    I will not vote in this election. I voted for Hillary in the primary here in Pennsylvania but I will not be a part of the general election. My democratic friends feel the same way as I do. The day we get rid of the racial quotas and getting scholarships because your skin is black is the day I will vote for a black president. I am a young white person and I feel myself getting upset because there are all black colleges, scholarships that I can't get because I have the WRONG skin color --- what's any different then it was when white people were treating blacks that way? We just turned the table --- now you get punished for being white. Well, I did not choose my skin color. I think it's time we look at people for what they are ----- PEOPLE instead of a skin color and we need to get rid of the racism on both sides!!! When that happens I will vote for a Presidential canidate.

      You almost sound racist in your way of thinking there. I know this is WAY late, but did you know that if you applied to a historically black college or university that you could apply under a minority scholarship? You mentioned all black colleges, are you proposing that we get rid of all white colleges too? I mean the only reason that there are all black colleges is because at one point in our history we weren't allowed to learn and whites wouldn't let us in so we had to start ones for ourselves. They are still standing but they are not, nor have they ever, been closed to whites. Whites just choose not to attend them. Did you hear about the Caucasian gentleman who applied to, went to and is now graduating Valedictorian of MOREHOUSE College in Atlanta? Well it's an all male, all black (sans the few whites that applied and attend) and he is the Valedictorian. So if you feel that you are being held back it's only because of your own limitations.

      Like Jackasssiegel said, Afirmative action was instituted because at the time it was needed and unfortunately, as Kentucky, West Virginia and all the other Applichian states have shown, racism still is entrenched in this country and until everyone is truly equal then it's still needed. It's sad and it's unfortunate but it's also still a part of American life and our culture.

      This is what Obama was saying we need to open a dialoge about race in this country and begin healing wounds instead of pushing them down (applying pressure) and hope that they scab and heal over on their own. It's never going to happen because those that use race as a crutch (blacks) and those that use it to hold another down (SOME whites-not all) have got to open their minds and figure something out.

      Those that hate because of a persons skin color probably can't tell you WHY they hate because of it withough spewing some lie that they were told (and believed). It's all based on stereotypes.

    While I agree about affirmative action your comment about not voting for a black president because of these issues doesn't make sense. You are not voting for him based on the color of his skin while at the same time complaining about you not getting a fair shake because of the color of your skin. sounds like sour grapes. No offense. We should vote on the issues not the color of his skin. remember he is also white. Also one more thing of contention. Affirmative action was instituted by our predominately white government because at the time it was needed. Now not so much but don't blame someone for the choices our forefathers did.

    I would like to know why it is against party rules to have a primary early. I say so what, have it when ever you want. Isn't the important thing here is the vote? Michigan and Florida should not be left out because of a technicality.

      I think if Florida is left out of this democratic process --- you're going to be seeing a BIG red blob over top of it in the general election --- they'll be sending their own message to the Democratic committee. I know if I lived there --- I'd actually waste my time to go out and vote on election day ---- and I'd vote for John McCain. Apparently their opinion doesn't count down there to the democrats so what's it matter if it goes red on election day. --- oh yeah --- I guess it did matter 8 years ago. Hmmm. I wonder if the other democrats in Florida feel the way I do about it. It'll be interesting to see in November. : )

    This map implies Clinton won Texas and Nevada, whereas Obama won more delegates in TX and tied in NV. The RULES of this game say it's the number of delegates that determines who is the nominee, so why do Newsweek and MSNBC so flagrantly seek to manipulate the facts? Graphic images and headlines are often all that viewers pay attention to, and these maps pretend that the race is closer than it has been.

    I would not be against having McCain (aka Bush No.2) in the White house at all. However I am just a citizen of Eastern Europe who appreciated Bush´s tough position against islamic terrorism and his pro-market economic policies and I am no bubba or anti-abortion fundamentalist either. But if US voters choose non-Bush president and along with him the European-style appeacement of dictators and European-style welfare state than really God help us!
