a grand gesture and revealed a deep level of understanding of the situation in Iraq that the United States believed that by toppleing the only stable government Iraq had know for a hundred years with an invasion, they might have set loose these animosities once again. Ah, but how soon we forget. No such thought waas give to the historical and current realities of the situation. What was needed was something, anything that would divert the people from the fact that their Presiddent had behaved in a totally incompent manner following 9/11 and that he hedn't the slightest idea what to do next. Give the a war; bread ancdcircuses. Bush believed that the people would hail him as a wartime President if he invaded an uninvolved, extremely weak, little country in the Middle East whose Dictator was hated by the world that he would win a victory, the mission would be accomplished, the Iraqis would welcome us with open arms and the Americans would have an admirable.President. It take monumantal stuopidity and God given idiocy to have thought that, but he did it. And now he has a half trillion dollars wasted, thousands of Americans dead to no purpose and hundreds of thousands of their side dead, civil war in the streeets, now the fires of hatred loosed again in the classrooms, the prospect of a decade of the same yet to come and the end result will be as if we had never been in Iraq save for the swifter ascension of Iran to the mightest nation in the Middle
    East.

George W. Bush wil be remembered all right. As the man who made the greatest political, historical, military and economic blunder in the history of the word. The almost biblical slaughterer of hundreds of thousands to no purpose and the man who started the United Staters on its decline from the world stage. He will rank up there with the other great failures of History.

So another "no connection to 9-11" statement. How hard is it to figure out that the attack wasn't an attack by a person but an attack by an ideology? The big hurdle for small minds is that there are those in the middle east who would like to lose religion enough to live in the modern world as well as the majority who don't. To make the change there must be a change in power such that religion plays a back seat role to political acceptance in the world. Saddam wasn't going to play along and neither will the mullahs. Usurping their control isn't an option it is a must. Not removing religion from government is really appeasing the terrorist base. Their traditional application of Islam is in no way able to accept westerners, western trade, values or legal systems. It is a slippery slope indeed and lives will be lost but fewer than not engaging them in an attempt to marginalize hostile religious zealots.

The failure is with the publics understanding of the issue and blithering all this nonsense about GWB being the bad guy. Did you ever stop to think it has to be done on the sly to avoid uniting the sects against the west? DUH! It isn't over and may take many years if it actually can be done but it is far beter than an all out war with Islam against every infidel state. Or have you converted ?

Why would you make statement with such contained hypocrasy? "...grant ample FREEDOM of religion, so that CHRISTIANS may come in mass, and teach these people how to be human!" Don't you get it, religion is the reason there is so much violence, religion is the reason they are killing eachother and hate the US so much. The last thing they need is another group of people born into priveledge telling them how to live their lives and drop the foundation of who they are. Acceptance and understanding are the key to conflict not telling someone how to live and think.

Iraq needs to grow up in a hurry. These people seem to be 300 years behind the Western civilization! Too many beheadings and stuff! One way is to put a strong government thatt would grant ample freedom of religion, so that Christians may come in masse, and teach these people how to be human!

I just don't understand why everybody can not get along? How come we can not see past each other's differences? Just because your parents hated each other or your grand parents hated each other, does not mean that the kids of the future can not interact and get along and create a peaceful society. I mean these are college students killing each other because of their religious beliefs.

I agree. It is hard to understand why there is such contention. Everything seems to be about power, intimidation, and force. I guess they never heard of "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar."
