I say stock the Satanic bible alongside the Gideon bible in the spirit of airing opposing views. Heck, throw in Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion" as well. Go ahead and stock the rooms with condoms, but include photos of primly dressed church ladies giving stern looks to head off all of those sinful, unchristian thoughts. Make porn videos and "The 700 Club" equally available on the television.

I have a suggestion to all of the people on here that have posted comments about America being founded as a "Christian Nation". You should really check your facts before making these types of comments. Our founding fathers, while Deists of varying degrees, were not technically Christian. And they created a country that they specifically wanted to be ran separate from the will of a religion or God. Just for kicks...go find out when the term "In God We Trust" was first put onto money. You will find it was quite awjhile after the country was formed.

I invite all of the people who have posted here with comments about America being founded as a "Christian Nation" to re-examine history and see that the founding fathers, while Deists, were not exactly Christian. And it was their explicit intent to create a country that was governed by the people's will and desire as opposed to religion or a God. Get your facts straight before posting. Just for kicks...go see when the term "In God We Trust" was first put onto money. It wasn't when the country was founde....

I have the solution! Perhaps condoms could be imprited with scripture? After all, aren't they basicly used for the same thing? Tax the churches, feed the people.

It is sad to see yet another brick taken out of the wall of morality to build the wall of "PC/no values" and continue our spiral down the road of, me now, God later. I think even a progressive, though they might not say, knows where this road will lead us.

It is an unfortunate thing to see yet another traditional part of what makes or "made" this country a place that put God before ourselfs. As most average Americans I ponder when it is that one too many bricks are taken out of the wall of morale values to build the "PC/no values" wall. So long Gideons and so long God.

I choose to believe in the Bible but I understand that my views may not be that of others'. With that being said, I can understand Hotels and Motels cannot keep a library in each room but I also do not believe that they should put condoms and sex toys in the rooms either. Why can't they put beautiful flowers, a fruit and candy tray or magazines about local businesses or attractions in the rooms instead? To assume that everyone that stays at their accomodations want them to be sexual playgrounds is rather offensive. I, as an adult, know what those items are and where to find them. I would prefer to discreetly take my own according to my tastes rather than have to push them aside to put my purse down or brush my teeth just because they are provided. If my teenage girls were on a road trip and stay at such a place I would hope that the first thought on their minds wouldn't be "Hey, check out the sex kit!!" Why should the message be this is what's expected while you stay at our place? Hey, I like lsex as much as the next person but don't assume that's all I think about. Big world out there and lots to experience! Plus, sex is not the safest thing out there anymore so why try so hard to promote it? People can practice their religion of choice anywhere without forcing it on others. I believe if these Hotels and Motels don't want to push religion then they should also not push sex. Let me make my own choices. After all, even if the Bible is sitting in the drawer I do have the choice of reading it or not. To me they are saying that sex is the only international language! There are better things to replace the Bible with, if you must.

America was founded upon Christian principles, but obviously, is fast moving away from them! Without God this great nation will perish. The removal/exclusion of Bibles from hotels is just one more example of us as a society of moving away from our principles and beliefs. As far as the evermore present question of "other religious materials" being present, well America's foundation is Christianity and if I were to visit a Middle East country I would expect to find such materials as the Koran since that is their country's belief and am sure the Holy Bible would be scare to find. So why is it America is supposed to cater to everyone else? "Freedom of Religion" I fully understand, but on the flip side of that same coin, do not try to take away or abolish our core principles in the process either. Everyone is entitled to their own belief and value system, EVEN CHRISTIANS.

taking the Bible out of hotels is taking the oportunity out of someones life. I know that obviously the people on here and the majority of people out there don't know God as their savior and they cling to something else to fill that gap in their life, but the Bible is truth. Everything in it is truth and God shows people his gift of salvation in it. I depend on the Bible for truth and if you don't then you're depending on yourself for truth and it will will lead you to nowhere fun. You can say this is a belief of mine, and shoot it down and say im crazy and i have no proof and everyone believes what they want, but christianity is a relationship not a religion, and the Lord is the only way to get to heaven. If u don't believe in heaven than take a moment and read the Bible. God Bless

first i thought that this was going to be a religious battle of whether we should accomidate other religions or just stop providing the bible in every hotel room. but when i found out that it was to allow the new generation shift of people that don't pay a lot of attention to religion, i thought that was reasonable. i liked the fact that indirectly these hotels are providing people a safe place to have sex for people that are not married. but i do think that there would be a draw back. with the "one night stand" package it would influence more of those people with the "date rape" package to those women or men to be more vulnerable, and the predator to have more access.
