How can your delegate map above reflect that Hillary Clinton won both Michigan and Florida? According to the rules, they do not count. I see that the total number of delagates is listed as "0", but you should also reflect on the map that there was no winner. Hillary "won" because she broke the rules -- she campained in those states. I think you should be fair and list it correctly and not give credit where credit is certainly not due.

MYTH: For Hillary to win, super delegates must "overturn the will of the people."

FACT: The race is virtually tied, the "will of the people" is split, and both candidates need super delegates to win.

The Obama campaign and Sen. Obama's surrogates have engaged in a sustained public relations effort to convince people that the election is over and that if super delegates perform their established role of choosing a candidate who they believe will make the best nominee and president, they are somehow "overturning the will of the people." They have the audacity to make this argument while quietly and systematically courting those very same super delegates. They are courting them because they know that Sen. Obama needs super delegates to win. The Obama spin is being parroted daily by pundits, but it is patently false. The race is virtually tied; the "will of the people" is split. By virtually every measure, Hillary and Sen. Obama are neck and neck -- separated by less than 130 of the more than 3,100 delegates committed thus far and less than 1% of the 27 million+ votes cast, including Florida and Michigan. Less than 1%.

An incremental advantage for one candidate or the other is hardly a reason for super delegates to change the rules mid-game. Despite the Obama campaign's aggressive spin and pressure, the RULES require super delegates to exercise their best independent judgment, and that is what they will do. Even Sen. Obama's top strategist agrees they should. If not, then why don't prominent Obama endorsers like Senators Kerry (MA) and Kennedy (MA), and Governors Patrick (MA), Napolitano (AZ) and Richardson (NM) follow the will of their constituents and switch their support to Hillary? After all, she won their states. And if this is truly about the "will of the people," then Sen. Obama's short-sighted tactic to run out the clock on a revote in Florida and Michigan accomplishes exactly two things: it disenfranchises Florida and Michigan's voters; and it hurts Democrats in a general election. Apparently, for the Obama campaign, the "will of the people" is just words.

People need to remember that primary elections are not federal elections, they are party elections. The parties set the rules not the federal government. The rules need not be fair nor must the seem democratic. Caucuses certainly aren't democratic in nature.

If superdelagates are part of the rules why are you Democratics (superdelegates) so squeamish about supporting the candidate most likely to win a national election?

Obama step aside and let Hillary do the job.

Superdelegates grow up and do the job your party has you there to do. Cast you votes for the strongest candidate against MCCain or we'll all see at least another 4 years of a Republican administration.

I WANT TO FIX HILLARY CLINTON FOR STAYING WITH BILL WHEN SHE SHOULD HAVE DIVORCED HIM OVER:
    1. HIS ANTIMASTURBATION
    2. HIS CHEATING ADULTERY
ALSO IM AGAINST HER NOT LISTENING TO ME ABOUT VOTING AGAINST THE ANTI POKER BILL (PHONE CALLS, LETTERS) AND RECEIVING FUNDING FROM HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY OVERCHARGING AND AGE DISCRIMINATING. I ALSO BELIEVE LIKE JOE LIEBERMAN THAT BILL CLINTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPEACHED AFTER ILLEGALLY CHEATING ON HIS WIFE.

Why are we as a party attacking each other? We keep tearing each other down doing so much damage to ourselves within our own party as the republican just sweep on through and steal the presidency. If Hilary gets the nomination are not going to vote for her because she beat Obama, If Obama wins are you not going to vote for him because he beat out Hilary? A democrat is a democrat. Get it together people. I'm all for some healthy competition but what the hell are we doing???? McCain will win simply because we are acting like 5 year olds.

  • Posted By: Fuego415 @ 03/13/2008 11:08:47 AM

When it comes down to it is all this fighting within the democratic party necessary? We should be working together not tearing each other down...this is truly ridiculous. All this fighting is just what the GOP wants so that the democratic party can be blindsided while McCain walks right to the finish line.

    Rules Hillary lives by......

    ALINSKY's RULES FOR RADICALS
    "Personalize it"
Saul Alinsky's rules of power tactics, excerpted from his 1971 book "Rules for Radicals: A Practical Primer for Realistic Radicals"

    1. Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.

    2. Never go outside the experience of your people.

    3. Whenever possible go outside the experience of the enemy.

    4. Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.

