We as Americans need to stand up and realize our country was founded on beliefs in God and our state.Obama offers hope, change, and inspiration but I believe we just need to take a look back at what our country was founded upon and believe in that and stand for that! This was once a powerful nation and it can be again we just need to stand united one nation under God!I think our only hope has lost his chance and that was Mike Huckabee!

We want a president who understands that his responsibility is to articulate a vision and encourage others to achieve it, who holds himself , and those around him, to the highest ethical standards; who appeals to the hopes of those who still believe in the American Dream, and those around the world who still believe in the American ideal., and who can lift our spirits, and make us believe again that our country needs one of us to get involved. We believe Mr. Obama will be that president, not just for us, but for a new generation of Americans. I am 100% sure that Barack Obama will our next president.

Are you serious? Ethical standards? Laughable. Stop buying into the propegandistic drivel the Obama campaign spews out and dig a little deeper. He associates himself with criminals for his own personal (lovely garden he got himself as an add-on to his million dollar estate) and political (radical church membership to make himself look "black" enough) gain. He's a politician like any other so you can take down the halo.

obama is going to CHANGE this country to another third world country. He's got the typical mindset. If you want to lose patriotism, pride in country and all that this country has stood for then vote for this guy. We are at the crossroad and you better be ready to take a wrong turn if you vote for someone just because he's black like the texans voting for bush because he's a god old texas boy (what a joke). This guy has too many roots in other placesand hawaii is a total tourist state they dont really know what we go through here on the main land.

I can't help but find it ridciculuous that we are not finishing Primaries until June when the people vote in November. We are bombarded with canidates for a year and a half that will never make it to the ballot and less that six months to hear from the actual Presidential canidates. We are so wrapped up in Primaries and who is winning over who that we all seem to have forgotton that we are in the middle of an economic crisis that just can't wait a year and a half for an action plan. I love our country and it's government, but are we taking to much time on discisions to make discissions? I mean really.

    • Posted By: sam6966 @ 01/09/2008 10:09:05 AM

I don't mind that we only have 6 months between the election and the last of the primaries and caucuses. I do care however that all of these states are fighting to hold the first primary.
Let's face it, by the time the first several primaries are held, the candidates are pretty much decided for the rest of the electorate. It's all about a state's power and influence and has nothing to do with a fair and equitable process.
Let's change all the primaries and caucuses to the same date. You will then see a larger national debate, the candidates will not have to travel the entire country and maybe then we can get serious about kicking the special interest lobbyists out of campaign finance.

There is no way a woman or a black man is going to win the presidency this election year. So forget about it .

You have issues and are a REJECT from the past. Get a clue.

  • Posted By: js1bibleboy @ 02/13/2008 5:41:18 PM

Stella, Im going to make this very simple for you: We need someone with the better judgement who could make the RIGHT decisions from day one, not nessecarily the person with the most experience ( although experience could always help). The mindset that brought us into war needs to be changed (Clinton's mindset). I also want you to know that at such a high level (presidency) you wont have the time to get into the nuts and bolts of things. Your job at such a high level is to set the vision and way to the vision on a macro level. Obama, (unlike what you said) does have detailed plans to make health care affordable for everyone, and to withdraw from Iraq, etc. The difference is that in his 15-20 min of airtime, he chooses to inspire, instead of being a college proffesor. He also has a better chance of making his plans a reality because of his bipartisan appeal. Secondly, Obama has a better chance against McCain (the gop frontrunner) because he represents a true contrast to McCain ( the polls agree). McCain could easily say Clinton voted for the war in Iraq, and that she takes special interest money (which would be devastating). We cant have the same washington with the same "cast of characters."Stop thinking Candidates and think PARTY!

    • Posted By: SCCavie93 @ 03/06/2008 12:38:22 AM

Thank YOU for your wisdom! I wonder why more people are not using their brains???
Think PARTY and winning the ELECTIONS against McCain!

