Obama won three states yesterday 2/12/08, so I watched his speech....It???s amazing to me as an intelligent woman, how he's just strategically, on purpose, fully aware, following a Martin Luther King, format to empower the people. When a nation is sad he knows exactly what they need: a pep talk, a promise of hope, a lifting of the soul. I saw people roar of emotion for 45 minutes. Perhaps people see Hillary as just a walking suit, listing the issues and how she would tackle each one, but for 45 minutes straight, Obama never once even touched on one issue, let alone how he would solve them. It's sad to see a nation falling for emotional pep talks from a much too young mind and man who's just dreaming the dream but has no idea how to solve them. On the other hand here we have Hillary with a Masters on Health Reform from Harvard not to mention a Law Degree on the side to, 8 years Experience in the White House learning/working hand on hand with Clinton, 6 years as a U.S. Senator, and people are still trying to decide who???s the best person for the job? It???s a NO BRAINER even if just by logic. I don???t know what people are doing??? just because Hillary is actually focusing on the issues and not on our broken hearts we find her unfit? This opportunity that will never come back, it's great to be sheered up when we're down and people like Obama are really good at that, but when he sits in office is his job on TV giving us great empowerment speeches, or is his job to sit in office and solve issues I guess that's when we'll wake up and regret not having Hillary Clinton. The woman who actually went to school to CHANGE a nation in her twenties around the 1970???s that???s way before Obama decided to focus on CHANGE 6 months ago.

Please VOTE right...you know it's right.

The only reasong Hillary is down 107 VOTES is because FLORIDA was punished and striped from it's delagates for holding an early vote. Otherwise Hillary would be on TOP it's just bad Luck Florida is always responsible for some flop....they just don't know how to set up elections. AND now we are all paying for it...

(Sigh) Here goes the double standard??? again!

First of all let me address your first comment about "a Martin Luther King format to empower the people". What's wrong with a Martin Luther King format? Just about every politician has followed some type of format. Originality is rare. Shall I point out Hillary who's following the "Bill Clinton format"? I can't believe the Audacity of a woman (whom I believe to be Latina, judging by your last name. Correct me if I'm wrong) could so easily dismiss someone who follows the footsteps of MLK. Martin Luther King not only inspired a civil rights movement for African Americans but for ALL minorities, including Latinos. Do you really think Latinos would be treated with any kind of respect if it weren't for those who fought for civil rights? Get real! What a way to disrespect!

However, I do think it's great that you've gone so far as to research Hillary's resume and political achievements like being the wife of a former president (sarcasm), but then you turn around and speak so ignorantly about Barack's so called lack of qualification and achievement. You should look up Barack's history before making such ignorant and false statements. As a matter of fact, let me educate you. Barack went to Columbia University, graduating in 1983 with a degree in political science. Obama ALSO went to Harvard Law School in 1988. In February 1990, he was elected as editor of the Harvard Law Review. Obama graduated magna *** laude from Harvard in 1991. He also taught at the University of Chicago Law School. And he helped organize voter registration drives during Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. Let's not forget that he is the Senator of Illinois. These are just a few of his achievements. The man has written 3 books that explain his beliefs and that describe in great detail his idea of change for the US. These are not the actions of someone who was not interested in change until "6 months ago". So I ask again, how is Barack not qualified to run for president?

Nothing about this whole election is a "No brainer", as you so eloquently put it. People need to really do their homework and use their brains! I'm not saying that Barack is the only good candidate, Hillary is great as well. But please don't just jump on a band wagon because someone else you know does. Think for yourself and make your own EDUCATED DICISSIONS!

      With regard to the whole Florida/Michigan thing;

???You do realize that Hillary was the only candidate on the Dem. ballots? Think about it!

As a Democrat I firmly believe Senator Clinton is best qualified to run for president. I don't want an unexperience president to lead the world most powerful nation. Senator Obama doesn't fit in. A jack of all trades and master of none. Wake up America and make the best choice!