    5. Ridicule is man's most potent weapon.

    6. A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.

    7. A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.

    8. Keep the pressure on.

    9. The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.

    10. Maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.

    11. If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside.

    12. The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.

    13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

The gave Hillary Michigan and Fl;orida but it still doesnt show that she won New Mexico.........What is wrong with everyone??? Obama cant run this country he is a two-faced liar and it has been proven in the last few weeks, open your eyes and ears before it's too late. All of you that vote for Obama are going to be sorry you voted for him just like you are sorry you voted for Bush. VOTE HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: TellItLikeItis1 @ 03/05/2008 2:45:01 PM

I agree with what you said Boston02118, we need Hillary to run this country, Obama cant run this country he doesnt have enough experience. Hillary did win New Mexico so why dont they show it on the map? it's the same with the media, they treat Obama with kid gloves and Hillary gets the worst end of the deal, they are not fair to her either. In the next few weeks we are going to start hearing things about Obama that is going to make everyone regret voting for him, it has already started coming out, like what he said in Ohio about NAFTA, he is two-faced and a Liar.
    VOTE HILLARY!!!!

the two greatest presidents in history had no political experience, washinton and lincoln look it up

      • Posted By: Boston02118 @ 03/06/2008 12:45:24 PM

Duh, George Washington was commander in chief of the VA malitia and the Continental Army before becoming president. I regret to inform you that his position (as is any such position) was political and the experience he gained in his military role gave him the experience he needed to be president.

        • Posted By: KeriTail @ 03/12/2008 11:42:46 AM

If you go by experience alone then you should vote for McCain with his military experience of 23 years and elected position in various levels of the government since 1983. After him would be Obama with experience being in an elected position since 1997. Hillary Clinton has only been in an elected position since 2001 and I don't care how much she claims her husband's two terms, she was not the one making the policies. Her claim is just as silly as if Gen. Moseley's (AF Chief of Staff) wife said she was in charge of the Air Force's policies.

    • Posted By: lmartins @ 03/06/2008 12:02:15 AM

We want a president who understands that his responsibility is to articulate a vision and encourage others to achieve it; who holds himself, and those around him, to the highest ethical standards; who appeals to the hopes of those who still believe in the American Dream, and those around the world who still beleive in the American ideal, and who can lift our spirits, and make us believe again that our country needs every one of us to get involved. We beleive Mr. Obama will be that president, not just for us, but for a new generation of Americans. I am 100% sure that Barack Obama will be our next president.

      • Posted By: Boston02118 @ 03/06/2008 12:52:45 PM

Exactly who believes this? You do. I think that Obama and his followers are quite presumptive of who he represents. It is not the majority of Democrats or Americans. Obama seeks to disenfranchise millions of Americans by not having their votes included in the Convention (FL and MI represent a large number of people) in order to keep skewing and spewing propeganda so that Mr. Obama's great fiction will become reality. FL and MI will be restored and we will see you at the Convention when Hillary takes the stage as the party's nominee. VOTE Hillary.

  • Posted By: twinkie @ 03/06/2008 1:29:38 PM

    What's wrong with this picture?
    According to this info:
    Obama has 1202
    Clinton has 1042
According to your chart, ALL the remaining delegates added together is 740!!!
Neither candidate can get the required 2025!
Where am I reading this wrong?

    • Posted By: Boston02118 @ 03/07/2008 9:31:16 AM

The numbers do not include 2 Hillary wins either in LARGE states (FL and MI). Because those states moved their primaries up they were punished by being stripped of their delegates at the DNC so they get zeroes on the count/map. No one will allow this to stand as it disenfranchises millions of American voters, so when the delegates are restored or there is a do-over, she will surge past Obama.

      • Posted By: KeriTail @ 03/12/2008 11:30:32 AM

Considering Obama wasn't even on the ballot in MI (which he would have won by a landslide) I don't think that if both states had a revote they would both have the same outcome as before.

    • Posted By: TexMexWisconsin @ 03/06/2008 3:40:44 PM

      Twinkie,

The numbers are correct. However, I think these number only represent the pledge delegates and not the super delegates.