      OBAMA = VICTORY in NOVEMBER

we don't need a african american sympathetic president , the african americans have achieved enough statis in this country with their pitty me attitude, why is it that trash is being talked about all of the other candidates except Obama, fear of racial slurs? with black entertainment television, miss black america and the naacp breathing down this countrys throat, electing this man into office simply because of his skin color is a joke. Go Oprah !!! The big O has never come out for another candidate yet it's not because he's black.... be real. I don't care if he is Muslim, why does everyone seem to care that Romney is Morman ??? Get the facts people !!!! I will make a bet, I don't think that Obama is a bad person, or a bad candidate for that matter but i am fed up with hearing its about time for an african american President. If he is elected I bet that 90% of his staff is African American, lets wait and see. As for me Go HILL !!!!!!!!! LETS PUT A WOMAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND SEE WHAT CHANGES ARE MADE.

You are sick and really do NOT embody the spirit of America.

This is fine example of sexism, racism, hatred and ignorance all wrapped up into one person. Why are you so offended by African Americans getting together to better their community? Can't you see that you are preaching a double standard? No one gets upset when Caucasians get together to support one another. Caucasians have been banding together for centuries. Most businesses in the US are owned and run by Caucasians. Every time you turn on the television, there are more Caucasian faces than African American faces and yet your focus is on the few positive African American organizations like it's a negative thing. Not to mention, every President to date has been a Caucasian man, and you don't seem to have a problem with that. It's the media and usually Caucasians, who are making this a ???race thing???. They use phrases like "the Black vote" or "the Latino vote" which is a way to separate minorities, as if minority votes are different from Caucasian votes. The last time I checked, everyone's vote is counted equally. Whatever happened to referring to all Americans as "The People" like it was written in The Constitution"? Why not just look at the number of votes instead of who is casting those votes? When are we ALL going to stop judging by color and gender and see each individual as a person deserving of respect? Your entire comment displays a fear of the African American Community and that is extremely unfortunate because you shouldn't fear African Americans or any other group of people. As far as this "pity me attitude" that you claim African Americans are achieving status with; that comment is the biggest joke on this site! African Americans are hardly being handed respect because of their skin color. Statistics show that if you are a Caucasian male, you are respected more so than a Caucasian woman, and any other minority in this country. African Americans are trying to even the playing field and make opportunities possible and fair for everyone. That goes for Blacks, Whites, Asians, Latinos, etc. Get it straight, the African American Community is not seeking pity, they are seeking respect. The same respect that ALL Americans deserve.

I could not agree with you more.

    Dear Newsweek:
I've been watching your Primary map and since its inception you have never had it accurate, coincidentally consistently in Obama's favor. If you chose to use graphic representations that can obviously be misleading (try using a map that skews a state's geographic size by the electorate) then get it right. Hillary won New Mexico weeks ago. You bothered to update TX, OH, VT, and RI, but not NM??? Smells of Obama propeganda.

Hillary and Obama supporters: There is no question that Hillary will win PA, IN, KY, PR (with huge margins)and likely more... If you add the populations of the states that Hillary has and will win, she has the support of well over 60% of the US population (including MI and FL -- let's not argue that Obama even stands a chance and yes he did secretly campaign as much as Hillary did in FL and he got whooped). For a moment, take into account the share of the US economy that these Hillary states hold... Maybe 90% of our economy? America cannot afford for an amature to be in the White House in these times of economic and international instability. Get on board for real solutions and results. VOTE Hillary!

On Obama plagirism: I'm from MA. "Yes We Can", stolen directly from our governor's campaign too. Same guy (Gov. Deval Patrick) he stole the passage from that got all that attention. Where is there any original thought?
On Gov. Deval Patrick: Like Obama, he is also new to politics and African American. He made similar promises. In his 2 years in office he has done NOTHING to improve the conditions of the people of the Commonwealth. Wait he is pushing for a casino to open in Boston. That'll improve our economy, right.