    • Posted By: ssimmons2212 @ 02/13/2008 12:20:09 PM

First off I think you mean inexperienced not "unexperienced".
So, you think Hillary would be an "experienced president"? I don't recall Hillary ever being president. So technically she too would be an inexperienced president. If you're referring to the fact that she is married to Ex-President Bill Clinton then you are clearly naive. If being related to an ex-president is what qualifies a candidate in your book, then you must be thrilled with George W. Bush as President and would probably approve of another Bush as President in the future. As far as Barack not fitting in, you might want to check out the man's resume. He's been in Politics all of his life, just like the other candidates running for office. He qualifies just as much as Hillary and the rest of the front runners in this campaign. So clearly, the one who needs to "wake up" here is you. With regards to your comment, "Jack of all trades and master of none", that's a joke right? I guess you don???t know that Barack is the Senator of Illinois, and a successful one, according to a majority of the population of Illinois. I would really advise you to do some research and get your facts straight before posting another comment.

The Media Machine is quick to pounce on Hillary. They had her down for the count after Iowa and have continued even though sh had enough to hold off all those states that voted for Obama. The Fat Lady hasn't begun to sing, so the polsters are merly spitting against the wind.

  • Posted By: checkmate @ 02/13/2008 11:06:00 AM

If republicans are voting in the democratic primaries, they are selecting who there opponent will be in the general elections. Obviously that canidate would be Obams...

I would like to see a map of the Red/Blue states in the last General Election. The reason is that I have a strong suspecian the large group of voters that re-registered as Independents are in fact Republicans voting in the Democratic Primaries. A simple stragedy, but not impossible after what's happened in the last two General Elections, first one being the chads in Florida and the second being the voting machines in Ohio. Let some smart reporter step up to the plate to expose this charade for what it is..

Wow, the Obama doubters are all here writing lots of question marks???? and all of his supporters are out there in the freezing storms of the potomac area this evening voting for him.

If you are waiting to hear details about Obama's plan for America from his victory speeches or from the media you are waisting your time. Obama has had tremendous success in inspiring his crowds and those who watch and hear him talk on TV. Getting into details tends to slow things down. The 24 hour news cycle might spend a brief moment looking "deeper" into an issue or two, but right now they are so caught up in the exit-polls, the word "momentum", and delegate counts to even focus on what matters (well ok I concede, delegate counts matter).

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW OBAMA WANTS TO "CHANGE" AMERICA THEN SIMPLY GO TO:

    http://www.barackobama.com/issues/

If you made it here you can make it there you internet savvy people. Read through the issues and if you disagree or think they aren't achievable then maybe you might feel better choosing another candidate.

Then maybe you can come back here and discuss what you agree or disagree on instead of whining about how the sensational media isn't spoon feeding you.

Indeed I agree with young voters that Obama is a person with some atributes, but what's the change? it will be good or bad... I say watch out!!! ...Clintons letf the country in order, no needing for a "change" I think everyone must vote taking the facts, Clinton left USA happier, Hillary offer the same actions as his husband did, The facts are clear Clinton already has history (good) and we remember it, Obama hasn't, it is an adventure and maybe it's inflated by opponents, because it will be a more easy opponent to defeat, think about that.

  • Posted By: TellItLikeItis1 @ 02/12/2008 8:52:51 PM

Obama hasnt said anything except he wants change, I have watched all the debates and I still dont know what he is going to do to bring about the change he keeps talking about. It looks to me like no one can answer my question because no one knows what he is going to do to bring the change we need in this country. He hasnt talked about the economy, or anything that is important to this country, all he can say is he will stop the war in a year, maybe, WHAT IS HE GOING TO DO TO BRING THE CHANGE HE KEEPS TALKING ABOUT????????? Would someone PLEASE tell me what he is going to do??? I havent heard anything from him. How can anyone vote for someone that hasnt said anything about what they want to do for this country????

  • Posted By: The Dominican @ 02/12/2008 8:49:39 PM

I think USA is voting for a guy which doesn't have already the experience running the power, as senator he (Obama) only has a short period, he is asking about "the change", but watch out !!!, I rather prefer to remember and return to how Clinton's left the US economy running full of cash, and only attacking the right offenders of democracy like Milosevich at Serbia-Kosovo war, I think Hillary is the return to that way of State's handling, more money in my pocket and wellness for everyone, I think Obama is a good politic but it's not his time, the time is for Hillary America needs to return to the way of Clinton's legacy to our actural president Bush before the 9/11 and Iraq invasion. Hillary is the right choice, Obama is good, but change what?

  • Posted By: jbr305 @ 02/06/2008 4:56:18 PM

Why would I vote for someone named Barack HUSSEIN Obama who is to the left of the left? I would vote for Hillary because at least we know where she's coming from. We just do not have enough data to make an informed opinion of Obama because he has not been around in politics long enough. He also snub Hillary at the Presidential state of the Union speech. That really showed his true color.

