Pray that people find the true Word of God in other manners - there are daily audio Bible podcasts available, so hopefully this shift in 'sin style' accommodations won't affect the greater good and people finding Jesus' salvation for their lives and His directive to share the greatest gift of Love.

Values? Just assure me that when the door is closed nobody is going to have their nose still inside. Today, I worry that private life is being exploited to include values the minority wish to proclaim to the world as universally acceptable whether they are or not. What value is in that?

Aren't the Bibles in Hotels placed by the Gideon organization mentioned in this piece? Are the hotels purchasing the Bibles or are the Bibles given free of charge to the hotels? It the hotels are purchasing these books then it is their prerogative to do away with the books. Surely they would be a big expense. However, if the Bibles are given free of charge, and the problem is that people of other beliefs would like to see their "scriptures" (i.e. Book of Morman or the Muslim Quran) in hotels, then perhaps those groups should get together and offer those books to the hotels as the Gideons do. People might want a choice of "scriptures" to read. And I must say, to descibe ones hotel as being "less values-oriented" means that there are going to be fewer families choosing to say there when booking a hotel. Our family had reserved a room in a Florida hotel and cancelled our reservation after we arrived with our two school aged children. It was less values-oriented. I suppose it depends which kind of clientele a hotel feels will give them more business. They can make their decision on which "amenities" to offer and clients can make their decisions on where they want to stay. :~)

How sad. This is a reflection of our society today. Lost, lost and lost. Our youth are being sold out and we will ALL suffer. Just remember, this journey is brief.. One day your life will be over and all that will matter will not be the things of this world but your relationship with Jesus Christ. Man does not dictate your victory, your faith in Christ does.

    Dear Newsweek --

Thank you for this informative online article. I have emailed all of the hotels mentioned asking them to change their policies regarding the placement of Bibles in hotel rooms. America has a tradition of Bible-placement by the Gideons which should be honored by all American hotel chains. I will not stay in any hotel or motel which does not provide this service to its customers.

    Thanks very much

Big mistake to take the bible s away! First out of the schools and now out of hotel rooms???
Are we surprised when we ask GOD for help or anything else, HE doesn't respond or give? WE are slowly fazing HIM out of or lives and are surprised at the reactions. (SIGH)....

It will be found that taking the Word of God out of hotels and out of society will further the downfall of the United States and unless the people turn back to God and the principles this country was founded upon the country will fall.

How sad, I have always just liked it there...never read it, but liked it.

What is the problem? The Bibles don't cost the hotel anything. They are certainly not big enough to be in anybody's way. Those guests who are not interested or who are offended by the presence of Scripture can leave them in the closed drawer. They don't have to read It.

Acording to the article, the presence of Bibles in hotels rooms is desappearing because of the diversity of religions that we have in this country. Further more, youg people are getting involved in (hotel) business. In my own opinion, if travelers want to read a Bible they should bring their own. And the same for people from different religions.

I tkink that It is interested into have a free bibble to read in the hotel, and that is more wonderful for christian when they relax in the hotel. Sometimes , I think it is not fair for differences religions, because they also looking for a book which write about another religions ,such as; buddas, kitto .....That is ok , if the hotel want to advertise the bibble book or christian , if not the hotel should show all kind of religious books in the room for customers to read

I think that It is interested in there is a free Bibble to read in hotel. It is more wonderful for Christian religion, but sometimes it not fair for differences religiious. For example, people who are buddhist they are also looking for a book which talk about their belief. So I think if the Hotel want to advertise the Bibble book , that is ok, but the hotel is paying attention to the religious in the world, ther should show all kind of religious of books not only Bibble

Are people complaining about the presence of Bibles in their rooms? Are the rooms so chock full of stuff that the hotel's need to remove the Bibles to make room for the "intimacy kits?" I personally like to find a Bible in the nightstand because it means that I will have something good to read after what is usually a long day of work or vacationing.
