Comment: Why doesn't Iran change the dynamic then and do something dramatic, like reach out to Israel like Sadat did? If Iran signed a peace treaty with Israel and took the money they send to Hamas and Hizbollah and instead improved the living conditions of Palestinians in the Arab refugee camps or the West Bank, they would change the Middle East overnight. This action would eliminate the risk of a pre-emptive Israeli strike, help marshal an Israel-Palestinian settlement, and see the other Arab states quickly recognize Israel. In the end, Iran would be the center of the Middle East and re-forge a strong friendship with the U.S.

Comment: Newsweek is lucky to have a journalist of Maziar Bahari's calibre working for it in Iran. He is the most knowledgable, honest and neutral reporter among the Iranians working for foreign media inside Iran. Mr. Bahari's interview with Sadegh Kharazi is a brilliant example of fair journalism.

Comment: It is my firm belief that we as citizens of this country do not know both sides of this story. Not only do we not have all the information, but we are having intentions and motivations misrepresented all the way around, and placing a judgment call on these foreign relations at this moment based upon what we hear from the White House, which does not always accurately portray what is happening globally with correct motivations, could be catastrophic with regards to foreign relations. This country has a way of usurping the belief systems of other countries, other races, so that Americans can claim dominion and domination over every other country and claim everything for themselves, they usurp everyone elses morals, and always portray themselves as always having the "good" intent, while all other countries are "greedy" to want any footing for themselves. The other countries are getting sick of getting blame that is not theirs to take, and there is a huge movement throughout the world for a voice of the common people, and the governments do not like being challenged, thus the moves like we see in Pakistan, Iran and Iraq and in this country.

I think we as Americans need to be more aware of when we are being fed a line of bull to persuade us to a particular political viewpoint, and watch events unfold and a course of events laid, and be sure that we have all sides of the argument and the truth before we make political judgments of righteousness or wrongdoing.....Thank you for allowing my opinion....skd500

Comment: Do you think Americans know Iran?
Americans in general have misperceptions about Iran. The Americans' main source of information is the Iranian opposition in the United States. The opposition is mainly composed of people who haven't been to Iran for the past three decades..........
Ask him why you killer MULLA let people in to Iran to talk ,let people who is living for the past three decades in Iran and still living in Iran to talk

Comment: where is the tough questioning of Irans kidnappings or "The Great Satin" rhetoric over the past decades? Even the moderates point, always,to the the policies of the U.S. and Isreal as the reason for their out right hostility and aggressive posture. Human Rights abuse is why of life in Iran, we have all heard the stories. Maybe Isreal makes them stone their women. Let's not forget the "gesture" of the hostage taking in 1979.I can understand and accept American policy is not always in Irans best interest. Why should it be ?considering there actions sense the Islamic revolution, America must be weary.