  • Posted By: Stephen in Miami @ 03/12/2008 10:27:09 AM

First of all I strongly object to the election map showing both Michigan and Florida as going for Clinton. Those two primaries did not count as agreed by bot candidates back in October 2007.
Secondly, I do not unbderstand why all the arttention on Pennsylvania with its 188 delegates and expected win by Hillary Clinton. Two weeks following Pennsylvania, both Indiana and North Carolina vote with a combined 219 delegates and Obama is expected to win.
It is time for the Clintons to conceed and the party to rally around Barack Obama for President.

  • Posted By: walt1957 @ 03/09/2008 9:49:14 PM

I have a great way to settle who should be the nominee after the primary season is over. For every state won by each nominee, convert the winning state to its electoral college designated number; add all the states for each nominee with their respective number of won electoral votes. Whoever has the most electoral college votes then would go on to be the nominee in November to try and get the official electoral college votes. What do you think? Walt @wjemd@hotmail.com

    • Posted By: Boston02118 @ 03/10/2008 1:39:06 PM

Good idea...it's actually democratic. And Hillary wins then.

Caucuses are undemocratic and should be abolished. Although they are the only way that Obama can win since he does poorly in Primaries resulting from popular votes. Caucuses are essentially sleazy backroom deals done by party leaders and not representative of the real popular votes of party membership. Said best by Gov of PA: "Caucuses are undemocratic because they require people to be able to stay in a room all day and that leaves out shift workers, the elderly, the home bound, etc." Who can stand to sit in a room all day stalling?: college students and rich white people who have nothing better to do or the working class and elderly who make up the majority of the population. Hmmmm... Hardly democratic or representative.

I am sick of the media praising obama,, predicting obamas win, predicting hillary's loss. do they think we are all stupid. for once they should give equal time. brainwashing by the media is what most of thispolitiical process is about. Look at the states Hillary has won....they represent the majority of the population, not the states who have 1 person per square mile. its the same old heartland vote again that got us into this BUSH bullcrap....more of the same with Obama and unfortunately McClain.(a good man, but pro bush). Hillary can pick up the phone today and call any head of state of the world and get response and request. Unfortunately, i'm sure they're laughing their butts off at this obama. Stupid americans making another bad choice. get real folks, the men of the world have screwed up this world royally.....it's time for a change of mindset....VOTE HILLARY AND TELL EVERYBODY YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME.

Can you say "Whitewater or Impeachment?" Hillary is no Bill Clinton, she had a chance to come up with a universal healthcare plan and blew it.... Obama may not have lived in the Whitehouse, but he is intellegent enough to build a cabinet that will lead us out of a war that Hillary voted for and she has since ***... Wake up!!! Looking fwd to my visit to Aruba next month! Cheers mate!

HILLARY could not manage her own campaign PEOPLE...WAKE up. And you think she can run a country? What will she do, cry or use fear to keep us in line??? Opps....she will not have a chance because HELL will freeze over BEFORE she wins a GENERAL ELECTION.

There comes a time when even Democrats need to be REALISTIC! Hillary thought she would walk away with an easy victory and the PEOPLE thought otherwise....so, she had to donate $5 million of her own money to keep with the donations from the common people that were supporting Obama.

Asking people to work for free made her sound like Rudy.....So, for all of the Democrats over 50...LET GO OF THE 1990's. Heaven help us if the DNC take the party back to the Clinton era of scandals and drama.

MICHIGAN: Only 20% of the Democratic voters voted in our so-called Primary. Just a speculation, but being a seventh generation in Monroe, Michigan I might have an insight to what Michigan is looking for in a President, and I can tell you that it is NOT Hillary.

If you tally the total Democratic votes and compare them to the total Republican votes???Michigan is now apparently a Republican state by 2 to 1. I guess if Hillary wants to take credit for winning Michigan, she can also take the credit for it turning RED.

The campaign is starting to be ugly and my wife has said that if they somehow give nomination to Clinton she just won't vote. I think she should still vote just to make sure democrats take the white house. She thinks that it is just turned into petty politics on Clinton's part and not tough as it is characterized in the media.
Its like throwing stuff on the wall hoping some sticks and using fear. To insinuate that Obama couldn't lead or make decisions in a crisis is absurd. If people would look beneath the surface this would be a simple matter of judging each person. She insinuates that she has vast experience in national security which is also absurd.