    • Posted By: ssimmons2212 @ 02/12/2008 7:25:35 PM

Do you really know where Hillary is "coming from"? Somehow I doubt that. How much can we really say we know someone when we don't know them personally? As far as Barack's name goes, that has to be the most childish and desperate attempt to make a point that I have ever seen. Didn't we learn in elementary school to not judge a book by its cover? Clearly, you missed that lesson along with your ability to produce an educated opinion. And since you would like to discuss Obama snubbing Hillary at the State of the Union address, did you forget that right after that, at the California debate, the two were extremely supportive of each other? Or are you just pressing that issue because it's the only event you've paid any attention to with regards to this whole topic? And even if he did snub her, where is it written that candidates have to be best friends or even like each other? Have you ever seen a friendly political race? And let's not forget how Bill Clinton got out of control and began to make this a "race" thing rather than a political race. Now don't get me wrong, I am not a Clinton Hater by any means, however, I can't stand it when people make desperate and mean spirited comments about people who are trying to make a change for the better. Last but not least, if you would like to know what Obama plans to do and what he's said that has so many Americans supporting him, look up all of his debates and speeches on You Tube since that seems to be your media of choice. Then come back and make a more educated post.

You ARE delusional, Nita! Bush WON in 2000 because every time they counted and re-counted and re-counted the votes again and again and again, he won every time! Even after it was all settled, some more lawyers went through and counted the votes all over again, and one more time in a row, Bush won the election. It was not the courts who put him in office -- it was the American people from all across the entire nation who VOTED him into office!

  • Posted By: Nita55 @ 02/12/2008 5:25:30 PM

I am a Democrat and I am not delusional. I know that Obama has more delegates than Hillary although they show her delegates with superdelegate that may have pledged a vote for her in the future if needed. Right now they do not COUNT. So, we still see how trickory and deceit is still used to keep the same status Quo in politics and the White House. Hillary is not going to bring about a change but continue with business as usually. Their are a lot of people who still view the world in black and white now that's DELUSIONAL. It's a new world, new day , and a whole new Way. God Bless America.

  • Posted By: Nita55 @ 02/12/2008 5:08:55 PM

I do not understand why the networks show the delegate count for the Democrats with Hillary in the lead when in fact it is not true. Superdelegates do not count because they are only needed in case there is not a clear frontrunner, and they can change their vote anytime they want prior to the Convention. I think it is a form of deceit to always show Hillary in the lead. They show the Republican without their superdelegates. That is why Americans are tired of the old status quo. WE WANT A CHANGE WE CAN TRUST!!!! "OBAMA"
BUSH was not voted in he was staus Quo CHEATED IN.

Lots of dems are delusional about Obama, he just talk about changes but he doesn't have real plans about how to make them work. Democrats, please choose your candidate carefully. Don't pick them just because of their looks or charisma.

  • Posted By: TriWMan @ 02/12/2008 9:32:23 AM

Lots of people are delusional about Obama, I admit that he's charismatic and a good orator but he doesn't have a real plan about what to do if he become president. He just talks about bringing some changes that are still "imaginary" without any plan how to make them work. Democrats, please choose your presidential candidate carefully.

Ok people what has Obama said that is so great.........What are the issues he is running on??? Does anyone know the answer??? I havent heard him say anything except that he wants change but what is he going to do to bring about this change he is always talking about. This country is in trouble thanks to Bush, we need someone that has experience in the White House, not someone that doesnt know what he is doing. Obama had to go to Kennedy to ask him questions when he was elected to the senate, who is going to help him in the White House????? Think about it people before you all make the wrong decision and regret it like when Bush was elected and everyone regretts that now..................GO HILLARY!!!!

If you really look at the map, Clinton won the SW states because of the latino vote. She won Arkansas and its neighboring states because of her name and most likely Bill's vast network of connections. The NY win was because that is where she is Senator. Other than a few small NE states she has nothing. It looks as though not only her money is depleting but so are the favors being payed back to her. She is betting all of her chips on the big states of Texas and Ohio. Because of this she will ensure that the race is close. Then she will try to play the Michigan and Florida cards and make a farce out of the whole process. I just hope Howard Dean steps in and sets things straight. Obama has completely destroyed Clinton in many states, the majority of which gave him over 58% of the vote ( some as much as 3/4s). If the superdelegates still lean her way they are either delusional of corrupt.
