‘I Want to Live for My Guys’

Good old albertsmith56@aol.com apparently never paid a price for anything. His idea of sacrifice is having to drink his eggnog latte without any sprinkles. I on the other hand know very well what it is to lose something dear to you for a cause not fully understoodby many. I thank you for your sacrifice and would give you my own legs if I could. I appreciate your spirit. Though I know the bad times still come now and then, I know you will triumph. I pray for your fellow soldiers. I pray for peace. And I pray for an end to this, and all wars. Until then, I pray that the wrath of the most powerful army known in the history of civilazation rain down on terror wherever it hides. If there is to be loss among the innocent's, let it be for the purpose of providing a future peace without the plague of a radical group, christian, islamic, or otherwise, that promotes untethored terror. Peace will always come at a price. Some of us know all too well the cost.
Please accept this simple gesture of respect and acknowlegement for your sacrifice and service. I stand at attention, ......,and salute. Thanks....

Do you think we have, or ever will have, the sort of control we would need to keep small groups of people from making their way to the west? That sort of reasoning just makes no sense. This is a story about ONE SOLDIERS dedication.. not only to Her country, but Her team, Her Army, Her Job, and now to Her recovery and return to a normal life. I feel for those of You who have to post your political rhetoric or pity party bs. Grow up and take an example from an American Soldier who's given a large part of herself and lives with the loss of Her team EVERY DAY. Be motivated to do more than complain and whine about the president or where Our troops should or shouldn't be. And if You can't do that.. France is to the west, I'm sure You'll fit in well there with the rest of whiners and diplo-dinks who don't have a clue what it's like to stand tall, proud, and do a job that VERY FEW can. Like a couple others here, I've been there.. I've done that.. and I am STILL PROUD, and even Prouder of that ground work that My family has laid for 6 generations for people like Marissa Strock to follow. The Best of Luck with Your recovery Marissa, keep fighting, and keep living. To all the other Vet's out there.. Thank You for Your Service as We honor Each Other on this day, as We should do EVERY DAY.

Marissa you are a very brave women, you are giving to millions of people the hope of life... I think that you can achive whatever you want and I also feel that you are a person with wonderfull feelings...
is for that reason that i think that you have to being focusing in that precious gift that God gave you... (show people that everything is possible while you are alive)
I think that it doesn't matter if we all have a different God or the same one, but for all of us God is a God of love... and I am sure that when He gave you this second chance to live he saw on you all the love that you have in your heart and I hope you live your life with all this love and not being anxions to take the life of those people who hurt you!!
They dind't know you... they dind't think of you they just hurt you... don't do the same... keep giving love to yourself and to other and that is what you will recieve from God and from others...

just think what a big leader you are...and now choose to be a leader of reveange or forgiviness and give to the world a message of love!!

This country is blessed to have people like Marissa serving their country. She is an example of the strong spirit that makes the USA such a great country. I am a USMC veteran (my last year as an MP) with four (4) daughters of whom I am very proud and would use Marissa as a role model for inspiration. Doing your duty and not necessarily agreeing with the mission is a great lesson that many have learned as an armed services veteran. She is to be commened for her wonderful spirit. Thanks for running this story about a well deserved American hero on Veterans Day... MMMURRAY

Thanks you so much fo all you have given. I am going to have the girls at the Home where I work read it and hopefully find some motivation to forget their past hurts and move on. I think you are a great role model and motivation for them.

to Mr. Smith and "ru4real" - There is so much more going on that we know with regards to threats against the United States. President Bush and his cabinet did what they thought was in the best interests of this country - and that means keeping you and all of the rest of us safe. Our military personnel are not allowed choices as to where they will be sent - they go because they agreed to this stupendous duty and all the honor that goes with it. Many of us don't agree with the war in Iraq - but as Americans - we should support and honor those who have made the decision to help defend Her.