What has america become?? We are all taxed too much. The government is way too large and cumbersome. We have more pork barrel legislation than ever before.. Bring back the line item veto where the president can cut all the special interest wastefull spending. Way too many politicians have their hands in the til. Do you really believe that any one of them is in it for the pure good of the country.. it is for power, fame and money. The one candidate that offers a plan that goes against the status quo is Ron Paul. The media won't give him the attention he deserves because they are 'owned' by the other candidates and their special interest groups. We need to downsize government .. get rid of political lobbyists and rethink the tax structure and stop being so friking politicaly correct. The government is wastefull and inefficient. If Hillary, Obama or McCain are elected it will be same ol same ol.. america has to wake up...

I first would like to put this in the air: Truly Obama is not African American, Biologically your father contributes your 23 chromose pair determing the sex of the child, However the race of the child is based on the mother...You are what you mother is...It always mamas baby and papas maybe This is an example of America still showing predjuice today, due to the fact that he has color in his skin he is automatically considered to be Black however that is so untrue, take it from a well-educated woman...Since the United States has been in existence and has had foreign relations with other countries let use, Pyongyang, N. Korea as an example...we have been telling them what they can and cannot due and we have some of the same power and we were the first to experiment....They view the white man as thinking he is more superior than any one else and we keep sending one over to their country telling them what to do and they feel belittled and rebel... Imagine how they would react to a woman coming and telling them what to do they hardly pay any attention to the white male they would look at Hillary as "Who does she think she's talking to" They would make her cry worse than she already has on national tv and they will automatically have the upper hand to her. She would get up blown the hell up with her smart mouth and sarcastic ways.Obama may not have a lot of experience with foreign polices and stuff but he would be the one to change it, because foreign countries view him the exact same way that America views him, they would take the pigmentation in his skin and relate more with him becasue he is more like them, and hes not thinking his a superior white man, and he would balance it out!!!

Why does Hillary Clinton always has this "Dr Jeckyll, My Hyde" expression on her face all the time? And her attitude....WOW! It stinks! She cannot go to other countries with that high hormonal attitude. Hillary is only popular because her husband was President. If it was not for him, we would not hear much from her or know whom she is. Plus, she always comes off with the "I did this, I did that" attitude. Speak more of what you are going to do for the people!

    • Posted By: liberated @ 02/26/2008 12:36:58 AM

Thats because she has a low tolerance for stupidity like yours

    • Posted By: TellItLikeItis1 @ 02/23/2008 3:44:12 PM

Hillary Clinton is a United States Senator and has been for 8 years. Hilllary got where she is on her own, she didnt need her husband to help her. At least Hillary smiles, when and IF Obama smiles it comes off as fake, his attitude is "Im better than you and everyone else". At least Hillary can talk about what she did, Obama hasnt dont anything to talk about.Hillary has been to other countried, Obama cant say the same, what countries has he been too? It wouldnt be a HORMONAL attitude if she wasnt a women. The other countries know Hillary they dont Obama..........Why hasnt Obama been to see our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, she has been there..............Obama is the last thing this country needs!!!

I am a nurse who worked very had when to stay off welfare hwen my husband became disabled. Since the Bush presidency my taxes have increased. In fact I am paying tax on my husbands social security. And this is to encourage those using the welfare system tp get jobs???? I feel everyone lived better under Bill Clinton and everyone says that Hilary ran it then - she can do it again.

  • Posted By: liberated @ 02/26/2008 12:28:19 AM

I do believe that Hillary is the best choice. She has been through a lot and has handled it very well and unmoved I might add. I think she has a plan for our country and can bring about the change we need.

G-d I wish more people would take an English course. Now for the President, what difference does it make if Hillary or Osama Obama, or for that matter John McCain become our new leader? They all have the same agenda. (Check it out, they are all from the CFR!). New World Order etc... The only candidate still running that does not come from that elitist group is Ron Paul. Long shot, but even McCain is beginning to harp him. America is going down, and It hurts me to see that in my time.

I know that Hillary has been to Iraq and Afghanistan visiting our troops, she has been there more than once, I dont remember Obama ever going to Iraq or Afghanistan to visit the troops.......why? I guess our troops are not important to Obama, but Hillary cares about them.
