It is good that Ms Rice admits to not being "very self-reflective" . Wouldn't say that it shocked anybody since that statement is highly reflective of Bush and all his cronies. The thing that I was amazed by was that only one mistake was spoken of at all and that was such a hazy non-reflection and self serving set of comments for MsRice and the Bush administration. I guess the thing we all need to remember here is that egotists of the Bush ilk do not admit to mistakes and that is what makes them so very dangerous as elected officials and White House appointees because mistakes never acknowledged are mistakes rarely addressed and even more rarely remedied.

She certainly wasn't terribly explicit about the mistakes, was she? As I read the article, I was under the impression that she talk very fuzzily about a single mistake. In case anyone out there should be confused by the article and Condy's comments, just remember that egotists of the Bush ilk simply don't make mistakes to their way of thinking. That's why it is so dangerous to have this type in office ... mistakes that are unacknowledged are rarely looked at let alone remedied!

The question is not if Ms. Rice is smart; achieving a Phd. does not confirm she has any common sense. The real issue is being truthful about the underlying reason for the Iraq war. Super powers require natural resources to stay alive, the US needs oil as is now becoming obvious.

Rice and Bush make mistakes everywhere in the world. All the trouble spots in the world have their involvement. There is no place in this world that is free of their involvement. When there is trouble, you can be sure that Rice and Bush are involved.

Ms Rice is a practiced and effective liar. As National Security Advisor she assured us of the reality of IRAQs WMD. Now she will do the same for IRAN. Over 80% of State Department personnel say she doesn't give a flip about their welfare. As Secretary of State she has continued the traditions she first developed as National Security Advisor. She and Bush have the luxury of living an unexamined life.

"... Rice is also representative of a tradition of American nation building by trial and error,,," This is a key statement. A continuation of American arrogance which results in self-deception by our leaders, not necessarily willful deception of the country.

Rice asks for the advice on Iraq: "I would like to go back and find out who gave that (advice)" Well, if she and the present administration had some what of a historic education, one might realize that Machaivelli gave this advice in the early 1500's. Bush, Cheney and Rice are prime examples of a "America Centric View" If America does it, it is somehow correct and Christian. Bush, Cheney and company either lied to us about the reasons for the war or they are incredibly stupid: I am not sure which is better. Why can not the American public put 2 and 2 together: for every dollar we spend in Iraq. there is one less dollar to spend on issues in America, to say nothing of the American soldiers that are being killed. I do not see Bush or Cheney sending their children to join the military or even driving alittle less to save oil so that the Middle East is not so important to require AMericans to die there. Roman

Remember she pused the WMD reason to go into IRAQ although now she claims we went in to remove a dictator. She cannot see the truth. Ms Rice is a skilled and effective liar. She was a lousy National Security Advisor and has carried on that tradition as Secretary of State. In a recent poll over 80% of State Department employees said she didn't give a flip about their welfare.

    is 'revivified a word'?

Rice joins Bush as the worst ever in American history in their foreign policy blunders.
And yes, she is a smart woman, no question. I think her main problem was being a yes person to Bush.

Ms Rice will never fully admit to the lies and corruption that led to the US engagement in the Iraq horror. History will write the truth many years from now and she will be disgraced. Remember what your mother told you " YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY THE COMPANY YOU KEEP"She has crawled into bed with Bush, Chaney and Rumsfeld AND SELPT WITH THEIR DREAMS AND GREEDY GOALS FOR MANY YEARS..

She will not and cannot admit much of the truth about the US involvement because it is so riddeled with lies and corruption. History will write the truthful book many years from now and Ms Rice will be disgraced

The main reason we went to Iraq is oils and because the horrible person in Sadam Hussein gave good justification for the invasion and forgot History has a nasty habit of repeating, only we need to look at the British experience after WW I and thinking that will the same path that followed WW II and forgettin the secular hate Sunni vs Shites
Disbanding the military and to think we will instant love .
Iam afraid we need to stay there a long time ,specially after spending $ 600 millions and the large USA embassy in the world.
It so sad that the America peoples have sacrifice so much for the World and very little appreciation

based on the speeches of Bill Clinton on not needing Congressional or UN approval to send troops into conflict and the fact in 1998 he had like 3 speeches where he said he would use any means nec. to stop Saddam's wmd programs (not to mention at least part of Bush war strategy in Iraq was based on a Clinton Iraq strategy) I really don't think I want another Clinton or Bush as president...

I cannot wait for the day when I no longer have to listen and watch this woman lie about everything.

Rice and Bush are two people I hope to never see or hear from ever again when they leave office. They can teach both Clintons a thing or two about triangulation
